True Faith (From "The Last of Us Part II") performed by Ashley Johnson as Ellie.
Lyrics:
I feel so extraordinary
Something's got a hold on me
I get this feeling I'm in motion
A sudden sense of liberty
I don't care 'cause I'm not there
And I don't care if I'm here tomorrow
Again and again I've taken too much
Of the things that cost you too much
I used to think that the day would never come
I'd see delight in the shade of the morning sun
My morning sun is the drug that brings me near
To the childhood I lost, replaced by fear
I used to think that the day would never come
That my life would depend on the morning sun
When I was a very small girl
Very small girls talked to me
Now that we've grown up together
They're afraid of what they see
That's the price that we all pay
And the value of destiny comes to nothing
I can't tell you where we're going
I guess there was just no way of knowing
I used to think that the day would never come
I'd see delight in the shade of the morning sun
My morning sun is the drug that brings me near
To the childhood I lost, replaced by fear
I used to think that the day would never come
That my life would depend on the morning sun
I feel so extraordinary
Something's got a hold on me
I get this feeling I'm in motion
A sudden sense of liberty
The chances are we've gone too far
You took my time and you took my money
Now I fear you've left me standing
In a world that's so demanding
I used to think that the day would never come
I'd see delight in the shade of the morning sun
My morning sun is the drug that brings me near
To the childhood I lost, replaced by fear
I used to think that the day would never come
That my life would depend on the morning sun
I used to think that the day would never come
I'd see delight in the shade of the morning sun
My morning sun is the drug that brings me near
To the childhood I lost, replaced by fear
I used to think that the day would never come
That my life would depend on the morning sun

Ashley’s version is so good. I could listen to her sing for hours.
i have been listening to this song for like months now ... i start last of us 2 5 months ago and still i play this game and listen to this masterpiece
Damn, i bought this in release. Still playing this song 😅
The fact this song is sung with the voice of Ellie gives me goosebumps that the original could never give me. Ellie's voice is my most favorite thing ever.
the original could never give you? the original is an alternative dance song, its not trying to give you goosebumps
@@Butterratbee Lol, what is your problem? Someone pissed in your coffee?? Hate to break it to ya, but I'm allowed not to prefer the original. If you don't like it, move on.
@@veru_needy I didn’t say you weren’t allowed to do anything. Nothing I said had anything to do with you liking the song.
It had to do with yout comment being dumb because you’re comparing two completely different things in a really specific way that one of them wasn’t meant for
It’s the equivalent to saying the original makes me want to dance, Ellie’s version could never give me that.
@@Butterratbee Funny, you're saying this. 57 people already disagree with you. The way you interpret a song, is not the way I need to interpret the song. That's all I have to say.

The Last Of Us Part II has best cinematic narrative (acting, lighting, dialogue writing, mimics, color palette and cinematography), best melee, best TP using weapon, best audio design, best concept design, best atmosphere, best texture (hair, skin, clothes, environment and body...), best character models, best animation (body and mimic), best technique, best game development, “best musics for me (because music is subjective)”...
The Last Of Us Part II is so emotional, so deep, so dark, so philosophic and so gut-wrenching masterpiece...
The game is way ahead of its time
@@CrusardModding Yeah💕❤️😭
Would’t say it has the best narrative though
@@bigman7583 It has the most in-depth narrative though
@@bigman7583
Definitely disagree!
The Last Of Us Part II perfectly conveys the emotions of all the people in the post-apocalyptic universe.
The Last Of Us Part II perfectly explains that anger and revenge are not monotonous, not limited to one person, that these feelings are instinctively present in all living people.
Anger and revenge instinctively exist in every human being, and these emotions are actually like parasites that poison other emotions and feed on them (There is a water reference from the Bible in the finale.
In the Bible, water symbolizes purification from sins and evil and a new life.).
It is a work that perfectly conveys the feelings of anger and revenge to the universe it has created, and perfectly combines the characters and the universe it creates with the feelings of anger and revenge.
It tells tremendously that anyone can take revenge on anyone (very well written enemy npc dialogues), everyone has a revenge story in this post apocalyptic universe (surrounding notes). The Last Of Us Part II explains very well that everyone has loved ones in the post-apocalyptic universe, and in parallel, everyone has feelings of revenge and anger.
A work or an experience is a “unique masterpiece” if it can make you think more than anything else, if it can "improve" you in an incredible way and add different perspectives to you. This work or this experience becomes an incredible product of the mind. And these artifacts are almost nonexistent!
The Last Of Us Part II is one of these works...
The Last Of Us Part II is a masterpiece that is so deep, so emotional, so philosophical, so dark and so heartbreaking!
Narrative + Script = Story...
And The Last Of Us Part II is best masterpiece of eighth generation...
The Last Of Us Part II has a tremendously well-written script and best narrative! And The Last Of Us Part II has a perfect, an incredible story.
And The Last Of Us Part II has best narrative (acting, dialogue writing, lighting, action choreography, mimics, color palette, scene transitions, emotion transfer, vocalizations, altar of character relations, universe design and post-apocalyptic dystopia design...)...

I freaked out when they had this in the credits to episode four (I think it was)- I was so happy! Such a great song and a wonderful commercial too. My mom saw the episode before I did and texted me "You're going to like the credits music." She was right.
After watching The Last of US HBO lately (and being a long-time huge fan of the games), hearing Ashley's Ellie brings instant feels and chills. They already had the perfect cast. I'm happy for those who otherwise would never have known about TLOU, but damn are they missing out.
What you think of ep 4?

@Legions and Legends slightly went down but I think that's because of my game bias. I get what they were trying to show and why they chose to do what they did to get to Sam and Henry.
Yep Troy is my Joel and she’s my Ellie
She can still do the songs in second season. Bella is a better actor .
The lyrics are so on point for TLOU2 and I honestly want to cry watching this.
I wonder if this is Canonically to the series a Original Ellie song

Hopefully they let Ellie kill her this time.
this game is the reason i am still here i was so broken before i played it and after i remember how strong ellie was and it keeps me happy
Going through TLOU part II, I could help but feel so proud of Ellie. I watched her grow up in part I, and during the fight with Abby in the theater I was jumping in my seat with pride. I was thinking that's my girl with tears in my eyes. The most connection I have felt with a fictional character was with Ellie. I whole heartedly support Joel and would have done the same but actions have consequences that is the way of life. Ellie had sacrificed so much and had suffered so much pain. When she came back from Nora, and I saw the toll that it took on Ellie, I was like you have done enough Ellie lets go back. Joel would have never wanted you to suffer like this. I have gone through the story 3 times and it got easier to get through each iteration. I don't agree with a lot of choices that the devs made but at the end of the day I find myself going back to the game again, maybe one last time.
Are you joking? They designed the game to literally turn her into the villain and here you are saying this disturbing shit lol you might have some moral issues dude you're supposed to disagree with her and be disgusted by her actions not proud and hard over it
Are you joking? You should know they literally designed Ellie in part 2 as the villain.. you aren't supposed to be proud of the horrific things she does you're supposed to be appalled by her morally bankrupt actions not impressed. You might need to see a therapist if you actually agree with her after Seattle Day 1.
@@SUPERFunStick if only they didnt discuss infront of ellie how they should kill her i would agree with you, but they had it coming, the only thing that stopped them from doing so was owen's verbatim because abby was just taking in what she just did to joel infront of ellie
I'm definitely in the minority, but I honestly do not care. The story, gameplay, music, and feeling of the game are all a 10/10. Even the story. I genuinely felt the game's story was as perfect as it could be. It's the culmination of the events of the first game in every single way.
**Spoilers for our HBO friends**
Yes, even the major thing that happens an hour in. I think it felt thematically with Joel's character to die like that. He has wronged so many people, so many people killed for survival or for Ellie. I think Abby's reasoning for doing so is more understandable than anyone else's motivation. You'd absolutely hunt down the killer of your father and kill him.
And Joel dying in such a gruesome yet "normal" way fits. Anyone can die that way, and The Last of Us'universe reveals in its REALISTIC brutality. Jackson made Joel let his guard down around people, and it got him killed like it would anyone else.
Ellie sparing Abby at the end also fits with the theme of the entire universe. The cycle of revenge made her lose everything (Dina, her kid, Jessie) and hurt the people she cared about. Abby on the other hand immediately dropped her revenge the moment she got Joel. She wanted revenge on Ellie for killing her friends, but Lev, just like Ellie taught Joel in the first game, taught Abby to let go and live for something better than hate.
That's the lesson and punishment Ellie learned at the end. She doesn't give up she sees Lev, a parallel of herself in part 1, and remembers Joel. So she stops. Not because she understands Abby, not because she forgives her, but because if she killed Abby, Lev would become just like her.
And when she goes home, she's lost everything in her quest for hate. This is perfectly shown with her fingers. She lost them. The one peaceful connection she had with Joel, the guitar, she can no longer play.
you are absolutely not in the minority, the stupid haters are just loud
Fantastic
I always found the reasoning: "Joel is important and he shouldn't die" or "Joel should die in a more dignified way" to be stupid. I mean the Last of Us' universe does not recognize anyone to be more important than another, it is only the spectator or player who does that. The world there is cruel and indifferent at the same time.
Fuck off with that bullshit, even abbys friends point to the fact she is a bad person and Ellie fucked up by not finishing the job, joel deserved better and now Tommy is basically a cripple
Abbys father sacrificed other immunes to find a cure and no success, so that means Ellie could have been just another lab rat, joel done what I would do giving the circumstances and abby is a terrible person to begin with, the only part you got right was joel letting his guard down because old joel would have killed abby and her shitty friends ps Owen was the only one I felt sorry for
The Last of Us episode 4 brought me here and I must say this show besides its wonderful adaptation so far of game has as well a wonderful selection of music titles for each episode. The Hank Williams song was a good choice also. Love this show so far as a fan of the games. I can’t wait to see peoples reaction when they do Last of Us 2 and when Joel encounters Abbey … that will be a moment in television history like the Red Wedding. Get ready world to cry your eyes out and some therapy 😢😢😭😭
For starters I look forward to the last episode of this season. That should be powerful ... but yeah TLOU2 show could be insane.

No game made me tear up more than the Last of Us 2. I really liked but it was emotionally taxing. After finishing it I just felt sad. My favourite character dying messed me up. I was with Ellie in wanting revenge but then I saw the monstrous way she went about it made me feel wrong. When I started playing as Abby I seriously considered just stopping. But I stuck through and it was the most emotional a game ever made me feel.

"Good job kid" 😢😢😢
She is the last of us
I know there's been a lot of hate towars TLOU2 but it's all just ppl being mad at the devs for killing Joel and that Ellie didn't kill Abby in the end. Everything this game did had a reason for, and killing Joel had a reason behind it, and so did sparing Abby. I don't understand being so upset about a fictional character dying or not dying that people are literally going out of their way to say how "terrible" it is. Everyone will have different opinions, but you need to stop insisting that this game is garbage and actually pay attention to the underlying message for the story. It's about revenge, and what sacrifices you're willing to make, and how far you're willing to go to get it; but it's also about forgiveness. Ellie could've killed Abby in the end but she didn't. At the farm, Ellie was constantly having flashbacks to the moment Joel was killed, which is why she thought going for Abby would stop it. She gained clarity when she tried killing her and realized it was wrong, which is why she finally saw Joel in a happier space. She forgave Abby in a way, but she lost everything for revenge.
I understand I'm not the best at explaining this but just hear me out please. Have a good day and please be more respectful about other peoples' decisions, and especially the game developers' decisions for this game. They put a lot of hard work into this game, and, yes, there are many things that could've done differently, but they didn't and continuing to crap on the game isn't going to change it.
Goodbye reality. It was a good ride
