Wayne Brady's singing voice is honestly the best thing about this. It starts to go downhill plot-wise the second he stops singing, they give him a goal no one could possibly want to see him succeed at, and the whole disaster ends on the stupidest note ever. Even as a kid, I remember wishing it would just have stuck with Blotto and Red Girl singing back and forth while prancing through their beautifully animated ink world.
This isn’t the only time Wayne Brady showed off his singing skills! He was the Fox in Season 2 of “The Masked Singer,” and he was the season’s champion!
So if this got picked up, was this going to be a show about a cartoon character becoming a comic book star while also trying to win back his ex? Because if so, that sounds pretty unique.
"Blotto" was/is an animated pilot for a cartoon series featuring a wide variety of musical adventures featuring the lead character. In this PARTICULAR episode, Blotto sees opportunities in comics, which I am currently looking into. Interesting idea for a webcomic, eh?
@@d-manthecaptain1382 To be more specific, I focused on "Blotto" in the "Comics World" (at least in this story) primarily because he encountered a villain and a director from a comic book world. In future episodes, I see a "Blotto" tv series showcasing our hero with other kinds of characters from oddball environments , for example, in a music sheet world, a travel poster world or an art gallery world, utilizing different types of music (jazz, reggae, swing, etc.), as he rescues various damsels in distress. Revisiting some of the more exotic or intriguing worlds , such as a comic world, would be an inviting idea. Gosh, I hope you understand SOME of what I just "explained"...!

Very perceptive of you. I thought such a plot might be fun to pursue in a somewhat updated fashion and would love to see more throwback ideas of the sort. Hope you enjoyed it!
Lovely idea you've got there. Perhaps Fred Seibert, the executive producer of the series, can be persuaded to return with episodes if enough demand is out there.
Every time I watch this I root for him and Red Girl. They seem like a good match for each other. I mean, maybe not "settle down in rocking chairs someday" good, but compatible enough to have a good time.

I had very vague memories of seeing this short once in my dentist office as a kid, although all I really recall for the most part was Blotto singing "It's an ink world" while his girlfriend keeps insisting that it stinks. Then the villain shows up and so does a movie director. To be fair, I kept thinking the little guy was singing "It's a Nick world" because this short showed up in between some Nickelodeon shows at the time, so I thought it was a bumper of sorts.
I think Blotto is better off with the red ink blot. If she hates his ink world so much, then she should leave. I'm pretty sure there are other prettier colors of ink girl's for my boy Blotto.
I FINALLY FOUND IT This has been sitting in the very back of my mind, but my vague memories of it had Snap from Chalk Zone in there, old Mandela effect stuff.

Nice visuals, and the way it plays with the ink/comic media is brilliant, but the forced singing with repetitive and poorly-written lyrics totally killed it. Silence is golden, indeed. The whole plot, such as it is, winds up being painfully forced; show rather than tell, and work on making your telling more natural.

Wayne Brady has a pretty cool singing voice in this.

My favorite Wayne Brady singing is King Dice.^^
This cartoon was really good and its songs are kind of catchy.
@James Plotty have you heard ANY music? That’s how songs work, they repeat chorus lyrics (usually the title of said songs)
