As much as i try i dont think my accent will ever ever ever be perfect. So i wouldnt focus on that for him. Make him feel comfortable. So that he actually wants to speak in front of you and learn. If u talk about his accent a lot or giggle too much he might become too shy or discouraged.
Ive had a real hard time progressing because i hate being giggled at but every time i speak i get giggled at by filipinos they say its because "it sounds cute" but like bruh im trying to find the bathroom tulungan mo ako. 🤣

They do study English, but unlike in the Philippines, they aren't immersed in it. Take Japan for example, all you'd see is Japanese characters everywhere and they stick to Japanese. The Philippines, on the other hand, is immersed in English.

@@nestorsabith5113 I'm sorry, I disagree. May point yung sinasabi niyo pero, immersion plays a very important role in language learning. You could see that they struggle in creating English sentences - take it from me who learns French and knows a lot of Asian people. Confidence plays a role too, parang yung takot ka mag-English sa klase kasi baka pagtawanan ka lang. But I would like you to imagine what your mastery would be like if you would have been immersed in Filipino throughout your life. From our phones to billboards, this "immersion" is, believe me, an effective strategy in language learning. Don't take it the other way, I also do agree with you :)
