I've done my research and asked a lot of pro reps...for lower to mid-range skates, go with BAUER. They tend to make a better skate with more value (high end is about equal); CCM tends to chintz out sometimes. More importantly, personally never going back to CCM because their 'Customer Service' absolutely SUCKS. I've written multiple emails and even wrote a letter. Canada HQ never responded.. Simply awful Sticking with Bauer..
Intriguing insight. I'm in the market for a mid-range boot. I've been looking at CCM. I'm fairly certain I can't wear a Bauer Vapor because I have a very wide forefoot. If not Bauer/CCM, I would be interested to hear what brands you do recommend.
Not really sure what you're talking about, skates have literally never been better. Just got some Jetspeed FT490's with the one piece boot, they are absolutely incredible skates. They blow away anything you could buy when I bought my last pair of skates (about 7 years ago). Not to mention each company has 3 different lines that fit different foot profiles, so no matter what both Bauer and CCM should have a skate that fits great. Don't really understand your comment.
