What a glorious time when this record dropped. Paradise Garage was the place. The light show, the cool mist. The blasting sound system, and everyone just having a great time. No Covid virus to worry about.
Choc-Co-Lette performed in the Garage on Saturday Night, she walked up on stage and said, a Box of Chocolates in her hand, this is Chock-late, I Am Choc Co-Lette, and we lost our fucking minds, into this Bass line, what a night. from a time long gone! To my Dancing Brothers like me who Lived in the Garage, Better Days, Zanzibar, Murphy's, The Loft and The Star-ship Discovery off of 8 th Avenue 42 & 43.
WHY DOES IT REMIND YOU OF Abrams Maybe because I produced his first two records and fashioned his sound, but not just me we gotta give it to Mr. Winston Jones for music is the answer.
Even though you're no longer here in the physical ... STILL ... THANK YOU FOR THE AWESOME AWESOME WORK YOU LAID DOWN BRO, PLEASE SAVE A PLACE ON THE DANCE FLOOR FOR ME, REST IN POWER KING.
Yo i just made a similar comment on another channel, i basically said of remembering the years when things started to change for the worse, wow that still hurts me to this day, i remember thinking to myself(back then): IT'S GONNA GET BETTER, THEY'LL NEVER LET IT GET ANY WORSE...boy was i wrong!!!! But yo!!! please check this mix out i stumbled across, it's what brought me here too: CLASSIC HOUSE MIX, it made me start too look up all the hardcore classic's.
Let me help. Take it from a bouncer and long time patron of The Loft, Garage and numerous underground venues. Pills and techno clubs dragged the underground clubs with them, not hip hop or aids. X, GHB and others pills prompted the EMS to respond too often. Marshals came around and closed everything and the sad part was "WE" only blazed weed, drank a little. Shame.
After listening to this after all these years......dose anyone know if there's a back story behind the lyrics??? this dose'nt strike me as just a regular song.

I saw her years ago at the Paradise Garage. I still remember her tossing chocolate kisses into the crowd.
Boyd Jarvis practically ruled NYC with his beats. Not a night on 98.7 'Kiss' FM went by in the mid-1980s without one of his songs playing.

the roots of house music
The roots to house is r&b and disco/gospel...one has to go back to 1975 Free Man and My Love is Free....I Love Music The O'Jays...
Roots of house, ain’t no doubt to those who lived it!
Yup and I was going to say the same and when this hit the west coast, house didn’t start here for like another 4 to 5 years.
