I’m a Scorpio, but a Scorpio man. The reason we hold grudges forever is because we remember things better if they induced a significant emotional response in us. Whether good or bad, if it significantly impacted our emotions, we’ll remember it forever and probably think about it again if another event produced a similar emotional response. Because an event has to produce such a significant impact on our emotions for us to remember it, it tends to always linger and leaves a sort of scar. If someone made me angry, I automatically recall all of the other times I felt the same way, and this will cause me to bring those memories forth to that person. It doesn’t necessarily mean that we don’t forgive you or that we hate you because of it. We just can’t help it. It’s just our brain’s way of dealing with our VERY intense emotions. If I still feel connected to someone, I will do this, but if I genuinely hate someone, I will tell them to their face, in the most direct way possible. I only reserve this for people that I find to be a serious threat to mine, my friend’s or my family’s well-being. I don’t find it right to try and alter people’s relationships with me or people close to me, unless I think it would result in serious physical or emotional harm. I can handle a lot of things and believe those close to me are capable of doing the same, but I can’t handle someone close to me being hurt and knowing I could have done something to avoid it.
