Yea, I do miss the old story-based songs like As The World Turns, Stan, and this one. I really liked Bad Guy, Legacy and kinda enjoyed So Far (despite having a pretty corny beat) on MMLP2, but he's only gone downhill since. The constant yelling that started with Recovery has only went up, on top of the cleverness turned down for speed rhymes which I'm not super impressed by. He went from "you can jump a candle stick, burn your back, fuck Jill on a hill, but you still ain't Jack" and "sometimes I lay awake in the bed, strap a bulletproof vest on, and shoot myself in the head" to "this type of pickle we're in is hard to dill, but there's always tomorrow still". Lame. I want the old hype background clips back. The comedic intersections like in Criminal or Get My Gun where he's doing some funny shit. A big one is that I want him to just talk again and not be fucking yelling for half the song. Despite what everyone says, I don't think him getting off drugs was what affected his music capabilities. I think him getting successful and no longer struggling (which is a good thing) is what affected his creativity. But some of his most creative and greatest songs (Stan, Guilty Conscience, Without Me, My Name Is) were just goofy shit or serious stuff that either straight up didn't happen or was based off of a true story that didn't happen to him personally. It shouldn't be out of the realm of possibility to get a new track like that.

His character voice that no one else can imitate! The perfect chemistry between Dre and Eminem! I really can't get enough of it. The ideas are great. No modern rapper can imitate this.👏👏🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥❤️❤️❤️
Man, the concept for this video is so epic. I love the concept of Dre being the angel and Em (Slim Shady) being the Devil (both existent in the protagonist's mind.)
When I was younger, I always wondered why the construction worker threw a lemon across the room lmao! Can't believe I thought his hat was a damn lemon.
I have always loved the cinematography of this video. Also, watching this now as an adult... there is NO WAY this shit would fly on TV now. Everyone is so sensitive with everything these days, even if it is just for entertainment. I miss the old days!
Man I remember waking up at like 6am back in 6th grade or some shit to try and catch this shit on MTV before the sun even came up. Wild how far we've come haha
I still remember listening to this song when the Slim Shady LP first came out, I was sitting in my bedroom laughing my ass off. The album was like nothing I'd heard before when it was fresh and new. I was 17 years old and I've been a fan ever since.
I actually figured that out while listening to this song in the car and I thought I was smart af, so I went here to share my smartness and you already figured it out :(
This video deserved a reward. Eminem looks completely out of his mind (hilarious) & Dre is awesome as the voice of reason. Cinematography & originality were all A+ , not to mention entertaining AF & has aged well. All of these scenarios could still happen in 2023.
Is it me, or is Eminem's music like a drug? I have been on a Shady binge for the past one week and I can't stop. Even though, rap isn't what I usually listen to.
@@conz8084 Em was a superstar, right out the gate bro. He was huge in the Mainstream, since the beginning. I was 12 years old when SSLP dropped in 1999, and almost every kid in my class, bought it. It was a must have. He was all over MTV & MuchMusic, ever since the 'My Name Is' video dropped in early 99. MMLP, definitely solidified him, as 1 of the G.O.A.T.'s though.
Are you kidding? If anything, there's more than ever. All you have to do is 10 minutes of searching online. Just because it isn't on the radio, doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
I've done searching online. What I found isn't a good outlook. But I'll always recommend Xzibit, Ludacris, KRS-One, Wildchild, Mos Def, Madlib, Wu Tang, Immortal Technique, Eminem, Poison Pen & Rhymefest for any newcomers to rap.
I always wonder what music I would of listened to if I hadn't heard this early as a kid. My cousins showed me this album, recommended for a Christmas gift, and the MM LP was the first album I bought with my own money.

Ashley Schmitz honestly I think we have to grab him and force him to start taking drugs so he will become slim shady again
Sólon Rafnsson Kid, drugs have nothing to do with it, he just changed.
dannyboy ummmm yeah.....drugs change you allot if you didnt know that....
dannyboy if slim didn't write half of his songs on drugs I don't think he be as famous. Maybe im wrong but drugs has a lot too do with it.
I hope Marshall makes a video for part 2… ohhhhhweeeeee
How the hell could someone write a song like this by themselves!??
By having talent!
That's one word for it...but then I listened to Kim again and realized he's also crazy. Talented but crazy.
Aduke Webb
Yes I think lot of geniuses bit loo la..like Van Gogh, salvadore Dali, Mozart, Wacko Jackson. Go make yourself nuts then perform mate! Lol. Happy writing!
he did not make it by himself dr dre helped him
No he wrote the song entirely by himself, both his and Dre's part. That's what im so amazed by. Dre has said it before
This should be in billions
its an 18 year old video trust me if this was new it would have much more but yeah i agree
I love the argument between Dre and Marshall, that was great
I did too it was awesome
Still one of my fav ss songs
why have I never seen the music video for this. xD that ending scene lol!
Ryan Wazowski Let's just say the ending escalated quickly
it escalated for yelling to shooting brother 👺🔫
thats what happens when you grow up to fucking justin beiber
Juan David Avendano Who grew up to JB? Surely nobody in these comments. LOL
they use to show this on vidoe music box...all the time
This song is still amazing even in 2018!!!!
Memories!!!
This Song will always be amazing !!!
Tyler Shaver IKR every eminem song is
Yep for surr
I hate it when listening to album cause explicit version doesn’t have the corse
The thing I love most about this masterpiece other then the explosive chorus “these voice these voices”, is how good it still sounds and how gritty and descriptive the lyrics are after they had to clean them up for radio. It just shows the truly superior rhyme flow Eminem and Dr.Dre had on top of there brutal dynamic
Eminem is actually the writer for both
look at the flow🔥 ruclips.net/video/9m_AVKCNCqc/видео.html
It's a masterpiece of singing about rapping a 15 year old girl your sick bruh
@@Not2shabby420 you a straight weirdo dawg

@@pattfromwiisportsresort8566 yes it's not...sad
i never understood why the MV version was so different than the album version
I love eminem's weird body movements in this video, they're too funny to watch.

Bruh Fax 🤣
He moves like the bad guy from Men in Black.
I mean the roach (spoiler) not Will Smith.
Lmfao
This has surprisingly good effects for 2000
Praying for Dre ❤️😭😭😭

I like razer better there cheaper and more comfterble don't know about sound
Comfterble
u know that dre made more money with his headphones than with all his music etc? all about the money
***** comfortable*
This song was shocking at the time, but I'm impressed again after seeing it again. The part where Eminem stirs it up in the second half to Dre is crazy. His character voice that no one else can imitate! The perfect chemistry between Dre and Eminem! I really can't get enough of it. The ideas are great. No modern rapper can imitate this.👏👏🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥❤️❤️❤️
This is the very clean version 😂 I love the dirty version
Satan 👿 gossiping in you're ear 👂 😮
Everytime I have to made a decision this song pops up in my head
Dr Dre: 1
Eminem: 1
Both : 1
i think we need a part 2
We are.
Ksi and Logan
I'm so sorry for disrespecting these legends it's just too perfect 😂
Kill Shot When he convinces Stan to raw dog the 15 year old chick
@Kill Shot he convinced dre and grady to kill his wife lol
Didn't Dr. Dre win 2?

One of Eminem’s most underrated songs
didn't even know there was a video until a couple months ago
underrated?!
when?!
it's a classic
@@zimriel it played on TRL constantly in 99
@@thesunnynationg this song rarely gets talked about my guy
Man, the concept for this video is so epic. I love the concept of Dre being the angel and Em (Slim Shady) being the Devil (both existent in the protagonist's mind.)
When I was younger, I always wondered why the construction worker threw a lemon across the room lmao! Can't believe I thought his hat was a damn lemon.
😂😂😂
i read this as it was happening in the video
I read dis and cut some chicks head off
Lol that’s adorable
Who ready for part 2?😩
I have always loved the cinematography of this video. Also, watching this now as an adult... there is NO WAY this shit would fly on TV now. Everyone is so sensitive with everything these days, even if it is just for entertainment. I miss the old days!
Sometimes, I don't understand the world today.
@@thesoftersideofsears why are you on youtube watching this video anyway to be able to see this comment?! if it is so awful?? lol.
@@LindaBell-ube Hi Linda. I think you're hot.
@@LindaBell-ube 2020 is way more awful
There is worst things in songs nowadays plus the song gives a good side and a bad side. Ain't nothing wrong with that.
I love the chorus.. idk why they never added it to the actual song.
Cuz if they're allowed to add moaning noises for the third monologue, they might as well.
I kneww this song had a chorus. But i didnt hear it last time i listenend to this song
There is an uncensored version with the chorus added, but it still uses the different narrator like in the album version.

Agreed
Man I remember waking up at like 6am back in 6th grade or some shit to try and catch this shit on MTV before the sun even came up. Wild how far we've come haha
I just love Eminem so much
I still remember listening to this song when the Slim Shady LP first came out, I was sitting in my bedroom laughing my ass off. The album was like nothing I'd heard before when it was fresh and new. I was 17 years old and I've been a fan ever since.
I was one when I first heard this O_O But I still loved it! This version is a bit strange tho
24 years later still a masterpiece
I'm excited for Guilty Conscience 2
Uncensored version is so much better
Yeah this is so cringe lmao
Ikr
EthanBenji02 where is it at
@@neekawilson5053 you probably found it by now but if you didnt just search guilty conscience eminem. Its the audio version from Mmathersmusic
We gotta have a censored version as well since the original might offend absolutely no-one
dre "wins" first, slim "wins" next, then dre turns and sides with slim and they both "win"
So true in real life too!Man ,you are a really good observer
I actually figured that out while listening to this song in the car and I thought I was smart af, so I went here to share my smartness and you already figured it out :(
Slim actually convinces and "wins" him too, he usurps everyone lol
@Dark Souls nah
Dark Souls
Did you pay attention
Stan f*cks the girl and leaves her at the doorstep.
This video deserved a reward. Eminem looks completely out of his mind (hilarious) & Dre is awesome as the voice of reason. Cinematography & originality were all A+ , not to mention entertaining AF & has aged well. All of these scenarios could still happen in 2023.
Had to come back to this classic after the 2nd one dropped 🔥
Eminem's mannerisms here are hilarious, why he look that way lmao
because that's how he do
hhh
Is it me, or is Eminem's music like a drug? I have been on a Shady binge for the past one week and I can't stop. Even though, rap isn't what I usually listen to.
Same
I'm going thru that at the moment. I just discovered ( well for me) Eminem. WHY. after all these years 😭
Same
Ayla7650 thats exactly what im going through i barely discovered him too
Ayla7650 How did you barely discover what is considered the most successful and popular rapper of all time. Eminem is a household name.
Why is this underrated! This is gold!
This was back when he was new and raw not as mainstream.
His work really took off with the Marshal Mathers LP
@@conz8084 Em was a superstar, right out the gate bro. He was huge in the Mainstream, since the beginning. I was 12 years old when SSLP dropped in 1999, and almost every kid in my class, bought it. It was a must have. He was all over MTV & MuchMusic, ever since the 'My Name Is' video dropped in early 99. MMLP, definitely solidified him, as 1 of the G.O.A.T.'s though.
This is why Em is the greatest
Because he admitted to sleeping with a 15 year old?
A Little piece of my soul is lost every single time I hear a cuss word taken out of a Slim Shady record
It's crazy how many people come back to this song every day even after 23 years it's a masterpiece ✨

Eminem is the last rapper for young people born after 2003. I feel pity for them because theres not many rappers left.
I don't like some of new generation rapper but just Kendrick hold legacy of rap.
Are you kidding? If anything, there's more than ever. All you have to do is 10 minutes of searching online. Just because it isn't on the radio, doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
Exactly @Jake Wertz most mainstream is shit but talent is still out there
I've done searching online. What I found isn't a good outlook. But I'll always recommend Xzibit, Ludacris, KRS-One, Wildchild, Mos Def, Madlib, Wu Tang, Immortal Technique, Eminem, Poison Pen & Rhymefest for any newcomers to rap.
