Koechlin's music is always very interesting and prompts you to wonder why he wasn't more popular.

Yet another introduction to a musician I was unaware of and whose music it would be tragic to miss. Thanks again WelleszCompany!

The performance is by Michael Korstick, a German pianist who plays a lot of French music. His Debussy is spectacular, too.

Wonderful music, so deeply thoughtful, and very much unlike Koechlin’s quite academic style in many of his [chamber] works. I sure wish I could find the score and parts to his String Quartet #2…it’s by far the best of the three. He orchestrated it as his Second Symphony but did not shepherd the publication of Quartet #2. BTW, there’s got to be a better painting out there than the one that accompanies this excellent performance. LOL

Stirling Newberry - Have you never been tempted to click just underneath the video title..... where it says SHOW MORE. You should try it sometime, it will open up a whole new world for you.

@@SSNewberry - Stirling, tell me, what is a "pase"? Is it anything like a "page". Don't feel sorry for me, at least I understand what happens when you click on the Show More button.

Reminds me of Eric Satie, somehow.
