I don't think I've ever posted a comment on RUclips before, but you guys really deserve a huge shout out. I've been searching all over RUclips for basketball fundamentals that a beginner can understand - as in 1st and 2nd graders - but most of the videos are hard to follow (for young beginners) because often the speakers talk too fast, and the moves are too fast as well. Your slow motion shots and easy-to-follow explanations are SO HELPFUL. And because the videos are VERY short and very specific, the concepts are easy to grasp, and the topics are easy to find. You did a great job. Thank you so much!

I've loved basketball my whole life but tbh I've never really understood it fully such as the different defences, positioning, and different calls, so tis video was very informative and will help me to play better.

What should a beginner do to start basketball? I am 13 years old, I’m around 5ft6, 5ft7 and I have no prior experience with out of school sports.
Update three years later: no one told me what the fuck to do, they just flexed their height and argued in the replies.
I never ended up playing basketball either. But I'm pretty into music and I spend my time practicing drums, trumpet, guitar, bass, piano, and specifically jazz in terms of area of study.

I went to my second or third live basketball game last night with my brother. I didn’t really have a side until the woman in the row behind me started slamming on a seat a few down the row from me and screaming for the team my brother’s school was playing against. Out of pure spite, I supported my brother’s team and they ended up winning the NCAA championship for the Southland conference. A victory has never felt so good.

Come on, man. How many points is a dunk? How many steps can you go without dribbling? How do you get 4 points from a shot? That's some basic stuff I wanted to know.
Dude, dunks are only worth 2 points because they're on the field goal. If you want 4 points then score the first offense, and second if you can get a steal or get contact with the opposing team for fouls so that you can get 2 free-throw shots. Simple.

I’m probably late but if you’re laying it up you’re allowed to take 2 steps and no more. If you’re dunking it’s the same rule. If you’re dealing with traffic I recommend taking euro steps to get the easy layup
dunk is 2 points 3 steps without dribbling the most u can get from a shot is 3

Here is me trying out for the 4th sport in my school, I've made cross country but I didn't make volleyball or cheerleading so now I am going to tale advantage of the girls basketball no show team and tryout at the end of January. This runs concurrent with Scholastic/ Quiz bowl at my school, so I'll definitely be doing both but I'm too short for basketball so I'm having doubts if I'll make it or not. I hope I do, and I'm watching YT tutorials to actually help me

It depends if u have dribbled it already and u lose it and u pick it and dribble it afterwards that would be a violation but if someone lost the ball u can pick it
