One of the first games that truly enchanted me. I didn't speak English back then but boy did I annoy my family continuously asking, "what does that mean?" 😂 I was 6 when this came out but I'll never forget how happy I was when I first cast the light spell in the caves and everything lit up. Mind you, those were top notch graphics. Like Doom but with complexity.
This is one of the most evocative CRPG soundtracks of all time. The Icewind Dale Plains 2 song (28:08) is a personal favourite and still pops into my head sometimes, nearly 30 years later.
Holy Shit! How awesome is this music? Really badass! Rocks as hell! Never played those old DnD-Games back in the 90s. I think i missed some gems. Strahds Possession has also superb music!
do you guys also have the bug in the game where the music stops after battle and has to be turned Off and On again in the options? my music stops and does not come back
I had no idea the music for this game was this good. I had played Stone Prophet when I was a kid, and I remember it had great music, but this one is also amazing. Every single track is groovy, different, yet coherent with each other. I can feel A LOT had gone into making these. Respect.

I know one of the other unknown tunes, but need to play the game again to confirm; I don't want to tell you any misinformation.
@@syllogism 1:58:05 is a point in the Cavern of the Driders where the player characters use a Scroll of Spider Shape given to them by a drider named Maznafein to cross an impassible chasm (as a huge spider) over a web. Hope this helps!
felt so good when I found the Bracers of Giant Strength so now I don't have to worry about carry weight anymore, and my character doing massive damage LOL
@@Pythoner It’s definitely better than the other Ravenloft games in my opinion. I think the gameplay still holds up, and I guarantee you that I would have loved the game even more if I played it on the release date. To each their own. Would be cool if someone updated the soundtrack.
wish there was some kind of Pass Through Walls cheat, because these maze caves right at the start of the game was a major disappointment.... it's so sad seeing these big maps that are ultimately vastly empty, the Dwarf floors are so empty it hurts, not even enemies on half the rooms
it's also very strange to play an RPG where you barely gain any Levels... at least compared to Stone Prophet where there is a sense of getting stronger and stronger

Running the first session of my custom Evil Drow Underdark campaign today. Definitely going to be using some select tracks here for the session.

Yes, and it's pretty crazy how nearly every area in this (and the Ravenloft games) has a unique battle theme.

I imagine this is exactly what Dungeon Synth as a music genre tries to emulate.
So, this is like Dungeon Synth but more authentic.

it aged decently, but it was never a fantastic game in the first place. great soundtrack though
