You have to go into expert mode under the instrument cluster menu. Then you have to look for the German writing that includes "volume." Then you have to choose the 8.5 value. Then select code to increase fuel tank capacity.
Phew, this will save me a time off a work trip that's too close for work to buy a flight but about 100 miles too far to drive without 1-2 charge stops (and the companycars are too big..i hate driving those monsters).
thanks for the video. I've read on the forums that you should backup your settings so that when you do take it to a dealer and they touch it.. and blow away your settings you can recover those. can you show the backup and recover process in this app too? like backup a section. change something and then recover it from backup.
Thank you for the great video, and I am going to code my i3 rex as well. One more question here, my i3 warranty will be end in Aug 2020. Any impact on the warranty after coding?
It really depends on your dealership. Coding a i3 is a little iffy when it comes to warranty. It you want to be completely safe and not worry and then code it.
Hey! Have followed your video but keep getting a "ERROR coding of the ECU failed" message in Bimmercode. Can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. Thoughts? Thanks-
Thanks for the great video. I bought the adapter from the link below. But mine doesn’t give me any control in ‘instrument cluster’. It just shows ‘no data’. I asked the buyer about this. They said their product doesn’t give you control in that section. I see yours is black while none of the adapter in the link is. Did you buy it from anywhere else? If so, do you mind to share it with me. Thank you very much!
I can’t comment on the snow performance because last winter we didn’t get much snow in Little Rock. But these guys seem to think it performs pretty well. www.bmwblog.com/2016/01/06/test-drive-bmw-i3-electric-vehicle-winter-update/
Do you have to set the Range Extender settings each time you recharge the car? I know you don't have to recode, just wondering if you have to change it on each startup or recharge?
Coding the REX and changing the gas tank capacity to 2.4l were the only two I did. There are a bunch of other small things you can change, like folding in the side mirrors, when you lock the doors.

Which dongle did you buy?
I did it 2 days ago and it works it with a bmwi3 2016 thanks
Thank you for the step by step instructions. BTW, the device is no longer listed at Amazon.
Thank you kind stranger! 😂 this is exactly what I needed!

This was incredibly helpful - thank you!

Honestly if I had to go to the dealer I’d just plug the vgate back in and change the two settings back. It takes under 5 mins to do.
Your Amazon link for Vgate adapter is no longer working? Is there an updated one?

Hey I subscribed to your page and I don't see any links too the vgate obd adapter or link to the download..
Does anyone know how to code for the 2014-2016 BMW i3 Control Unit, KLE Convenience Charging ?
Can the BimmerCode app (free version) turn on the range extender and open the full range of the fuel tank?
no, you can only change settings with paid version

This was great-worked for me thanks!
How is the car's suspension??? Dies it drive well in snow??? (Skinny tires) I live in NJ and I'm seriously thinking about buying a pre-owned i3.

Actually skinny tires cut through snow better than wide ones, there are demos on you tube.
I’ve seen some youtube videos but again this winter no snow. It’s hit or miss each year whether we get snow in Little Rock.
How many more miles do these options give you?
Any major issues so far with the i3?
Where is the link to the products
The Amazon Vgate link is still broken..
How do you turn off the ASG?
Thanks, gonna buy one in 2 months.
very nice video, I have an electric tho

Nice video. Who is Alice's poolboy?
The Vgate wifi adapter is no longer available. Do you have a recommendation for something else?
Veepak.. you can check the website for all compatible products
Thank you for the video
Your welcome!
The Amazon link is dead.
Can the 95MPH limiter be removed?
Nope. It’s a fixed gearing system and it’s geared to the maximum RPM of the electric motor.
Great video!
Thanks!
2:36 3:13 HeadSET unit... ok.
is any list with explain all of the coding mods?
You can download the app and check demo mode to see everything possible
Can you use a Bluetooth OBD2 dongle?... or just WiFi?
There are Bluetooth dongles that work but they are not that reliable. The WiFi one worked perfectly for us.
Can anyone tell me is it possible to code the i3 to ad "Speed Limiter" as an option?
Will any wifi or bluetooth odb 2 sensor work?
Check the website for all compatible obds
Can you code all years (2014 through new 2019) of the BMW i3? If not, what years?
You can check the website for all compatible cars
@@jg_media9 Which website exactly? Thanks.

"Problems" not "issues".

Chris where would I find closing the mirrors?
