This series is very good, it's entertaining whilst giving you decent awareness of politics, hope you keep doing them :)
I like this way of talking through and presenting the talking points. Well done Miranda and Robert! more please!
5:29 sick of hearing this trope "Rishi gave you furlough payments", as though every chancellor of the last 25 years would not have done the exact same thing. He should not get a pat on the back for behaving 'normal'.
perception is reality in politics - its not about whether he deserves credit, its about whether he'll get credit
@@randomname285 For the first, he doesn't, and the second, not going when Truss lost her budget says it all. Will we even see another election in the next 13 months? His plans to do away with the Human Rights Act go beyond immigration, you should see the contract they tried forcing on Cummings' weirdos and misfits - as close to indenture slavery as it gets.
And where is Ester McVeigh, minister of Common Sense, to let us know which proper grown up is in charge?
Her title is WokeFinder Genral
And it's a sad and pathetic indictment of where the Tories have sunk too
Didn't she do the weather on ITV? The Wincey Willis of our times?
They have reached the bottom of the Marianus Trench and have started digging.@@SlowhandGreg
There is no coming back for the Tories after 13 years of failure & incompetency.
Labour spends all the money and then the Tories are forced to cut costs everywhere. A decade later and everyone complains about Tories being forced to cut spending, as the recessions and poor economy weren't caused by Labour in the first place!
@@ShreN_ Spent all the money? What a nonsensical thing to say. Budgets are revised on an ongoing basis as the money raised by taxation or borrowing and money spent on expenditure, continue to rise and fall, based on the actions of the government of the day. The amount of money in the economy is literally unlimited (quantitive easing) but the value of that money will depend on the perception of the trajectory of the country issuing it.
Did Labour leave The Conservatives with a suboptimal balance sheet, yes, and now The Conservatives are returning the favour.
I am in awe of the special effects. Great work.
voting for tories to run the country is like voting for jimmy saville to run a nursery

You can bring in twenty new health secretaries - what the NHS needs is money and investment. It’s really very simple.

+ really enjoying these - breaking things down in a really interesting and entertaining way 😊
This is ace!
Whelk stall? I see it more as a brewery/ party venue...
In which they *still* couldn't organise a piss up...
I like the way she keeps pushing Northern Ireland further away hahaha
The NHS already is not able to cope…
This week Stockport Library has NO maths books for GCSE LEVEL and abov,e on the shelves. Manchester Central Library has 2. Five years ago they had about a hundred. The importance of maths?
🤡 I can see the Orkney's, can we start again with your map! 🤣🤣🤣
Second and better!
We need a change
Is this programme their comms department? What are they doing? Check whether they are on course to meet their promised targets. Why are you discussing instead how they should frame them going forward?? What rubbish
Double the rents, that'll make them wet!
Five more years, huh? No more bacon sandwich, no more Corbyn.
£450 ? If you are lucky that is how much your mortgage went up by per month. It is also close to some energy bills per month. F**ck them.
What would happen if they dump VAT from 20% back down to , say, 10%
We would lose lots of money in reduced taxation (not 50% as people would spend more if things are cheaper, but they would not double their spending just because some things might be 10% cheaper assuming the retailers even pass along all the savings).
Also as it would increase consumption, inflation would increase more) which would likely negate any price reductions).
Very simplified explanation I know, but broadly speaking this is why the Bank of England has been raising interest rates, to help cool down the economy. Tax rises would have a similar effect, but of course the politicians get the blame when that happens (much more palatable to blame the BOE)
Does Miranda speak Greek? Her “S” is really greek (written)
There's no coming back from here. Only City traders support him now.
Tbf for labour for at least the first term they can keep throwing tories under the bus and unless theirs impressive disapline labour can break promises
Thoughts on David Cameron being put in the House of Lords after wanting to abolish it in 2012
Im sure Lord Cameron is now a strong defender of the need for the Lords 🙄

Normally, I like this show, and as a piece of entertainment, your energy and chemistry remained. However,
this felt like you were trying to dress this government up as being something at least moderately desirable when its clear to the country that its not only 13 years of incompetence, it's 13 years of being taken for a ride. I know the FT leans right, as pretty much all old print news does, but these pieces are much more enjoyable and sustainable if you are balanced.

The Tories have never 'restored' the UK economy. That is a tired myth, unsupported by the facts.
