- In this episode of The Debrief, former 22 SAS Trooper Big Phil Campion speaks to Simon Brown.
Making his way through the ranks in the REME Corps, Simon experienced postings to Germany, Kosovo & Iraq. A kinetic second tour of Iraq led to him being shot in the face by a sniper, resulting in the loss of one eye, and 20% remaining vision in the other.
Simon has become an inspirational force in multiple communities and outlets, coaching the Leeds Rhinos PD Rugby Team, becoming a councillor for Morley & working with Blind Veterans UK.

Interesting, ive heard/read a different version of the Op Telic 9 recovery job and one lad walked away with a military cross for the recovery job and saving his life while driving out the kill zone and a few bods pulling him out the tank back in Bas Palace.
Thanks for watching!
@@ForceRadioHQ there's a guy out there somewhere who done the recovery job on the ground with this guy and got a military cross (I think) for what he done on that job, there was loads of statements out there from other guys on the ground backing him up for the citation he received.
