When I used to play with my friends on Freedom Unite, my best friend mained at time HH and I almost only use Dual till today, most of the time we just need him to buff me to become a permanent poison status, whereas everyone else does their stuff. Nowadays he switched weapons and Plays on PC as I play on PS4 and Switch.

Once it's down, focus on the head ans break it's horn so we can maintain it's Fire mode after it's done with Dragon Mode. You can run using Fatalis armor or run Full Safi Jiiva armor, which is my most preferred armor to use for pure elemental dps. You can do Fire CB against Alatreon Ice mode too, but it's prefer to use Ice CB since it has higher damage against Fire mode. Don't bother using Dragon element CB. It's a waste of time on the first phase. Safi: Fatalis CB and spam SAED should be OK. Fatalis: Can run either with pure Savage Axe or all round between SAED and SA mode. Need evade extender Lv.2 if you don't want to get caught in some of its close range attacks.
But in truth our enemy isn't the monster in front of us....the true enemy is our sharpness gauge. We can kill the monster any time we want after that lol.

As a switch axe main who loves to spam elemental discharge, I once had a hunt with a two gunlances and a bow gun. I was dying laughing bc the sheer amount of explosion effects and particles was causing my pc to lag.
Lance is accurate on both sides. On one side the charging in for that sweet damage, but still getting slapped around despite a shield the size of Texas. Still my favorite weapon though.
Lance users have my eternal respect. It's so basic, yet elegant and strong. I keep trying it out but it just never feels right, so I go back to GL or CB (my main).

My only disappointment with World/Iceborn and Rise/Sunbreak is that Supernova from Gen Ultimate didn't become a Special Ammo I was really hoping to have a Toaster HBG with a Sun/Nova icon.
