Thank you John for your quick return mail. Now I started to make a key which is very similar to yours as you can see in my web site. And I will paint clear lacquer after I finished the surface to protect from oxidation due to the moisture in the atmosphere. It is just like the musical instrument such as SAX,Trumpet, Trombone, etc.
Hi John I have a question. Do you need some primary surface paint before you paint the acrylic lacquer ? For me it is very difficult to make a good surface after painting the acrylic lacquer. Katsuyuki Ii (Vic) Yokohama Japan
Katsuyuki Ii No what I do is I wash the parts in Acetone or some spirits to get all the polishing compound off and any oil or grease and then I put the parts in a ultrasonic bath for 30 mins to get them clean, wipe the parts with paper towels but don't touch them with your fingers as oil's from your skin will leave marks and then spray them with the lacquer don't brush and hang them up to dry.
John Wellings Oh I see ! Thank you John but I have no such a ultrasonic bath so I will clean the parts very carefully so that to avoid from any oil or greesy things. After I finish my Key I will upload it in my blog.
Im loving this series of videos John. Its making me want one more and more...
John tell me that you grew the tree that the block of wood came from! Never seen such detail workmanship!

I used acrylic lacquer on my keys the kind you get for cars, I would buy it in a spray can much better than trying to brush lacquer on.
Great stuff Mate.Greetings from Australia great videos
Thanks for your comment, atb John.
