      All of the Corleone's enemies hated Sonny with a passion because they feared his violent temper. Sonny was a hot-headed, ruthless psychopath who enjoyed violence, and this instilled great fear in the hearts and minds of his enemies. • @zkrhmn
    @zkrhmn 2 года назад +35

    Zero complaints about De Niro in Part 2 but I do wonder what could've been if Brando had come back to play a younger Vito, without the makeup, gruff voice etc, he may have found even more room to work with than he said he enjoyed the first time round. Unlikely if you consider the award debacle, but if we stay in this hypothetical world, he might've landed a 2nd Oscar in 2 years for the same role.

    • @zkrhmn
      @zkrhmn 2 года назад +5

      The idea of him as Vito but moving how he did in "Waterfront", especially in the scenes with Fanucci is tantalising... but even all that said, likely for the best how it went down, as De Niro's intro allowed for Pacino to flourish centre stage, Brando's return may have stepped on his spotlight.
