Used this formation on all fifas going back years, its by far the most attacking formation i have used, only weakness is thru balls down the wing behind the back 3 BUT if you set yiu def width low and depth between 30-40 it doesn't leave much space for them to work the ball into. You need 2 fast centre backs (i use wingbacks) either side of a big beast in the middle to win aerials. I use Joao cancelleo in left of back 3 reece James (orange card) on right and either ferdinand or mings centre to win aerials. My defence is solid
Do you not find that 7 players in the box drags your CMs into the box? Especially if they have high attacking workrates - in Seasons I've often used a modified 3-5-2 with LAM + RAM + one striker instead of CAM + two strikers just because the CDMs don't come as far forward, and tactics-wise only 5 players in the box to ensure that it's the 5 attackers that line up in front of the opposing goal with the holding midfielders staying back to catch counters
Do you personally start with this formation, or do you stick to 4-2-2-2 and use the 3-4-2-1 once your “stuck”gameplaywise ? Seems like a really big jump defending wise since I’ve always played with a back 4. Gonna try it out next WL though :-)
Have a practice with 3 at the back before FUT Champs, it takes a little bit getting used to, you need your back 3 to have lots of pace for counter attacks, once your LM and RM get back you are actually defending with 5 at the back with 2 CDM in front of them.
This is the formation I have been using for the past one year and I think my biggest problem defending is very quick tiki-taka between my opponents strikers, a quick lob through ball to my opponents speedy wingers because this very formation will always leave you expose at your wings because those wing backs will always attack the least chance they get.

Yeah it works on old gen but drop the depth to no more than 45 or yiu will get spammed down the wings with thru balls, also I wouldn't advise fast build up on old gen, either use balanced or long ball with direct passing
@@nazn6905 need to have low width on old gen due to the update EA did where they made your DEFenders leave bigger gaps between them and also the gap between mid and def bigger so width at no more tha 40-45, depth 40-50

This is actually the formation I use but with a lots of variation. I actually got my formation from Blue who is also a FIFA RUclipsr.
