1:39 - I know you recommend macadamia oil for cooking, however what do you think of ghee/grass fed butter for cooking? It has been gaining popularity recently for health benefits opposed to seed oils
4:24 - A somewhat recent study on the reverse grip bench press asserts that it activates the upper chest 30% more than Incline presses. A very well known trainer has taken it a step further saying you get the best of both worlds by reverse grip pressing on an incline bench. It’s an awkward movement that seems to be too much front delt. What are your thoughts?

You don't understand how excited i was to hear the name Jocelyn Pelletier's name come up. I remember seeing him in all the mags back in the day. Unfortunately, they only showed his current contest pics and they didn't provide any info in his history. He looked fantastic for his time, when he won his pro card. By "fall apart", I'm sure Dave really meant that he got off the sauce.
Time stamp someone to where the topic is actually about upper chest and not 30 other things? Thanks

It's in the description

Apologise to Lenny
I love seeing this comment on every video
I see your comment on every episode of Ask Dave. What did he do or say that he needs to apologize for?
@@olderetiredtreemahn3234 That must have happened on After Hours.
Stop it Lenny
Just keeps getting funnier
Charles Atlas i would consider pretty influential. every kid growing up in the late 60's/early 70's saw that comic book type ad and probably ordered the course. also, Brian Eastman was the spokesman for the 'universal' system of training which was also very popular.
BPC157 or TB 500 for helping with an ankle arthrodesis? He also mentioned the possibility of growing cartilage miraculously. I don’t think Dave understands the procedures he underwent fully. The cartilage is completely removed and the bone is cut but the ankle is fused so there is no need for any cartilage in the ankle at all. In terms of these peptides, they don’t grow bone, they don’t grow cartilage. Best bet is they help with incision healing but that is anecdotal at best. What Dave experienced is likely placebo effect. (This is coming from someone who has performed hundreds of these surgeries)
I have PCOS and agree KETO was very helpful for me. I saw a dramatic change taking carbs out. Once I’m done with my contest prep I was given spirolactone to use for acne and hair growth.
Dave should have that Canadian bodybuilder on that competed past his prime. I wonder if Dave remembers a guy that used to compete in the NY/NJ area NPC local shows (90s) that didn't look should be on stage but would throw himself into posing. Sometimes crowd was supportive, sometimes totally not supportive.
Great informative video!
Arnold is by far the most influential. The average person doesn't know who Ronnie Coleman or Jay Cutler even is.
Mike ohearn does heavy reverse grip
That's not the only thing he does
@Stanly Stud He is natty keep in mind he's been around since the 80s lol
I was watching this a couple days ago when you pulled it down! Lol
Same lol

Bill Phillips is a beast!!!
reverse suicide rip 1 rep max PR everyday
The reverse grip bench press automatically pinches your scapula together and you don't have to fight to keep them down. The palm pointing up gives you more space in the shoulder joints also gives you less impingement issues so it saves your shoulders. I can't believe Dave missed that given his poor shoulders.
Thanks. I give a try with low weight.
Yes, you gotta try it with lower weight first. The first thing you will struggle with is the grip, you will think it's going to fall off. So try it with light weight and build up. With the traditional benchpress, you know how you can increase your bench by gripping the bar hard and try to pull it apart with your triceps thus making it easier to push it up? You can't do it with the reverse. You will notice the weight is all on the front delt and trceps too for the 1st month, after a while you will learn to engage your upper pecs. It' s a shoulder saver, the shoulder pain is super common in BB, Rick drasin, John meadows etc etc all said they shoulders are F'ed from benching.
@@hong-enlin4651 I say try it on a Smith machine first.....particularly if you're alone. Gotta adjust a bit but it works rather well
Floor press is great for upper pec as well
This is simple. Nick placed in front of Andrew, right? So that question makes no sense. It’s not about structure. It’s about bringing the best overall complete package. Nick’s top to bottom balance from the front was a flaw due to his quads. Also, his chest needs to improve a bit. Sampson had no flaws. He can improve but had zero flaws. Andrew still needs thickness, lower back, glutes and hamstrings. Hence, Nick beating Andrew even with Andrew’s godlike structure.
Not sure how people do it. I just had a big mac and fries
Imagine saying Nick Walker is better than Cbum. Dave had to reach into another weight class to say mass beats structure, he just roots for mass monsters. Apologize.

Your drugs are kicking in saying walker is more complete than bumstead. That's so far wrong there isn't a comment for it. AND Samson has MORE muscle then Nick
I cook with clarified urine
From Lake Cresva dolphins 🐬 ???
I thought the piss dried up.
lol @ Ramadan
what do you thing of this GF9 SUPP
You know your app doesnt work with the newer android platform, so i cant use it
I love reverse grip bench for triceps. Only downside is once you get to a certain weight, you really do need a spot to lift the bar, which can be annoying.
I cook with clarified urine

Funny, tht's funny Dave, some of my best gains on biceps were zig zag ez curl bar and heavy cables

The upper chest is what makes your chest look more aesthetic. Especially when the upper chest is fully developed all the way across into your front delts.
Some people have the genetics to build a broad chest like Arnold and others like Nick Walker who just don't have the muscle tie ins to make it look broad no matter what they do.
I think I struggle like nick walker with chest as well it’s just like Clarida too. Huge delts but the chest is hard to bring up
