    I really appreciate that you're floors have a white washed wood look with the black pants, and a natural window. Other instructional sites don't have the same camera angle nor lighting. I'm excited to show my teacher this video.

    Awsome move! Especially since you got the leader spinning. We don’t get to that much in this dance. Thx.

    I love the pattern videos dearly. Also the videos wherein you simplify the dance into easily digestible pieces are extremely helpful. Thank you so much!!! Ya'll are wonderful.

    Nice break down of the pattern.
    My only request, recommendation would to be to also do the pattern leading towards and away from the camera to better see the rotational aspects of the move.

    For the lead ( and probably with a partner that doesn't already know the pattern) starting at 5:25 seconds as the lead rotates his shoulder...is there something I can go to encourage the follower not to come inside so we can establish the opposing lean through the walk around? As Rose says she's going to be tempted. So how do I convey a lead that she can follow if she does not already know this pattern?

    • @countrydancex

      We use a concept we like to call "puppet theory". Think of the leader as the puppet master and the follower as the puppet. Sounds awful when you say that out loud, but the concept helps us a lot.

  • @demreb1

    Awesome. LOVE the movement for the lead. Easy to understand - well explained, thank you for that. Do you have videos (or would you make one) where it shows - I don't know the right term - turns or spins for the lead? Maybe a double or triple rotation and where in either a side pass of whip that can be inserted? Thanks!

    • @countrydancex
      @countrydancex  4 года назад

      Glad you liked it! Thank you for watching :-) So, are you asking for a west coast swing pattern where the lead would turn?

    • @demreb1
      @demreb1 4 года назад +1

      @@countrydancex Yes. I've watched numerous videos of WCS competitions where leads will turn or spin 2, 3, 4 or 5 times consecutively. I'd be interested in something that shows how to execute the turn effectively as well as how to get into it (at what point of the pass or whip) as well as how to lead our follow so we're not just throwing them across the floor while we enter in the turns.
