@@underratedbones6515 I write fanfictions and I have found many writers like me who have a lot in common. We read each other's stories and really appreciate them. I'm finally happy. You will find people like that too.

Valiantsims Unfortunately, a large portion of readers don’t comment (and I don’t think that will change). Don’t be worried or stress about it - if you want, ask readers to comment their thoughts/opinions on the chapter at the bottom when you update to encourage feedback! Hey, guys, i have just started my first story on wattpad. It's called "The curse ". It's a fantasy drama. The scenes set in the early 15 century. It tells a story of a war of humans and soullesses (a creatures of the night which feed themselves with human souls in order to live). In its climax the king of the humans is cursed from the queen of the soullesses. She bonds the life of her daughter to the life of the king's son. Guys don't get sad for not getting to much reads. At first when I wrote a story it took almost 2 months to reach even 17 reads and 8 votes. But now, it just takes 12 hours. Don't feel low.
Hey that's cool, would u mind dropping your @ so that we can support each other maybe? I haven't published anything yet but I'm planning to publish one soon:)
Coconut Doomed Unfortunately, that’s the life of a writer. Any time you put your work out there, it’s susceptible to theft - even in print. Instead of stressing about whether or not someone steals your idea, focus on writing and loving your idea! And *keep writing* no matter what. Remember: ideas and plots can’t really be copyrighted - there are a billion books in the world. Do you think they’re all unique? (They’re not.) The great ones aren’t great because they’re original - they’re great because of the writing and because they’re LOVED. Great example of this? Harry Potter and Star Wars - son (Luke or Harry) loses both of his parents and bands together with a smart girl (Leia or Hermione) and kinda derpy dude (Han or Ron)...
I'm so scared of not being able to post regularely! I just build up a small fanbase of around 15-20 people who read my book and I don't want to disappoint them... The pressure is real 🙈🥵 Greetings from Germany btw🥰
This advice really helped me out a lot. I just started using Wattpad not too long ago, but I haven't published a book on it because I haven't had the time to do so. I plan to publish a book on there this summer though. And when I do, I will remember this advice you gave so I can write a good and interesting book. Thank you for the advice!
Follow @AbdirahmanAdenM. Story's called Right Yet So Wrong. Follows a school boy who falls in love with his school teacher, but his fixation distances him away from her.
i remember when i started, my stories were getting 300-400 reads. i restarted with a new mindset in which i just genuinely felt like i wanted to write and didn’t care about reads, and it actually improved the quality of my writing. i now only have 6.22k reads in my story, but i’m honestly so proud beyond words ❤️ can’t wait to continue writing in the future and achieve larger milestones update: it now has 9.42k reads! i’m nearly at 10k and i’m so proud of myself :) another update: it now has 15k i’m so proud omggg
When I began writing I had like just three readers, all three were my best friends. I'm not on any social media, but I made friends on Wattpad and if you are friendly and comment on their work, or vote for them.. I think that affects their interest in you and your reads will go up. I finished writing my book in one month and got around 5k reads in the time I began writing and finished it. I'm not popular or anything. I've got around 400 followers. Currently, it's been 3 months since I wrote it, now I have 10k reads and 4k votes :)
I started writing a book a couple of years ago with the intent to make it about 20 chapters and hoped to get 100 reads. It is now a 6 book series with over 80k reads, and over 300 chapters between the 6 books. Never give up!
I literally posted a book five hours ago, I keep checking to see if anyone has seen it and they haven’t :( I usually go back on the book before one person reads it and I check for punctuation and spelling mistakes 💀💀💀
@@suzannekruyswijk hi! I’m struggling a lot with reads, the only reads I have ate reads from me. Do you think you can read what I have wrote so far? My user is bella_247 and my book title is “Kidnapped In Plain Sight"
Definitely not! There are some books on Wattpad that aren’t even that good and they have millions of reads, because - remember - it’s technically a social network, so reads sometimes have less to do with quality and more to do with the rest of the things in this video. You have to go through the checklist - how’s your cover? Is it appealing even when it’s a tiny thumbnail? Are you using tags correctly? Is your title unique? Is your description well-written and attention-grabbing? Are you engaging with other people? Are there major spelling/grammar/formatting errors?
jandralee The cover is appealing or so the people I’ve shown have said. The issue I may have is grammar and spelling mistakes. But, I have run everything through grammarly I just need a Beta reader. Also, maybe my stories plot is a little weird and not entertaining enough?
I just started writing a fantasy-themed book 2 weeks ago. I was writing on word and decided to post on wattpad as well. So far I have 600 reads and I've revised it a lot of times.
Here's my tip -If your going to create a story try to get some of your chapters shorter, then try to update more daily like she said, that way you can add more chapters to your story so that u get more views. -And also try to use some relatable and logical story so that the people who's reading it won't cringe. -Another one is to make the story cover cooler. Try to edit it more, effects and all that so, for example the peoples who's reading might wanna be interested to read yours. -Also when your going to create a story chapter you can see a line wich would be where you add the title. I recommend you doing this Who's There (the beginning). -For best ways to people would be more updated to your story is to add a suspence. This are just the tips that kind of help me out, and for like a few weeks and days, I have finally reached 100 views. Also what I use to edit my story cover is "Over" sometimes I use PicsArt. And also my story title is "Who's there?" if your interested to read it. My user is damn_bruh123
I love how upbeat and cheerful you are. Plus your voice and smile is so genuine . I just started using Wattpad and found this very helpful! Thanks for taking your time to post this great video even if I’m a few years behind.
I come home, and begin to get spammed by notifications. This one stood out among the most - and hopefully it'll help. By the way, this is Tartaru00s, or whatever my name is now...
Wow, this was really reassuring. I was wondering wether I did everything right since I'm not getting enough readers to be satisfied. I was doing everything mentioned in the video, and am so glad to hear that all that was wrong was my expectation of how long it will take. Thank you, you made my day 😊
Honestly, I'm a young "writer", as a person in High School who's always gotten great grades in English, hell, been in AP / Honors English since 5th Grade, to me I think the absolute most important thing is this: A constant upload schedule (with decent ish word length I guess, but mostly just consistency). I won't lie, I'm good at writing things from an academic standpoint, but my writing otherwise needs a LOT of work, and I'm fine with that! I'm mostly just writing for fun right now, chillin with 8 reads and enjoying life, I've got a bit of it planned out but for now I'm letting my mind lead the way, and it really helps me just sit down and write every night. If I'm writing exclusively to try hard and get more views, it's just so much difficult to gather that motivation to stop playing games and start writing, but being able to just chill, think of a fun plot, and write about it, even if it's cheesy, not very in depth, or plain characters, makes it much easier to sit, think, write, and publish. Thanks for the tips though, and I hope that they end up helping many other beginning writers like me along their journeys!
i started reading your books ( the ides of july , lost + found and fragile ) and i am obsessed ! keep writing more and thank you for these wonderful tips. i just started wattpad but was perplexed( my name is clementine on wattpad )
I've been on wattpad since 2015. I've had friends on there who have already become popular and their books are now those paid ones. It makes me jealous I wont lie, escpailly since one of the authors has stolen some of my character names and some plot ideas ... sigh. I've been trying to make a book, without abandoning the book or just disappearing off the app and then returning again (I kinda hate the app sometimes). Wattpad for me is really enjoyable, I really like writing stories, but I'm just struggling with it for some reason. Also I'm currently writing a new book that I've just started today. I'll edit this comment in the future and see how far it goes. 😬
It's so sweet that your replying to everyones comments. I have a quick question. I want to post an authentic story but I feel that people won't like it or even view it because it's not a fanfic
H.7_Islam So, an original fiction? Honestly, original fiction is very popular on Wattpad. Some genres are more popular than others (teen fiction is more popular than science fiction, for example), but Wattpad is actually starting to prefer original fiction over fanfiction in my opinion. One of my books just made the shortlist for the 2017 Watty Awards, and it's original - not fanfic. What genre are you looking at writing?
jandralee that quick reply tho 😂 I guess it'd be a teen fiction type of romance 😌 a person who goes through a breakup at the beginning of the story and just thinks about how it happened through the book
H.7_Islam Haha, I happened to be on my iPad and free when I got the notification. Teen fiction is the second most popular genre on Wattpad! I think you should do it!
jandralee lucky me 😌 I guess you get this a lot but do you think we could talk from time to time on wattpad. I think it'd be nice to see how different authors have different writing style. What's your wattpad btw
H.7_Islam Feel free! My Wattpad username is @jandralee (it's the same on every social media). I'm not able to read or give feedback on any books at the moment, but I always answer my messages and try to help out if I'm able.
This was honestly great advice! I'm trying to expression myself more on the app, even if my book has most of it's reads from me. I'm actually really proud of it, main reason why I want to read out to other creators and read their books and interact with them too!
I started mine in March. Starting this week I hit 400 reads on my 25 chapters. The biggest thing is to have fun. I usually post one chapter a week but have at least 3 chapters logged and ready to edit so if I don't feel like writing a chapter for a few days, I have some backlogged. Mine also isn't a fanfiction (original stories sometimes are harder to get reads on), and I've had some of my readers post on their boards about my story, one even gave me a shoutout on her Twitter. I didn't even ask, they just did this on their own and I was SO thankful. I give those readers shoutouts on my own chapters and/or boards to show my appreciation and I also read their work as well as comment, and vote to support other small authors. If anyone wants to share theirs please go ahead and share a link below (though I'm not into fanfiction sorry).

I started a new account in April 2017, getting around 9 followers in like 1 month. I started posting fanfics and at first, I was amazed to get 10 to 30 reads, and 2 votes. Later I created another book that got like 500 views and 12 votes. Skip forward to now. I have two books that have more than 10k views and over 250 books. My other books are also pretty popular. I've been in Wattpad for like a year but for reading.I recently got inspired to make a story but I'm having trouble with the summary and the way to write a good story.Do you have any tips?-By the way I love your advice (★^O^★)
Dani Lopez My best piece of advice is to focus on writing something that YOU enjoy. If you're worrying about making money or being popular, it's going to be a tough process - and it isn't very fun in the long term. Writing is primarily an art form - a method of expressing yourself - so it's important to keep that in your mind first and foremost.
You are so amazing and honest. I was getting worried but now i have realized it takes time. My book, OLLIE SAVAGE has only been there less than a week. THANK YOU

I'm sorry but I have a genuine question... I heard that wattpad does not give money to authors.. then why do people write there?? And ask for views?? Please help me by replying. Please
Pardeshi Aish well I don’t know if they give the writer money or not, I never thought they gave anyone money in the beginning, but I think a lot of people join first because they want to read and then start writing because they have a fun idea and want to make it into a story, but I’m not completely sure, I think it’s cool to Have a bunch of views and stuff
Pardeshi Aish yeah I don’t do it for money, I don’t think most people do it for money but I heard that some really good books can get tv shows and get paid that way
These are some good tips! I feel like it can be hard to get noticed (which can be kind of sad since I'd really love to share my stories with people), but I don't want to spam people! I'm gonna try some of these, thank you!!
Thanks for posting this! I'm new to Wattpad and really excited to get my writing out there more. These tips definitely give me some ideas on what I need to do.
I've posted 8 books, posting every other day, at a same time. I've used Grammarly before watching this video. The first few chapters got atleast 19 views but they gradually decreased, by the last chapter, it's 0. Advice?
This was really helpful! I've always struggled to try and make a good appearance, and I would try so hard that it was just go so bad. Btw, my username is @JessMarieGT on Wattpad. Thank you for sharing your advice!
You need to plan along like have an idea on what you want to post, like if it’s a story, have ideas for the future and the ending perhaps. If it’s one shot, you just write and erase and write and erase again but you’ll get there. Just let your mind and muse free and you’ll do amazing. My friend and I published a book and it’s still getting views and we are working on Book #2. It’s not about views and reads, it’s about enjoying what you write and what you post.
I’m not a successful Wattpad writer myself but there’s a theory you can apply to grow. Get all of the things you’re passionate about and write about the one that has the least books about it on wattpad, that way when the readers look for a book they won’t find loads of popular ones, they might find yours, whereas if you write about something that has thousands of popular books in it, it might be tough to get readers as they’re all reading the top ones.

Other than reads, I fear that SOMEONE would copy or steal the plot online of my story D’:
Coconut Doomed Unfortunately, that’s the life of a writer. Any time you put your work out there, it’s susceptible to theft - even in print. Instead of stressing about whether or not someone steals your idea, focus on writing and loving your idea! And *keep writing* no matter what. Remember: ideas and plots can’t really be copyrighted - there are a billion books in the world. Do you think they’re all unique? (They’re not.) The great ones aren’t great because they’re original - they’re great because of the writing and because they’re LOVED. Great example of this? Harry Potter and Star Wars - son (Luke or Harry) loses both of his parents and bands together with a smart girl (Leia or Hermione) and kinda derpy dude (Han or Ron)...
i stole a plot from a tiktok video on youtube the title of the youtube video was literally "Book ideas that should be a netflix shwo"
I'm so scared of not being able to post regularely! I just build up a small fanbase of around 15-20 people who read my book and I don't want to disappoint them... The pressure is real 🙈🥵 Greetings from Germany btw🥰

Is it weird that I have 60 reads and only 1 vote and no comments. Is the story that bad haha?

Right now I only have about 30 reads, but I’m still holding on. My wattpad is smooreb :) Thanks for the tips!
Here's my tip
-If your going to create a story try to get some of your chapters shorter, then try to update more daily like she said, that way you can add more chapters to your story so that u get more views.
I recommend you doing this
Who's There (the beginning).

Honestly, I'm a young "writer", as a person in High School who's always gotten great grades in English, hell, been in AP / Honors English since 5th Grade, to me I think the absolute most important thing is this:
A constant upload schedule (with decent ish word length I guess, but mostly just consistency).

You should report it of she stole your idea!

So basically the story describes their life afterward.

No I Don't care
