This had a great twist and ended up a surprisingly feel good story (when I heard activate the beacon to act as a grave marker I was like oh boy) outstanding story telling. My thanks to the author and the channel for uploading and sharing it on YT.
The most commonly known version is call The Battle Hymn of the Republic, but there's an earlier version called the Ballad of John Brown named after the abolitionist who died trying to start a slave uprising in Kentucky. There's a historical debate over whether that or the battle of Fort Sumter was the actual start of the Civil War.
I pulled up a version of the Battle Hymn and I found the first verse but the rest of the verses were not what the AI recited? I cheched the Jolly Roger reference but didnt find anything there either? Ill check Moby Dick next?@matthewreckamp4005
Now that's a story! No formulaic prose just good story telling. Much appreciated and enjoyed.
Brought actual tears to my eyes. Thank you
Same.
Yep
Besides crying this story was a refreshing story. Thank you
WOW!!! That was a great story! I'm not even upset that the Onion Ninja's got past my shields! 🙂
Well I got to admit, I definitely did not see that ending coming.
all good AI’s go to heaven.
Good AI? I call that an oxymoron.
"Hardly even a shield for micromedia rights.". Didn't know paparazzi were becoming so violent in space?

Loving it!
A touching story to be sure. However I found it funny that the A.I. voice couldn't imitate a glitchy A.I. voice, lol.
Kind of ironic to write about an AI doing good, given how many times I’ve read (and occasionally written) bemoaning AI writing HFY.
What poem did the machine quote?!
The song is called The Battle Hymn of the Republic. It was written during the American Civil War to denounce slavery.
