I too participated in toilet bowel. 1981, I was there by myself but others were going in as well. My problem that day was I couldn’t get out and nobody would help me. Finally I grabbed onto a rock and didn’t let go. I can see how others could get hurt or worse. Looking back I was young and had a great time. Thank you for doing such a great job filming this, Gods Blessings to you
Terrific and well-made video. Well narrated and filmed. Really enjoyed it. It's seems like a lot of extra work to make progress on your hike, place the camera, then go back and rehike it just to film it, but know that it really does add to the feel and character of the hike -- so well worth it from a viewer's perspective -- nicely done. I had to chuckle though when you stepped in that little puddle right after you talked about keeping your socks dry -- dang! I'm debating now whether as weak and risk-averse hikers to come see this spot. I definitely don't intend to swim there for a lot of reasons, but I would like to see it. Your video was both enjoyable and helpful.
It is a lot of work to set up a tripod, retrace my steps and do it again. But it's so worth it. I hate handheld selfie shots so I do all possible to avoid them. Regarding you debate whether or not to go, the hike is a relatively easy hike. It won't take you long to get there. Just make sure you have plenty of water., There is no shade so you will be exposed to the sun 100% of the trek. Thanks for watching the video!
Come on Hawaii! Just post signs with warnings of risks. You going to stop people from getting in the ocean when someone gets hurt. You need to let people go to toilet bowl. I had so much fun there in late 70s.
Unfortunately, the authorities can issue a fine of $1,000.00 if you're caught at the toilet bowl, so I wouldn't go unless you can risk it or afford the ticket. They often have guards with binoculars at the top of the hill. I really pray they re-open it one day, though... it's such a shame that it's closed now!

Thanks for posting. I used to love this place.
Thanks for watching.... Every time I went to Hawaii, I would dream about revisiting Toilet Bowl. I'm glad I made it a point to make that happen.

I didn't see anyone the day I went. Most people who get caught go through the Hanauma Bay parking lot, but I went a different route.
