Holy s@$@balls Mark. That ending was darker than a black cat in a tarpit at midnight in a moonless sky being watched by a blind man. Nice Kerbal voices too :P
*on munar colony* "The power couplers are malfunctioning. We have, like, three days to live." "Oh no worries, I'm sure they'll take a monstrous 3-mammoth-rocket with a huge crane to move the greenhouse and send a gigantic kiloton-ssto afterwards to carry a connection tube along with a rover and some casual full-scale construction equipment to assemble it all. Come on, it's no big deal."
When the propellant quantities look like telephone numbers... and this is one of the _smaller_ rockets I've seen today. Awesome! :D The kerbal chatter was cute, too. :)
So I decided to send Charon to help me build a colony on the Mun. There is (or isn't?) a little twist to the story that I hope you will enjoy. Anyway, you guys are awesome and you deserve only the best videos - I love you guys, you're the best! P.S. If you wish to see more technical details how this was actually build, a playthrough video related to this mission is available through cards.
I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe there is a mod called like Camera Tools that lets you do something with the camera to create all those shots with like static camera and craft going by, zooming in, etc. For the voices I'm not 100% sure what is used, but I know there is a mod called Chatterer that adds in something sounding similar (or maybe exactly). I believe they (the mod) uses sped up Nasa Comm recordings from the Apollo Missions. So it could be something similar here since a lot of people use Chatterer.
Well, I tried - but I won't tell you what the outcome was. I'd rather recommend downloading the craft and trying it yourself, with some sort of cargo attached. Amazing experience, highly recommended!
Watching this and am wondering what the visibility from Charon's cockpit is like? With it way in the back like that and off to the side, it's got to be an interesting view. :)
Y’know I never realized it until I rewatched this video but that giant ssto looks like the shuttle the autobots use to get to the moon in transformers 3
Ow!!! You are talented!!! Very cool and suprinsingly captivating !!! I with than someone who doesn't are fan of Ksp will love your job!!! Also the voices are cool!!! It's a detail but they're really cool and does the job well!!! Your shortcut inspire feeling. Like a true movie. Seriously its a really good job as in ksp than in the realisation of the movie And sorry if some word or sentences aren't well understandable.. I'm French, aaaaand I must admit than I don't speak really well english.. I've started learning English 3 years ago xD
Is this ship available for download? I've tried to fly multiple ships, and I can't get any of them above 330-350m/s or above 10,000m in altitude. I've tried all different kind of methods. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. You make it look too easy.
So, In the end the "magical boulder" was really a rock with lucrative resources. I thought this because wen I play the game with some of his mods (Mind you I didn't copy him, in fact I was playing the game with the mods before he started.) and I found literally 1,000+ rocks with 5,000 - 5,000,000 amount of resources.
I wonder if there is a mod that allows you to build a runway on the mun. That would be helpful and cool. You could also use it for future missions beyond the mun.
Well it was done in career mode, so reusability was really the key. I spent 80% of my total budget on those two missions and got most of it back. Cheers!
You should call this series "absurdly expensive space projects". And do another where someone forgets a pencil so you launch a multi million funds rocket to get it there fast
I can imagine, but all of this was done in career mode - a link to the playthrough series where are details are given are available through cards. Cheers!
Mark Thrimm hmmm... I thought having the seperation occur in the center and pushing a part up and a part down would've been a whole lot safer and more convenient
YEah, a new unit of space engineering awesomeness. To scale things, SpaceX booster recovery worth something like 0.63 thrimm. The Skylon SSTO would be about .8.
@@Damien.D I love this idea. Do you agree that Charon in this vid would be a little over 1.8 Thrimm? In real life imo starship is quickly approaching a 1Thrimm level, and when it's working with the super-heavy booster and landing on the moon it'll probably be about a 1.5 or 1.6 on the Thrimm scale!
It would be wicked if we could reshape the surface of the moon, and build a landing strip and stuff like that. Maybe harden the surface with microwave emitters, to create a solid surface.
you know... i dont understand how some people fly these monsters into orbit... i cant even fly my mk2 7 ton craft into orbit because it wont get faster then 1300 nice work
hi greatjob ! very well edited how do you manage to get no freez using a this big ssto ? got a good pc but mk3 SSTO are still painfull maybe because i dont use any joints reinforcment
nah, used audacity to reverse the whole video turns out the female voice is just a woman saying a bunch of numbers and the male voice flight reports of one of the apollo missions for NASA
hey just subbed you. impressive stuff there. i like sstos as well but got a long way to this level. can u tell me your mod list in this vid and how you made the camera shots?
Payload 40 tons? I've made a 108 ton ssto that was like 75 ton in orbit with the dry mass of like 27 tons. All that is by using two R.A.P.I.E.Rs and a single Nerv. Granted it wasn't a cargo ship, I just pushed the efficiency as far as I could. It should be capable of direct Laythe and back travel without refueling and manuevers around Eve, I made the whole trip but couldn't slow it down enough for Kerbin landing (I'm not as good at piloting). Also burns took forever even on x4 with a single Nerv pushing that beast.
Holy s@$@balls Mark. That ending was darker than a black cat in a tarpit at midnight in a moonless sky being watched by a blind man.
Nice Kerbal voices too :P
Marcus House yea but it was still really good
Marcus House and when will we see burbry again?
I'd say one thing : spooky ^^
Marcus House "holy space balls" is right! I thought something would happen... though I didn't know what.
Dang Marcus, that was one wicked good comment right there :-P
*on munar colony*

Hey it's Kerbal logic, what did you expect :)
At least it's all reusable... how expensive can it be with only fuel to pay?
GamingTeec ask Elon Musk
Yeah no big deal
Still better facial animations than Mass Effect Andromeda
15:51 that's what she said
Better than Matt Lowne
Mass Defect Andromeda
the quality of realisation of this video is incredible :O
Thanks! I'm glad you like it :)
i liked the little story at the end. btw, that explosion scared me.
When the propellant quantities look like telephone numbers... and this is one of the _smaller_ rockets I've seen today. Awesome! :D
The kerbal chatter was cute, too. :)
Valentina, ""All systems nominal. Wish us luck." I actually said, "Good luck." out loud. lol Good video as always...and man those ships are beasts!
all systems nominal. Oops, I accidentally tapped the S key. now our multi million SSTO is spinning out of control
Woah!!! The Charon is the largest thing I have ever seen created in the spaceplane hanger!
Go watch the Jotenheim by robbaz, I think that's what's how you spell it.
So I decided to send Charon to help me build a colony on the Mun. There is (or isn't?) a little twist to the story that I hope you will enjoy. Anyway, you guys are awesome and you deserve only the best videos - I love you guys, you're the best!

Mark Thrimm why you uploaded the same mission?
Mark Thrimm i love that you tyrned it into a cinematic to. Keep it up man I'm proud of you
Mark Thrimm Love your cinematics, they're awesome. How did you create them? Is there like a sfm or a GTA 5 editor for ksp?
I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe there is a mod called like Camera Tools that lets you do something with the camera to create all those shots with like static camera and craft going by, zooming in, etc.

on the toolbar to the right, what is that green cube thing?and what mod is is and what does it do???
To be completely honest, I enjoyed the commentary version of this much more. It's nice to hear everything explained with such detail.
This banter tho. It's top quality. All the remarks about Jeb, all the things with Val being really good at stuff. It's all amazing.
It seems that literally EVERYONE in the KSC is afraid of Jeb.His flying skills. And his badasserry.
This is my favorite youtube series right now.
I just run randomly run into this and its very well done, great music, editing and crafts. You just earned new sub!
I love that mark made it a cinematic as well very beutiful mark. keep it up
Wow what a great story. Awesome mission and awesome vehicles. Great job man. I love it.
"I'm glad you like it Bill. Cuz we need you to unload the tunnel." 😏
After watching this i really want a ksp story mode
that explosion blew up my ears, OWWW
I've seen the thumbnail, I saw the intro. instantly subscribed.
Amazing. I am speechless. Nice work.
Gonna rewatch this 10 times without Adblock.....
EPIC!!! - NASA must be drooling green with envy... - Fantastic Movies -
Hey, you should've used a 2 part clamshell fairing!
Well, I tried - but I won't tell you what the outcome was. I'd rather recommend downloading the craft and trying it yourself, with some sort of cargo attached. Amazing experience, highly recommended!
the tail- did it disturb the fairing?
Not the tail, but it deploys... very vigorously.
And sideways, I guess?
Benjamin Gerrans, You can rotate the fairing deploys up-down instead of left-right.
Mark, that view at 8:14 is just awesome...great job on the vid...looking forward to the next one :)
Have a great day.
great job my friend keep up the good work it really looked like they were a team loved it
You deserve far more subs than you currently have. This was amazing!
Well thank you Tyrion :)
Amazing video! Looked like a fun project!
Watching this and am wondering what the visibility from Charon's cockpit is like? With it way in the back like that and off to the side, it's got to be an interesting view. :)
Charon likely runs via camera feed.
THE RETURN OF THE MAGIC BOULDER! DO NOT TAUNT IT
It's fantastic! I'm absolutely impressed! Thanks for video.
Nice job with the editing! Wow!
I'm glad you like it - took me some time and I really hope you guys will like it :)
Y’know I never realized it until I rewatched this video but that giant ssto looks like the shuttle the autobots use to get to the moon in transformers 3
That was awesome man. Love these little story videos.
Great job !!!! This series is amazing
Oh no. Oh no. OH YES, STORY MAYBE!? I LOVE KSP STORIES!
amazing work. really interesting and entertaining. keep it up starting to really love your vids
Thats better then some movies...! Big like dude :)
Warrior is one of my favorite songs! (ssto part)
I love it very much too - that's why I used it in the video!
Content like that is EXACTLY how you get subs!
Ow!!! You are talented!!! Very cool and suprinsingly captivating !!! I with than someone who doesn't are fan of Ksp will love your job!!!

FEEL THE POWER OF THE KEEBANOUTS !!!!!
ooooo, that was so cute how they allhad a relationship
Is this ship available for download? I've tried to fly multiple ships, and I can't get any of them above 330-350m/s or above 10,000m in altitude. I've tried all different kind of methods. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. You make it look too easy.
Damn. I need to get the Visual Enhancements mod work
Amazing video
So, In the end the "magical boulder" was really a rock with lucrative resources. Nice job! Now I want to upgrade my computer so I too can build Mun Base Alpha
Jake aka Remaggib get a Beta Max. Cheap and powerful.
this was an awesome video
Love it.
as always a good video.
I wonder if there is a mod that allows you to build a runway on the mun. That would be helpful and cool. You could also use it for future missions beyond the mun.
Extraplanetary Launchpads I guess does that for you. Maybe not a whole runway but you can build directly on the Mun.
Mark Thrimm Great video by the way
Impressive. everything is reusable in your flights.
Well it was done in career mode, so reusability was really the key. I spent 80% of my total budget on those two missions and got most of it back. Cheers!
Got that shit there faster than Amazon prime shipping.
How do you keep it stable during re-entry? Surely with all those engines at the back once the fuel is gone the COM will be far behind the COL?
what is the mod that you use for the spherical cockpit on the rover at 13:54
You just had to be like Matt Lowne and leave us on a cliffhanger like that.
Well you know, I learn from the best :)
Mark Thrimm Amen, man.
Your Space ship is soo cool
Your PC is SUPERB
btw what mod are you using for the Rover?
You should call this series "absurdly expensive space projects". And do another where someone forgets a pencil so you launch a multi million funds rocket to get it there fast
This has been done already many times. And my projects are reusable and therefore net expenses aren't that high :)
I'm not criticising, but as I sit here playing career seeing these launches I can't help but think of the costs of everything!
I can imagine, but all of this was done in career mode - a link to the playthrough series where are details are given are available through cards. Cheers!
Gotta love confetti fairings
Clamshell fairing spelled doom with this one. I tried it. Pretty epic experience :)
Mark Thrimm hmmm... I thought having the seperation occur in the center and pushing a part up and a part down would've been a whole lot safer and more convenient
very nice, do you have a team of builders, and video production that is quite impressive, and even more amazing if it's just you. Great Work.
We need to make a new size unit - 1 thrimm
How much would that be? :)
A LOT xD
Mark Thrimm 40,000 kg
YEah, a new unit of space engineering awesomeness.
To scale things, SpaceX booster recovery worth something like 0.63 thrimm. The Skylon SSTO would be about .8.

subscribed. wow :D
thankyou for making these!
Aw, it's awesome! How are you making this crafts?
Val beeing pretty flirty ^^
Man, crazy good!
Whenever I hear their voices I can't help but think back to Star Fox - SNES and the pilot's voices lol
beautiful
It would be wicked if we could reshape the surface of the moon, and build a landing strip and stuff like that. Maybe harden the surface with microwave emitters, to create a solid surface.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lunarcrete
You know kerbal space command did 40 tonnes to duna in a much smaller ssto
By the way love the ssto design
I did like the video it was very exiting
The innuendos are strong in this one...
I look at that SSTO as a big middle finger to physics XD
but then again, that's what us Kerbal players do just about everyday.
(Until the Kraken gets tired of us)
you know... i dont understand how some people fly these monsters into orbit...
i cant even fly my mk2 7 ton craft into orbit because it wont get faster then 1300
nice work
Thanks :)
My dude, I'm I'm digital media production and I'd have a real hard time doing better, excellent work 👌💗
wow....just wow! fuckin nice video! and the SSTO is just unreal...
That's epic... Wow
hi greatjob ! very well edited
how do you manage to get no freez using a this big ssto ?
got a good pc but mk3 SSTO are still painfull maybe because i dont use any joints reinforcment
Kerbal needs an animation series.
Over 40 engines? Wow.
Bill Nye the Science Guy!
You sir have built this thing the kerbal way: add more boosters.
Insane ships
lol are the voices just playing backwards?
nah, used audacity to reverse the whole video
turns out the female voice is just a woman saying a bunch of numbers and the male voice flight reports of one of the apollo missions for NASA
@@skinnedtomato9720 sounds like morphed Dutch tbh😂
The voices are all like that in game, they have been Kerbalised. All of the stuff is based from actual previous missions by nasa etc.
Epic. Nuff said.
OH FUCKING HELL YOUR SKILL IS INSANE and the realisation great When the next one :D
Is it still technically a SSTO, when it deploys the fairings?
Yes! Because it's already in orbit:)
Guardian of sikrit documints It can do what it wants once it reaches orbit.
Thanks for the video! Which mod did you use to get these nice textures (clouds, smoke, sky...)?
List of all visual mods is given here: ruclips.net/video/iq6wh50wSCg/видео.html
Thanks. Keep up the good job :)
holy...shit. I'm impressed. How attractive is this to The Kraken?
The fairing is the only Kraken portal in this craft. Everything else works OK :)
Wait who’s Deblenna and what video were they from?
Always there!!😁😁
Is that... The Magic Boulder?
I wish I had the patience to do this xD
how many mods were used in the making of these kinds of colonies? I really am hoping it's vanilla, like all of the structures and such.
IM LIKE THE ROVERS !!!!😇😇😇😇👍👍
hey just subbed you. impressive stuff there. i like sstos as well but got a long way to this level. can u tell me your mod list in this vid and how you made the camera shots?
I'm glad you like it! The mod list is available here: ruclips.net/video/wNa5f8nZus4/видео.html. Camera shots were made using Camera Tools.
love the vid
Thank you!
great domes, where can i download them?

Is this Overfloater but in 1.0?
