He was FAAAR to quick to point out it was in the texas constitution. @@jbm0866 I think that the USA is the *only* nation in the world, where the term "socialism" is used as a synonym for communism. In all of Europe "socialism" denotes the general idea, that the state should be agent of social equality. Now, of course, there is plenty room for dissent and argument there (as indeed the realities of European politics affirms). One may have different views on social equality, and one may have different views on the states role in social equality, or social justice. Yet, you will find very few European societies, that absolutely refuse the state a role in social (equality) issues, and few that are unwilling to engage (even if only in a limited capacity) in policies compatible with socialist ideals. (Hence, for example, the predominance of free education all the way up to tertiary education in most of western Europe.)
In other words; your statement about socialism only makes sense, if one accepts the understanding of socialism, that is only used in US popular political language.

Gaslighting is a form of emotional abuse that's seen in abusive relationships. It's the act of manipulating a person by forcing them to question their thoughts, memories, and the events occurring around them.
Gaslighting describes the systematic pattern of abuse by which the abuser manipulates factual information to give the victim the impression that they cannot trust their own senses. Most of us would recognise this as being part of the grooming process seen so often in cases of Child Sexual Exploitation we deal with. They may repeatedly focus on their own feelings in order to make the victim feel guilty for hurting them. Some predators may also engage in gaslighting. Gaslighting is a form of emotional abuse where the perpetrator makes a person question their thoughts, memories, and events they have experienced.

The USA never really dealt with racism. It was allowed to continue beneath the surface. The GOP has discovered it, and made it respectable again.
Underneath it all was a misplaced leniency towards slave owners in the aftermath of the Civil War, and the re-branding of the Civil War as a fight against "Southern" values and way of life (the southern identity), instead of for slavery. The South play victims instead of the aggressors of the Civil War. But in my history books, it were the Confederates who acted aggressively and fired the first shots, taking over Federal forts like Fort Sumter with violence.
If the fight had really been north against south, you would have expected the North to be the first to move aggressively. That proves Southern aggression was not to defend a "way of life", which no-one can take from you, but the right to keep slaves.
That same lie is being used to foment violence and aggression to this day.

I'd never seen an image of Cain before, but knew I'd heard the name, and had an image of dim, confident, middle-aged fat thug. (Yes, I know I shouldn't stereotype.) He was banned from Twitter after threatening Beto O'Rourke with his "AR" and refusing to take down the tweets. "My AR is ready for you Robert Francis" (O'Rourke's 1st and middle name.) Edited to be clear about weapon - Beto O'Rourke assumed AR15, as I did.

The Klan was started by 7 ex-Confederate soldiers returning from the Civil War. It grew in the Southern States which were primarily run by Democrats. That much is true. But as the South turned from Blue to deep red, the Klan stayed.and grew. Their ideas of white supremacy are rightwing and embraced by certain members of the Rep Party in Congress .
Look at a picture of the latest Congress. Democrats (men, women, young, old, white, coloured and Latino and even of differnt sexual orientation) Republics (mainly male (mostly old), some female, mainly white, some with latino blood and 1 black member)
In 6 yrs time, in 12 states, 1542 polling places were scrapped by the Rep. Party in areas and districts that saw a growint influx of coloured and Latino ppl.
The Rep Party is pushing new voting laws in 47 states that will in the end infringe on the voting capability of minorities of colour.
      How is that not racist?

Then Republicans, who also got rid of all those tarnishes, uses it in the right way to make sure there’s no cheating by anyone and the argument is, well look at what we did, by Democrats, with that phrase so that means your racist now....haha gotcha so good.
