Welcome to Week 3 of my Online Music Class. Today, we are going to focus on what scales are. This video I am very happy to share because to teach you scales, I had to learn them in depth so teaching you was equally rewardable for me.
I touch upon the topics of Mandra, Madhya and Taar Saptak, what is a C scale and how does it correspond to a Kaali Ek, among other details. Hope you guys find this video useful and stay tuned for the next lesson.

Finally doubts cleared.Till now i wondered how some people can play SaReGaMaPa.. from any key on Piano while i can play only from first white.. Now i got it and also the low pitched and high pitched scales get cleared.Thanks a lot for your beautiful and simplified knowledge sharing..Looking forward to get more advanced and valuable content from you Mam.🙏❤️❤️

Thanks. I have been practicing the Saptak for two weeks now. Everyday 30 mins morning and 30 mins evening. I also sing on mobile recorder, alone. And I can see the difference. Some small improvements have happened. I am sure by the end of 12 weeks, I would be okay enough to sing in front of friends. Thanks so much!

that is a very good tutorial, i even was goin to a music class and he didn't teach me in that much detal that you are doing for free. You content is much much better than the paid ones available online.

Just use major sclae formula - whole step- whole step - half step- whole step-whole step- whole step - half step to create scale from anywhere (whole step- skip one note, half step- the very next note) 🌸

The seven notes of the musical scale in Indian classical music are shadja (षड्ज), rishabha (ऋषभ), gandhara (गान्धार), madhyama (मध्यम), panchama (पञ्चम), dhaivata (धैवत) and nishada (निषाद). These seven swaras are shortened to Sa, Ri/Re (Carnatic) (Hindustani), Ga, Ma, Pa, Dha, and Ni.
