Likely because the voice actor switched from Daisuke Ishiwatari to his new main voice actor, Joji Nakata. Nakata just brings so much anger to Sol's lines. In +R, you can swap both Sol's voices back and forth between Ishiwatari and Nakata, so you can choose if you want Nakata as Present Sol and Ishiwatari as Order Sol, or whatever.
Well, according to Order Sol’s character description it’s basically Sol but more stoic, angry, and bitter. It reflects that part of his life where his desire to destroy the Gears was his main focus and needing what he needed to finish them once and for all. Especially if Sol was planning to face Justice
I always put O-Sol voice as Daisuke and normal Sol voice as Jouji in GGXX, i think Nakata's older voice fits present Sol, while Daisuke's more yelling fits O-Sol's (even more) impatient and constatly mad personality, but Jouji really does manages to sound angrier in O-sol than normal Sol
Geez, Nakata's voice fits so well with a character like Sol, both (Jouji/George and Ishiwatari) did a great job with the voice acting. But I'll always pick Nakata voice, he sounds way cooler imo, thanks for the video by the way!
By another hundred years, or something. O. Sol with Ishiwatari's voice and Nakata as "Present" Sol just feels right because it's past Sol with past VA and now modern Sol with modern VA. It's so fitting.
It's a bit difficult since that would involve ripping audio instead of a traditional Sound Test. Also, I'd need to be much more specific about what I do with specific character voices. Despite how many different unique games there are, there's still a lot of recycled combat script in the fighting game elements. For example, Zato has said the exact same intro for years "Let me show you a Darkness Deeper than Death". It's just a matter of having access to and recording all the different games where he says this. Another example is Ky... he has different voice samples in GG, GGX, GGXX, Accent Core, GG2, GGXrdS, and Strive, so accounting for all the nuances would be a challenge.
I actually enjoy Hikaru Hanada's take on Sol, myself. Though I hear Koichi Yamadera was in the running for Sol's voice, they just couldn't afford to hire him (until DBFZ with Beerus that is...)
What's REALLY scary, is that nobody has done a voice mod edit for Order Sol for Accent Core Plus R on PC yet, so that he can use his Slash voice set! I would also include A.B.A.'s voice from Isuka in that mod too, because she was a lot scarier sounding in that game.

AC+R is my fav of them all because his voice sounds so much deeper and intimidating!

While I like Nakata too, I like to pick Ishiwatari for Order Sol because he sounds younger. This and having different voices in Sol vs O. Sol is epic

Generally I go Ishiwatari for Sol and Nakata for Order Sol.
Daisuke has that feel of old anime dub, while Nakata has that feel of freaking POWER in a more modern anime.
