Awesome album. Probably one of the best modern thrash metal albums. This project turned 10 this year, it's a decade old now :). Still great. TIME IS UP!
I gotta say, this album was an instant classic for me once I got into thrash metal. It falls into place with Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets, Seasons in the Abyss, South of Heaven, and Reign In Blood. I'd give it a solid 9 or 10 tbh
I'll definitely give Havok a listen. I was a teenage metalhead and I've never lost my soft spot for thrash. Recommendation of the day: The Men. I listened to their album "Leave Home" for the first time yesterday and it gave me chills like I hadn't felt in months. Raw, noisy, muscular, and not quite like anything I've heard before.
I always look forward to your metal reviews, thanks to them I've discovered some of my favorite bands (Ghost, Nails). As someone else said, you should review Touche Amore's album next time you do a punk/metal review.
There's a large amount of people watching this, and a small percentage actually like metal, and quite a few utterly despise all forms of metal (even though they make it very clear that they've never listened to anything harder than Metallica at best) and the fans.
This is a sweet album and I would advise most people to buy it, this is an intense band but if that what you like this is perfect for you. Great Review Anthony.
Haven't been much of a fan of the Metal bands you review which is disappointing since I've gotten some hardass punk/hardcore bands off of you. But I watched this and cringed at the thought of a modern thrash metal band, let alone a thrash metal band period. But I gave them a try, by the 2nd song I looked up I was hooked. Nice find Anthony
who cares if people get angry when you review metal. or hip hop. i have a fairly versatile taste in music. so just about everytime you upload a review i check out the album. and its nice to hear more than a small section of the musical spectrum being reviewed. keep doing what you do best, man. now go review SPEED OF DARKNESS by FLOGGING MOLLY. :)
Review Hellevate by Hellevate! Its coming out in a few months! They've done shows with Havok, theyre a unique sounding thrash band, just check it out! They said the album will be out by July at the LATEST!
I don't dislike metal reviews, or metal as a genre, but will you ever give a metal review a negative review? Or an average, ok review? You love all metal.
Also, I reviewed this album on Sputnikmusic a little while back, but I've only just seen this and I'm seeing the same sort of cons from your opinion as on my review. However, I felt the bass played a large part on the title track and The Cleric.
Ok I went and listened to the title track after watching this review. I was literally laughing at how damn good it was, can not wait to hear the full album.
Hey Anthony, after you do us the favor of reviewing Ulver's new album (before the end of 2011 that is), you could also review Graceon's ''All we destroy''.
YYYYYYYYYEEEEEEESSSSSSS!!!!!!! as a huge thrash fan that eats, breaths, and SHITS FUCKING THRASH!!! I am happy for a thrash review. (AND IT'S POSITIVE YEAH!) gang vox FTW.
The biggest problem is that the fun kinda wears off after the fourth or fifth listen. Still really enjoy it, though. Gotsta pace yourself with it is all. You forgot to mention that it makes the listener want to "punch things, climb stuff," AND stomp on legos.
i'm not a fan of metal at all but i likes the metal music. we need metal music. metal music is keeping my and your country safe from bad diseases and gross vegetables.
coldplay's "every teardrop is a waterfall". i am so disappointed by it, i am nearly devastated. i think i just fell out of love with coldplay. nostalgic for the older coldplay.
@metalmania7778 I would not consider Pantera as Thrash but I always think of Pantera as the band that built up a bridge between two generations of metal. I mean, there would be no Pantera without Metallica and Slayer, but there will sure not be any As I Lay Dying ou Killswitch Engage without Pantera!
Easily one of the best thrash albums in recent years
acornstairlift eh. Vektor is way better
+Guh uh Huh no one asked.
Guh uh Huh Not really. Their albums are bloated and long.
Allen Ellsworth Long isn't bad, and I would disagree with bloated as well
Guh uh Huh Depends on how long it is, I don't wanna sit there listening to a song for 8-14 minutes, it gets wayy too repetitive.
I find his screams more Tom Araya like than King Diamond.
yeah
Havok a perfect blend of Slayer, Megadeth and Voivod.
that hurts!
This album is thrash revival.

Same. It's ridiculous how good it is lmao
Good now there is somthing other than metalcore, black metal and death metal.
The review makes it sound like a 9 to a 9.5....
I love metal and I love rap even more. Never stop making these.
I'll definitely give Havok a listen. I was a teenage metalhead and I've never lost my soft spot for thrash.
Recommendation of the day: The Men. I listened to their album "Leave Home" for the first time yesterday and it gave me chills like I hadn't felt in months. Raw, noisy, muscular, and not quite like anything I've heard before.
i absolutely love your metal reviews!
I always look forward to your metal reviews, thanks to them I've discovered some of my favorite bands (Ghost, Nails). As someone else said, you should review Touche Amore's album next time you do a punk/metal review.
GOD DAMMIT I LOVE THIS ALBUM SO MUCH! I'M SEEING THEM IN FEBUARY!
@writheinpain a short instrumental i played / recorded myself
Killer review. Now I know I'm gonna invest my time with this album. Cheers and keep metal reviews alive dude. Forever
Don't worry about the haters towards your metal reviews. I always enjoy them.
Wait why do people not like your metal reviews?
There's a large amount of people watching this, and a small percentage actually like metal, and quite a few utterly despise all forms of metal (even though they make it very clear that they've never listened to anything harder than Metallica at best) and the fans.
A thrash metal review you' the maaaan Mr. Fantano!
Splendid review Anthony :D I listened to this after we talked last night. Loved it just as much.
Wow. Just finished listening to it. Immense album. Great review as always. DONT QUIT DOING REVIEWS. Or your NEEDLE DROPS will hunt you down.....
I got into your reviews from your Vektor review. Ever since then I have been exposed to great music in general.
we all need an album like this right now.
thanks anthony
This is a sweet album and I would advise most people to buy it, this is an intense band but if that what you like this is perfect for you. Great Review Anthony.
So glad these guys are from my hometown.
Seen David Sanchez around more than once

After a metal review, i think we deserve something more calm down: please review "Sun And Shade" from Woods or "Smoke Ring For My Halo (Kurt Vile).
Its funny because when you reviewed Vektor, I was thinking man when is he going to get to Havok? Good Job!
The vocals remind me more of an over kill style.
Or maybe Exodus
Overkill sounds like Toad from Mario
this is cool. I got this album a couple days ago
Diamond Plate's 'Generation Why?' is really worth checking out. Possibly my favorite thrash record of 2011.
today is a good day. Thank you for this blessing
who cares if people get angry when you review metal. or hip hop. i have a fairly versatile taste in music. so just about everytime you upload a review i check out the album. and its nice to hear more than a small section of the musical spectrum being reviewed. keep doing what you do best, man.
now go review SPEED OF DARKNESS by FLOGGING MOLLY.
:)
Good review, you need to do more video review for metal for example the Oblivionized EP ;)
The vocals were actually what I disliked the most about the album. I still loved it, though. Pleasantly surprised that you reviewed it :)
Cmaaaan Mr. Fantano, let's see what you think of Arctic's new album, my body is ready for a Suck It and See review
What ive heard of them, I really like! You have to love that cover art too!
people hate your metal reviews?
the only reason i'm subbed to you is your metal reviews.
Unexpect - Fables Of The Sleepless Empire
Riverside - Memories In My Head
Loss - Despond
Track Review: Coldplay - Every Tear Drop Is A Waterfall
u know what would tick me off, a scremo review
Warbringer should be your next stop, probably their 2nd Record or their new record which should be out sometime like November.
We need a grunge revival.
BTW, review the new Arch Enemy album when it comes out.
Efrim Menuck - High Gospel
Venetian Snares - Cubist Reggae EP
SebastiAn - Total
Please, ONE of these, at least!
Review Hellevate by Hellevate! Its coming out in a few months! They've done shows with Havok, theyre a unique sounding thrash band, just check it out! They said the album will be out by July at the LATEST!

Great Review of a seriously kick ass album!
"Thrashkrieg", I like that
track review: coldplay - every teardrop is a waterfall...
i'm looking forward to see that review :)
Also, I reviewed this album on Sputnikmusic a little while back, but I've only just seen this and I'm seeing the same sort of cons from your opinion as on my review. However, I felt the bass played a large part on the title track and The Cleric.

Hey Anthony, after you do us the favor of reviewing Ulver's new album (before the end of 2011 that is), you could also review Graceon's ''All we destroy''.
Fuck yeah, this album is great.

@theneedledrop For some strange reason, the outro strongly recalls Joe Satriani's ''Sleep Walk'' lol
Bobby Jo Valentine - A Place to Belong
Love this record. Yo anthony, you should totally review SebastiAn's debut, Total :)
@19tc85 ooo yeah riverside would be good. and also this is a freaking sweet album, one of the best since the 80's

Medely-medely-medely-medely-meeeeeee! TheNeedleDrop channeling StrongBad? I approve!
I'm not a huge metal fan, but loved Vektor's Black Future. Which album would you say you like more? This one or Black Future?

Fucked Up- David Comes to Life
Black Lips- Arabia Mountain
I didn't know Steve-O did music reviews.

@PrehistoricLoathing Thank you. Yours is good, too.
YYYYYYYYYEEEEEEESSSSSSS!!!!!!! as a huge thrash fan that eats, breaths, and SHITS FUCKING THRASH!!! I am happy for a thrash review. (AND IT'S POSITIVE YEAH!) gang vox FTW.
Review Whirl's Distressor EP. It's less than 30 minutes, was released in April, and you can listen to it for free.
@paulfrisby idk, thrash metal has never been my thing, but i can see how good this album is, even if i dont like it
the very best - super mom mixtape
MOAR THRASH!! MOAR METAAAL! Great review :).
Yes! Your an ST fan.
The biggest problem is that the fun kinda wears off after the fourth or fifth listen. Still really enjoy it, though. Gotsta pace yourself with it is all.
You forgot to mention that it makes the listener want to "punch things, climb stuff," AND stomp on legos.
@Saaaaiko oh for sure. black future is a fantastic album
i'm not a fan of metal at all but i likes the metal music. we need metal music. metal music is keeping my and your country safe from bad diseases and gross vegetables.
If you like crossover, check out the band Dr. Livingdead. GREAT Suicidal-esque crossover.
Algernon Cadwallader - Parrot Flies
I was actually hoping this was a rap review. Mmmm Havok.
ch- ch- channel pressure
How about a jazz review? Peter Evans Quintet-Ghosts. Or and reggae/dub one! Anything different...
Gloss Drop + Eye Contact before even considering Suck It and See!
coldplay's "every teardrop is a waterfall".
i am so disappointed by it, i am nearly devastated. i think i just fell out of love with coldplay. nostalgic for the older coldplay.
I saw havok live not that long ago and it was amazing!!!!
You should do "In Solitude - The World. The Flesh. The Devil." :)
LOLOL, I just pictured Anthony climbing up my wall in a spider-like manner.
Unexpect - Fables of the Sleepless Empire would be nice.
'And So I Watch You From Afar' 'Gangs' Please,
