I agree. Pearl was an orgin story. Maxxine didn't allude to that movie except for maybe closing credits.. You do need to see X first because there were several critical flashback scenes....and a very key character in the climax. I have read that Ti West is considering a 4th movie in this series. Mia Goth's real voice sounds like Peppa Pig. It is cute yet somehow real creepy. Finally, Kevin Bacon's character may have been a bit over the top but it would be nice he is finally remembered at Oscar time. There is probably no chance of that but he was good in this movie.
