@@briialvarez9920 if you read and listen to the lyrics you'll understand. but basically she's saying that every time it's her birthday, she tries to change so that she can actually be herself. every year she waits until her birthday to let go and be free to be herself but as much as she tries, she can never take the first step to be who she wants to be because she feels safer in a cover up, or a different personality that isn't really hers.
When I was younger one of my closest friends and I were both really obsessed with "Dance Moms" and I mean really. So sometimes we imagined that we were the cast of "Dance moms", danced the to the same music as them (we made our own choreography) and then danced our solos, duets ect. at competitions we made up. We even made our own pyramides:). You probably think we are crazy, or at least that we were crazy, but we acctually had lots of fun when we did it. After three years (I was ten back then) Emma and I are still close, but sadly not as close as we used to be and every time I hear songs from the show, I think of how much fun we had back then and how close we were. By the way I once even danced to thios sweet song. Please don't judge me and Emma for this strange game we played when we were younger and don't judge me for this pretty bad text I wrote. I am from Germany and English is not my first langue.
