the depth in your commentary for potential lines and outcomes and reflection was amazing. It goes to show how complex a game can be and the pilot of a deck is truly the missing piece to the puzzle for increasing your probability to win. The game I enjoyed the most was the Mewtwo and Mew deck because it showcased a line you forgot to consider costing you one game but learning from the mistake and capitalizing on it in the 3rd game to win the set. Marvelous play.
One thing i really appreciate in these videos as opposed to ones you're playing on stream is how much you explain what you're doing and why. I'm sure that gets exhausting when trying to win tournaments, but i really appreciate the extra in depth reasoning!
Red card is good in tournament settings so the opponent can’t play super greedy with their Professor Oaks and just stack cards. It keeps people honest if they know the opponent has one in their deck.
Alright so I'm always skeptical of decks I see on youtube. Usually for one they don't have much of anything backing it besides maybe a win streak on pvp. The idea might also be gimmicky or inconsistent. But this is a different story. This deck is actually legit. Congrats on winning the tourney but also props for the deck idea itself. I played it for a while myself when i saw it, and it looks very unassuming but everything works very well together and is a very versatile deck. Ngl, i think when ppl actually give this a try and see for themselves, I wouldn't be surprised to see this become very popular. Glad to see there is someone posting more quality content and helping others to understand the game/meta better.
Man, everyone was gushing over the recent Golem deck and when I was looking at it all I thought was "I think Hitmonlee and Marshadow are carrying this"
So many new, fun and budget decks are coming out, this is so exciting! Mythical Island has been really great, it's a good time to be a PTCGP player and yours is definitely one of the best channels for really getting to know and experiment with the new cards. Great video!
Your tournament videos are so good because you explain everything as you think it, makes for a great learning experience for a terrible player like myself
Absolutely love tournament content. Streams and deck highlights are great but I feel like it’s just a little bit better when you’re in a more competitive setting and not dealing with all the “interesting” takes that come from twitch chat
This deck really gives me Red Deck Wins vibes. Bolts to the face with Hitmonlee haste attackers with Farfetchd and goblin grenade with Marshadow. And best of all its cheap!
Hello, greetings from Brazil... Another subscriber... I'm going to use this deck, because it's fantastic... Congratulations... And... Merry Christmas to everyone!!
Built this today & went 5-0 in my first practise games. It feels like even with lackluster starts you have so many tools available to disrupt & play around opponents like very little else allows. Awesome video.
Interesting deck definitely looking forward to trying this. At first glance it seems like starmie Articuno decks destroy this but otherwise I can't think of anything that just runs through it. Nice deck.
I’ve yet to get into this game but I’m glad you made this channel so I can keep up with what’s going on. Have t played the Pokémon tcg since when they first released the legendary birds (articuno, moltres, etc)
I’m soooo glad I subbed to u because I have been so aggravated losing to gyarados ex for the past two days! I just kicked a gyarados to death 😂😂😂😂😂😂 opponent dc haaha
48:35 That’s the advantage of a rogue deck. The opponent filling their bench with EX mons is likely partially due to matchup inexperience, which is something we get to leverage as a rogue deck.
Hell yeah, i love Marshadow. Gonna try this out once i find Tauros, though i think this deck would be a little worse in ladder since it's heavily based on countering the meta
I thought this deck couldn't be that good by the looks of it, but it is really helping me get those 45 wins! It's a fun playstyle that slogging through the Mewtwo games can't replace
Finally something to do with all the full art Marshadows I’ve been pulling. Also, with more variety added to the deck pools, I feel like Farfetch’d could see a bit of a resurgence for aggro early game.
You absolutely cooked with this deck. I tried it out today and its hilarious how long the matches are with this deck because opponents don't know to play around all the bench swapping and revenge killing on both sides.
After watching the first match and having played a lot of Greninja/Gyarados over the last couple of days, I'm wondering if Bullfrog isn't the more consistent Druddigon shell in the long run. Hotmonlee and Zebstrika feel like such hard counters if they get out before you can evolve a magikarp.
Sure it's something to think about, but check out game 2 against the Mewtwo EX deck, at around 25:00. If he had correctly lowered the HP of the Mewtwo EX, Tauros being a 1 point pokemon would've made the difference and allowed for a win.
Interesting Brew. I was working on a very similar Idea using 2 Farfetchd, 1 Marshadow and the split of Mew/Tauros to support Kabutops. Gonna try this build out as well 👍
I knew that farfetchd marshadow would be a strong combo. But i never wouldve guessed it would be with hitmonlee. It looks very strong from these games though
I made a similar deck since Gyarados decks were showing up alot in random matches. 2 x Hitmonchan 2 x Hitmonlee 2 x Marshadow 1 x Kabuto 1 x Kabutops 2 x Dome fossil 2 x Pokeball 2 x Professors Research 2 x Giovanni 1 x Sabrina 2 x Potion 1 x X speed Plan is to hit opponent's active pokemon keeping it under 100/110hp with Hitmonchan so Marshadow can one-shot it if they decide to KO it. I'll leave a bench spot empty for Hitmonlee which I keep in hand as a surprise until I need it. Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan/Kabuto/Kabutops pivots well between attacking the bench or active since their attack and retreat costs only 1 energy. Dome fossils useful against Sabrinas or freeing a bench spot for Hitmonlee if needed. Kabuto/Kabutops so I get the card I need when I use Pokeball to keep the deck consistent. X speed to switch out Marshadow if I had to start with it because of bad opening hand. If my opening hand has both Hitmonchan and Hitmonlee I'll wait until my opponent confirms their start. If they have a bench Pokemon face down I'll start with Hitmonlee since it could be a Magikarp set up behind a wall.
When you say in the first match that the opponent has no sustain, do we know this for a fact by knowing their list in advance or are we just guessing because we didn't see any game 1?
You are always welcome to offer constructive criticism of my play or my opponents plays. Simply tearing people down like this is not that. Do it again and you'll be banned here.
@@HooglandiaPocket you are absolutely right, here's my analysis below. 04:05 should have placed the energy onto the greninja if they were going to play the magikarp to bait the hitmonlee attack to prep for next turn greninja ping + mist slash to take out the hitmonlee in case they drew x-speed / leaf to retreat druddigon 4:56 placing the second energy onto the druddigon when they were not going to retreat the druddigon makes no sense. they could have prepped energy on greninja first then placed the second energy onto druddigon when they were ready to retreat it or draw x-speed / leaf 5:40 placed energy onto a dead on arrival magikarp AGAIN when they could have placed the energy elsewhere and waited a turn to kill hitmonlee then played out the magikarp (admittedly might not have made a difference since you had second hitmonlee in hand but they don't have information on your hand) 8:51 would personally retreat magikarp to evolve on bench and put damaged froakie out but i can't see their hand and evolving magikarp in active spot may make sense if they were playing to the "top deck misty and high roll" potential out 10:16 played the second magikarp for no reason, they were never going to build energy on the magikarp in the next few turns and gyarados ex sweeps all your mons, so playing magikarp out to give you an easy prize point makes no sense. even if they wanted to to evolve it into gyarados ex to use it as a tank, that strategy would fail with your hitmonlees on field kicking the bench all in all, opponent should have pivoted to a greninja primary game plan once they saw the hitmonlee in your list. blindly playing druddigon in the active spot and hoping you don't draw lee was not a good play
And people say that pokemon pocket is all RNG and doesn't require skill, clearly they haven't watched this video, they don't play this deck, and they can't prepare turns ahead. Also for them the meta is solved and only Celebi or Mewtwo are playable.

Same. This is why I subbed
Jeff out here with the next level play of telling everyone red card bad so he can play as greedy as possible and not get punished
This game is incredibly more skill testing when you don't have your hand getting randomly reset here and there.
@HooglandiaPocket so you don't like red card, we get it
@@Zabougienah, it legitimately isn’t good in pocket
@@Zabougie…yeah, for aforementioned reasons. Which is why everyone dislikes it. Red Card is practically a wasted card slot.
Red card is good in tournament settings so the opponent can’t play super greedy with their Professor Oaks and just stack cards. It keeps people honest if they know the opponent has one in their deck.
Amazing video. I love that you were able to include Best-of-3 matches against so many of the most popular decks in the format.

Man, everyone was gushing over the recent Golem deck and when I was looking at it all I thought was "I think Hitmonlee and Marshadow are carrying this"
They do carry early game, and if they can't end it early then golem can step in to finish up. That's the point in them
So many new, fun and budget decks are coming out, this is so exciting! Mythical Island has been really great, it's a good time to be a PTCGP player and yours is definitely one of the best channels for really getting to know and experiment with the new cards. Great video!
this type of content continues to be my favorite
Petition to get Jeff to play in tournaments every weekend, because step by step gameplay commentary with stakes is my favorite content
What a smart deck, dude! Congrats! That's why you are my go to content creator of this game now.
Your tournament videos are so good because you explain everything as you think it, makes for a great learning experience for a terrible player like myself
I really like your tourney coverage like this, all the way back when you did Magic, LOR and Snap. Keep it up. Happy holidays to you and yours!!
You just made a haymaker deck in the very early life of pocket. History does repeat itself
Absolutely love tournament content. Streams and deck highlights are great but I feel like it’s just a little bit better when you’re in a more competitive setting and not dealing with all the “interesting” takes that come from twitch chat
This really feels like a totally different game when you play it Jeff, thanks for the fun content and exceptional play-by-play analysis

I love the way you list the cards by category of which pack they heir from! Tysm!!
This list is sweet. Definitely a lot of room for skill expression. I’ve made several mistakes with it myself working out the lines.
48:35 That’s the advantage of a rogue deck. The opponent filling their bench with EX mons is likely partially due to matchup inexperience, which is something we get to leverage as a rogue deck.
Crazy how much open deck lists changes the playstyle

Also, with more variety added to the deck pools, I feel like Farfetch’d could see a bit of a resurgence for aggro early game.
Loving it. When you open hitmonlee this deck is a garyados farmer.
Great matches, was yelling at you to hit the mewtwo with energy that one game lol.
you cooked... this deck rocks. haven't had this much fun since brewing a golem deck early this expansion
Ive only managed to pull one basic sabrina since game release ; what would you swap for one of her
Trading isn’t out yet
@josephmincher9100 I mean swap as in substitute in the deck
just craft a sabrina
Made this deck went on a 6 game win streak. Shit slaps
Such a creative decklist Jeff, I tried it and I eat charizard and all those BS hiding behind Drudd meta currently, so satisfying, thank you🎉🎉!!
Really cool build, Ive been playing marshadow along farfetch hitmolee and old primeape, really good Shell... Havent tried the tauros yet
that pikachu set was some of the best pocket ive seen played out of both sides
Just pulled my second marshadow today! Let's go!
Jeff doing goat things out here

Looking forward to see if you can update your Jolteon deck.
I am rocking this mystic battle event with this deck so thank you, so much fun

Hey man this deck is super fun to play but I've been losing to a lot of celebi decks. Can you show more gameplay of this deck against celebis? Thanks
You can play a second tauros to make that match up better.
Comments are a lot like basic Pokemon always wanna fit one more in.
For real love the content and Just trying to keep Al happy.
I'll make sure when I try this deck out to name it "Jeff Haymaker" for how fairly unique the build is 😮
Unfortunate for your last opponent to get the penalty game loss, but it was still a great set of games. Thanks so much!
I like that you show the pack points it takes to get it
Fun deck, thank you for the vid!
^since the 2 marshadows seem to deal with pikachu just fine i was wondering if 2 mew instead of the 1 1 split with tauros is something to think about
Sure it's something to think about, but check out game 2 against the Mewtwo EX deck, at around 25:00. If he had correctly lowered the HP of the Mewtwo EX, Tauros being a 1 point pokemon would've made the difference and allowed for a win.
At some point, this is just a comment to help you defeat the algorithm.
More basics really was always the answer.
Kicking magikarp is the new meta.
Interesting Brew. I was working on a very similar Idea using 2 Farfetchd, 1 Marshadow and the split of Mew/Tauros to support Kabutops. Gonna try this build out as well 👍
I wonder how the first opponent could have piloted it better. Perhaps saving leaf while preserving as much health on the gyarados?
you think it’s more important to save the leaf for a turn that your not trying to use any other trainer, or for retreating tauros?
Use at ASAP any time you aren't using another supporter and need to swap/
Tell me why I can’t pull Giovannis I’ve got all of the other cards needed
Idk in Witch multiverse y are but i never saw a mewtwo deck not finding gardevoir at that point of the match. Sheesh GG btw .
That first game against mewtwo was nuts
I knew that farfetchd marshadow would be a strong combo. But i never wouldve guessed it would be with hitmonlee. It looks very strong from these games though

2 x Marshadow
1 x Kabuto
1 x Kabutops
2 x Dome fossil
2 x Pokeball
2 x Professors Research
2 x Giovanni
1 x Sabrina
2 x Potion
1 x X speed
Plan is to hit opponent's active pokemon keeping it under 100/110hp with Hitmonchan so Marshadow can one-shot it if they decide to KO it. I'll leave a bench spot empty for Hitmonlee which I keep in hand as a surprise until I need it. Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan/Kabuto/Kabutops pivots well between attacking the bench or active since their attack and retreat costs only 1 energy.

That first Gyarados Greninja pilot was absolutely horrible

@@HooglandiaPocket you are absolutely right, here's my analysis below.
04:05 should have placed the energy onto the greninja if they were going to play the magikarp to bait the hitmonlee attack to prep for next turn greninja ping + mist slash to take out the hitmonlee in case they drew x-speed / leaf to retreat druddigon
4:56 placing the second energy onto the druddigon when they were not going to retreat the druddigon makes no sense. they could have prepped energy on greninja first then placed the second energy onto druddigon when they were ready to retreat it or draw x-speed / leaf
5:40 placed energy onto a dead on arrival magikarp AGAIN when they could have placed the energy elsewhere and waited a turn to kill hitmonlee then played out the magikarp (admittedly might not have made a difference since you had second hitmonlee in hand but they don't have information on your hand)
8:51 would personally retreat magikarp to evolve on bench and put damaged froakie out but i can't see their hand and evolving magikarp in active spot may make sense if they were playing to the "top deck misty and high roll" potential out
10:16 played the second magikarp for no reason, they were never going to build energy on the magikarp in the next few turns and gyarados ex sweeps all your mons, so playing magikarp out to give you an easy prize point makes no sense. even if they wanted to to evolve it into gyarados ex to use it as a tank, that strategy would fail with your hitmonlees on field kicking the bench
all in all, opponent should have pivoted to a greninja primary game plan once they saw the hitmonlee in your list. blindly playing druddigon in the active spot and hoping you don't draw lee was not a good play
Shout out to all the gamers that haven’t pulled mew yet but still having fun
Yeah two Celebis but I don’t like playing the deck lol. Wanted a mew because it fits with everything
3 mews, no marshadows 😢
Can't wait until I open a copy of Mew EX, I've been playing aggro decks similar to this and it feels like I need that Mew to threaten Mewtwo
Where can i sign up for these tournaments?

awesome deck. skillful to pilot and seems fun to play

People that say that are coping because they lose a lot. If the game is all variance the losses aren't their fault.
Cool deck, but how did you go 6-0 while also conceding to the mewtwo player?
6-0 is matches played, not games. Tournament rounds are best of 3.
@HooglandiaPocket ahh gotcha, really nice list, nice job 👌
I created literally the same list it's crazy it's possible to contact you deprive?
Can you make a lumineon deck,50 damage to bench with no retreat sounds good
great Deck
If you are reading this, I’m wishing you a peaceful and restorative holiday season. Be sure to make time for yourself.
The Golem deck reminded me why I stopped playing Mankey.
I love hitmonlee i hope he gets more versions in the future an ex eould be nice.
What can replace Mew ex?
You could probably use another tauros
Marshadow lived, what a steal
I have no idea what these tournaments are which everyone is talking about, there is no tournament ingame just an event but I think someone just played this deck against me and lost. I didn't see all the cards so I'm not sure but it's possible
Most tournaments are run through this website: play.limitlesstcg.com/tournaments?game=pocket
How is he able to know the exact trainercards the opponent is using?
it's a tournament, you can see what all the participant deck are using.
Tournaments usually run open decklist. Your opponent can see your entire deck, and you can see theirs.
0:20 Heh, nice Hitmonlee pun
This deck is gas
This is the closest I've seen to an anti meta deck. Wondering how it does vs Blaine tho. (haven't finished yet the video)
Just looking at the deck and analyzing lines Moltres Variant of Blaine gets handled by tauros, otherwise you are as fast if not faster with your basics, as a revenge crack 1 shots anything in a non-moltres variant (the more likely version) and if they don't KO you go Hitmonlee to pressure benched Ninetales, It's kind of a Hitmonlee and Marshadow game between Kicking the bench and 1 shotting with Marshadow once Hitmonlee goes down at the end of the day it's up to who opens what though, Tauros is a dead draw in most Blaine match-ups but Mew EX is very strong because it threatens to KO ninetails on the crack back Ideal opening is of course Farfetch'd for early pressure, Marshadow takes a KO on anything if they KO Farfetch'd or Hitmonlee, who is good pressure against benched Vulpix if they don't see Ninetails. it also Depends on which Rapidash the opponent plays and who gets first energy. the only thing Ninetails + Blaine doesn't 1 shot in the Deck is the Mew EX which Cracks back at Ninetales for the 1 shot with Genome hacking, Blaine starting second with Vulpix into ninetales is pretty much Game over though if they hit the coin flip, however if they're going first and/or you start Farfetch'd + Giovanni helps Farfetch'd 1 shot Vulpix lead. there's a ton of other variance that can be considered but essentially it's down to who's going second, luck, and skill as neither has an Inherent advantage over the other aside from Mew EX being able to Punish Ninetales on a crack back with this deck.
Taruos doesnt do much but Marshadow and Mew one shot revenge pretty much anything Blaine can do
I want to try this deck but I don't have Marshadow.
Can’t believe someone called this an incel deck
That’s actually crazy
I'd say that too if I lost a bunch and was bad at the game.
that insult doesn't even make sense lol
Everybody knows incels run mew two
who's the deck creator?
I built this deck and played it in the tournament.
I don't have mew 😢
Love the videos, no hate here, just wanted to say you talk like the canadians in south park.
How is this undefeated if you conceded a match?
6-0 is matches played, not games. Tournament rounds are best of 3.
@HooglandiaPocket ahh, gotcha. Somehow missed that.
You remind me of Quint from Resident Evil Revelation.
Really dig this list. Feels like there's a lot of choices in what to do. I lost two games already piloting it wrong
As someone who has played a lot of Greninja (because I'm f2p and don't have much else lol), the ability to damage the bench makes the game a lot more complicated. Hitmonlee in this deck has that same extra dimension, and it requires a lot of foresight to play correctly.
Neat, I'll def give this deck a shot, feels better than sitting in the active doing nothing while getting smacked
i need a dang Tauros and second marshadow so bad >,
i cant pull mew ex at all lol I literally have 2 copies of all the other ex
How many total wins do you have? I’m at 1,216 right now..curious who has the most out there

This deck is much harder to play than the typical linear slop in this game.
