The stuff is kinda cool, but I don't know if it's really worth the money. I mean, if I want a cool knife, I'll go buy a cool knife. If I want a decent fountain pen, I'll buy one. With these boxes you invariably seem to get one premium item (obviously the knife in this instance,) that you like the most, and then a few other little things that, while undoubtedly cool and of good quality, are probably things you don't really need and wouldn't go out of your way to purchase. So... you end up getting one nice item... that costs like twice as much as buying it individually, just because it comes with a few ancillary items that, again while cool, are probably not a purchase you'd ever make of your own volition. I suppose that's really the concept of the box though... even the premium items aren't anything you really need, so it's clearly a superfluous luxury expenditure. That being said, I do feel like it's for guys who don't really know themselves. If I were given an extra $45 a month to go towards my entertainment/hobby expenditures, I certainly wouldn't be spending it on a veritable grab bag of stuff I might kind of like, selected at random by a stranger. I'd go out and buy the things I specifically like and want.
My only other complaint would be that, they certainly seem to pigeonhole men with what they perceive as "male" interests and activities. Like this is a product explicitly aimed at men who cherish wood grain, the musky scent of sandalwood, the colors dark green, brown, darker brown, and two other shades of brown, metal, beards, and brown liquor (or, at the very least, hipsters who want to project themselves as possessing those interests.) Like, I even enjoy quite a few of the things I just listed, but still feel their categories and conception of "guy stuff" is way too restrictive.
As for the actual review, great job. Keep up the good work! I'm just a trifle skeptical as to whether or not a knife, a mediocre fountain pen, a $0.50 notebook, (come on... the really high quality ones cost hundreds) and a bottle opener are worth $45.

Well said. My wife signed me up. I usually purchase the things I like or want also. It is cool to receive something each month in the mail. Also if you do not like what is chosen for you it can be swapped out or cancelled for the month. You also pay shipping and tax. Thanks for watching and commenting. 👍🏼
