The Top Thing I dislike about TMF's "Top 5 things I like about" videos is that the fact that he says the bike name over and over and over AND I KNOW WHAT BIKE IT IS! And even with that....it's still a great video and I appreciate the content.
That's it, I'm gonna have to get a TMF sticker for the back of my van especially as I'm working in Holmer Green soon for a few weeks (where you filmed some of this). Really interested in the 1200 Scrambler XE.
As a scrambler you should have had it off road, Triumph do a great 'Triumph Scrambler Experience' day in Wales to give a taste of they they can do, (some tigers also in the group on the day as it happens), but these things were there with us over mountains, through water, mud, the lot, such fun. While they look great, we had them covered in mud within the first hour and had a blast all day. Open them up and hit the hills off road!
For solo riding it's perfect, the exhaust is a touch on the hotter side and it's right next to your right leg, but you only feel the issue in stop go traffic, really good value for money.
Number 1...Bang on! It's gotta make the Icon of Torque Museum I reckon. This bike has nearly everything already on board. Exhaust certainly doesn't need changing (except remove the cat). For me it's this and the speed twin that really push the Triumph brand this year. Both excellent icons of British bike manufacturing. I'm more XC than the speed twin; due to my dirty background. When I rode the similar engine Speed Twin with even more torque, lighter and with ridiculously loud V&H poppers, I also rode the new Speed Triple 1050 RS and unfortunately, the Triple (WHAT A BIKE) pushes the Speed Twin into 3rd place for me. But hey! That's three excellent world class absolutely mind bendingly brilliant....BRITISH....bikes. A never ending rush :-) I'm gonna dive into your "annals" now TMF and watch your Speed Triple RS review (2018 better paint job too). Cheers.
I really like that, and the sound of the exhaust did pick up on the mike. Thanks for another great review, I'm only the other side of Aylesbury so even more interesting seeing the local towns and countryside
Great little review 😎 PS thanks for the comments in Blog Off. Just read it 👮♂️ It is true we have all the time in the world for the polite and courteous and zero time or tolerance for the rude and abusive 😁
Good to see the attention to detail they have given the bike, that's one of the things I like about modern Ducati's, (there are a few wierd things with my Scrambler) well done Triumph. 👍
The 'annoying' switchgear is also present on my 765 RS, I've quickly become used to it and very rarely hit the indicator when going for the TFT switch.
Sorry if I'm being a little picky(same size as thou, approx.), the thing I would love most about having a v. v. expensive bike is not to run the risk of falling off it (due to a perfectly adequate, in day to day life, inside leg measurement) at a T junction. I realise that there are more vertically challenged (+) people out there too. However, I normally disregard them in the pub, etc.. So, it's good that you're going the way of positive discrimination in your reviews. If only the rest of the world were like you, TMF!
I dear sir unfortunately have a 30 inch inseam and don't find the accessibility as you described it. Yet I'm at least a good two inches taller than you from what you've told us in past videos. Wish my legs were longer! Love this bike! Fancy yourself getting one? Thanks for the video!
I think Charlie and Edward to save confusion ..so that was the scrambler Charlie. I suppose all we need now is a William 🙃peas and loaf young Mr Flyer 👍🏻☮❤
I would add "an extra 20 miles of range over the Speed Twin" ( because it has a 16 litre fuel tank !) . Sorry , I know you have a Speed Twin, so do I :)
I really like this bike! But I don’t know if I could trade my Africa twin for it though? I might have to save up for a second bike😁 Thanks for the video 👍🏻
Sounds fantastic as well as being a great looking bike, but the price of new bikes these days is so expensive,I’ve had my bandit for just over 3 years band new with full luggage and was only £7500. Really couldn’t justify paying over £11k for a bike, that’s the price of a half decent second hand car.
A beautiful bike and I'd love to add it to my garage but this bike has something in common with Harley -it's priced way too high. That's my opinion, anyway. Great post, TMF.
At least you didn't say she pulls like a train...which as a train driver, I can assure you no bike pulls as slowly as a train....though with 2,250hp believe me, when you wind an HST up it sounds like nothing else.....
You mentioned the torque, isn't it the same on your Speed Twin? Did you spot a noticeable difference in its spread of power regarding your other Trumpet?
Sorry, I know this is an old video, bit just a quick question. What's the seat comfort like. I've read a couple of reviews in which it was described as either rock hard or uncomfortable... What was your view.
I found it fine, not the softest in the world but I rode up to Henry Cole's on it when I had it which was 3 hours there and back and didn't have an issue....10 hour day might be too much...
Nice jacket......which make is it please...........not commenting on the bike........I own one and am very happy with it :-)..........ahh just heard it at the end..............

agree and repeating the name of the bike everytime aswell!! we already know what bike your on i got it the first 20 times!! oh well still gotta love a TMF review
Good morning Andy, just a heads up, are you aware of the new rules regarding Drone(and all radio controlled model aircraft) which is due to be implemented at end of November? no egg sucking intended.
That bike really seems to 'fit' you TMF. You look really comfortable on it. I'm actually in the process of buying one of these (XC) and am looking at what extras I want. Are the hand guards a bit flimsy do you think and maybe just for wind protection? Also I'm wondering what the 'dresser' bars will actually protect on a drop?
John Wallwork The handguards are arguably one of the toughest on the market. Get heated grips, they're a must. And if you can stretch another 70 quid replace brake reservoir with the billet black anodized aluminum upgrade.
@@fantastic1965 Cheers for the info....went into the shop to sit on 'my' bike and looked at the hand guards again......yep they do seem fairly sturdy so have ordered them. Will look into the brake res..........
I'd like a second bike and it would be a Triumph twin of some sorts. Why when they call the other Triumphs either XR for road and XC for the more off road type do they call this the XC and the more off roady one the XE. It's just confusing!
@@ownyourworld name one manufacturer that uses all parts from its on country only? your crazy, lots of stuff for the big manufacturers is made in china now days
The country of origin is not the determining factor for quality. The quality assurance and quality control procedures which are put in place determine the standard of production.
How do you think the XC compares with the speed twin? I'm in the market for a new triumph soon and I'm deciding between the scrambler XE, XC and speed twin, height not an issue for me being 6"3 just trying to work out what would suit the Australian back roads the best. Also wish the scramblers ran the speed twin dials as the TFT just looks wrong to me.
Engines make power, gears convert it to rpm and torque at the rear wheel. You want more torque, shift into first gear. You need more speed, shift into sixth gear. Power is the rate the engine is converting gasoline into forward motion. It is what is motivating you at any rpm. Engine torque is meaningless to you as a rider. Either way, the bike looks like fun. Just thought you'd like to know ;)

I love my XE and watching this vid makes me want to go out for a ride on such a sunny day here but alas work gets in the way!
Too bad!
Torque = smiles. No way to argue.
Thanks TMF, love one of them in my garage. Agree regards the TFT looking good but old school double dials would be so much better.
Agreed. Why not use the dials from the Speed Twin?
Triumphs are absolutely beautiful bikes!
