Got the blue model yesterday, and i liked it so much i ordered the green one as well! Dont think i will ever get a normal watch again. The compass alone is a very important feature for hikers who like to explore off-trail. A phone with maps and GPS is of course a much more practical alternative - BUT; the day you drop your phone on a rock, or you forget to check the battery levels before you go out, a compass can be a lifesaver. And this watch also have a very accurate pedometer, with timer that turns on/off when you walk or take a break - so you can see roughly how far off trail you went, and how long it will take to get back. And with the altimeter, barometer, and weather forecast thingy, it could seem like the ultimate hiking watch!!!
Only thing i wish was better is the logging of the altimeter stuff. It logs the altitude every hour - but on shorter hikes, it would be really nice if it was possible to zoom in on every hour, so the diagram got split into 24 points, each representing 2,5 minutes.
So we cant refresh the altitude withing one hour of trek.?
I've had mine around a year and like it lot. Also know that you can edit the thermometer to give an accurate reading of the outdoor temperature while the watch is on your wrist! If Casio made this watch, they'd charge $90+ for it. 🤣 This watch has a better strap and buckle than my Casio W735H. Crapio has to step up their game; they're lazy!

Heck yes please. Because from the video the compass looks really inaccurate, this is just based on the fluctuating despite the motion of the watch. Please let us know when it will be out, compass, temperature everything please xd

After calibration (necessary) I went from my home at known barometric pressure and altitude (984.2 hPa and 190.28 meters, found by using the hypsometric equation see my picture link for reproduction of altitude with air pressure imgur.com/PgKP7Zv. Measured with both my iPhone and a dedicated barometer. So I corrected the watch, and went from my home to the sea, at 0 meters. And then up to some mountainous areas, and I now used the watch to see what the mean sea level pressure and local pressure was, and first used the equation, and then looked at what the watch gave me. The equation gave me: 248.432 meters and the SKMEI 1358 said 253 meters. The watch read 976 hPa air pressure local and 1007.6 hPa MSL. My real barometer had 975.54 hPa, and 1006.89 hPa.
So I would say that part of the watch is rather decent. The temperature seems off, by a lot. Specially when you put it on your hand, seems the spill heat from the skin heats up the sensor to give it a false reading. With the watch off the wrist seems like it shows about .5 - 2°C wrong. The compass once calibrated shows an average of -4 to + 10° wrong. So it can be used for a general direction if not to find some specific place using an exact compass course.
It sure is a good purchase for 29.99$ off AliExpress !

I dont think the quality can compare to expensive garmin++, but it's very nice for this price.

Thought I'd chime in.
I have a similar, but more understated SK 1418 model with the same functions/internals.
Compass is decently accurate within +/- 5 degrees, altimeter +/- 20ft as compared to Phone/GPS. Thermometer accurate to +/- 1 C (you have to let it sit off your wrist for a few minutes). Not cross checked barometer yet, or figured out if the weather forecast works at all. For all intents and purposes, this is enough. This is not a precision instrument after all.
Complaints; face is quite small and tough to see, sometimes contrast not enough in lower light conditions, black light not really bright enough. Water resistant only rated to 3ATM but so far ok in showers.
Can't really complain for slightly under USD15 shipped. For that, it's a tremendous value for money. Had it for 1 month now.

How do you change Celcius to Fahrenheit?
Hi, thanks for your info. About the altimeter, if we just walking around without any elevation, will it also raise? i want a watch with altimter like this. Because i own a GPR B1000, and i dont like that watch. the altimeter change much even if we just walk 1 meter (with no elevation). waste of 900$
Aparently, not all 1358s have EL backlight. I bought mine in late 2022, and it has green LED backlight and not EL. Not that it's bad or anything. In fact LEDs shine much brighter than EL, but that's the point: EL is better on the sleepy eyes. Imagine waking up in the dark and pressing that light button, and a blast of light hitting your eyes. Not the best thing in the world.
The good thing with the light is also that it works in all modes, contrary to the North Edge Alpha, where the backlight doesn't work in the compass mode. Go figure.
Another great point on the 1358 is that it can easily turned into a "positive" display. Greenish background with black lettering. Very beautiful too.
If that watch had world time, it would realy be the ultimate watch, hands down. 👍👍👍👍

You get what you pay for except in may case it wasn't worth what I paid. Battery didn't last 6 months. After replacing the battery every time I set the compass function the buttons stop working and the display goes haywire. Don't bother unless your happy to throw it away after the battery goes flat. Spend a little more and get something that will last.

Nice review and an interesting item. Altimeters need frequent setting to current conditions. Cell phone barometer/altimeter apps always lack that ability making them useless jokes. Is this also lacking barometer calibration?
How about the values of altimeter & compass? Is it accurate?

I was just about to ask the same thing. its $30 w/ prime so I'll bite and try one.
Simply Unbox It mines accurate just by making a few adjustments in settings.
I've had this over a year. Very accurate. Once you set the ALTI to your local terrain where you are (at ground level where the watch is) then set the Air pressure, you can get this off a forcast, hpa or depends what units you want. Once those two bits are set, the watch will take constant measurements on the hour every hour for 24 hours giving you a forcast and also mapping the barometric pressure and your altitude. I check and wear my watch daily and it is always exactly the same accurate readings compared to forcasted weather and air pressure. I would recommend this watch. it's a steal for $30. Dhgate, aliexpress, and other retailers you can easily buy cheap off these sites. 👍🏻
EDIT. Year later. Watch died with water ingress. Really poor design on the buttons which let water in. Definitely not what they advertise. Avoid water your watch is safe.

Weather forecast is showing wrong, BBC weather 5 c but skmei weather 31c outside in this cold January month weather. I was outside for more than 6 hrs but still 31c?
Needs to be off you wrist to read true temperature. Other wise your body temp interfears
i'm a casio protrek, pathfinder and suunto core user.. and i totally amazed by this watch... it's cheap and has the same features with my watch... is the sensor accurate? if it is, i'll detinitely buy it!

@@ponketon, did you mean a Casio? If that's it, I agree. I am waiting for a long time for Casio to come out with a new model to substitute the Casio Marine Gear MRT200. I have two of them that I use for snorkeling and spear fishing and they are very good on the depth meter department (up to 50/60ft) and that is all what I need, but they were used very much and time is taken its toll. I love their simplicity and do not need anything more complex or complicated. I do not understand why the Casio G-shock Frogman do not have a simple (not computadorized) depth meter. It does not even make sense this absence. Its time for one of these makers fill up this niche.

The instructions I have are a Chinese version of English. How does one operate the pacer function, and what is the record function?
I live in Chicago, will it work in temperatures below 14 F (-10 Celcius) ? Casio twin sensor watches with barometers don't work below those temperatures.

I got the Skmei 1427. The diameter is much smaller and thinner too. All functions similar to 1358 which I also own one. I prefer the 1427 cos it looked more elegant than 1358.

You can change to either one. Both options available. Same with temperature being C or F. This watch is well worth the price. I paid $33 in the US. The light is so bright, this watch is worth it just as backup flashlight in the dark. 🤣 Add in all other features, I'm shocked this is priced so low. If Casio made this and priced it at $50, they would likely be a huge hit. I bought twenty CR2032 batteries, just for future when I need to replace. I've had mine for close to a year now and it works perfectly. The only thing unexpected was the compass. I set it and it works nicely but after maybe 10 hours of not using the compass, it stops showing correct direction. I just have to reset it by holding down bottom left button, then hit top right button, and spin it for about 30 sec. That recalibrates the compass every time. So not big deal when needed.
Use the light in the dark, you will probably have to squint because it is so bright! 😄 Amazing functions for the price!

Daniel Guarín go into altimeter mode then push adjust button to enter into selection mode and finally adjust it to your local altitude.

My son had one. Wore it to the beach and played with his dogs in the surf. It became waterlogged in a few minutes. 3 ATM isn't enough. This is the watch's achilles heal.

I had a $900 Casio Pro Trek, and you could hardly read the screen. It was awful. So I sold it and got a Skmei.
