Years ago after my first daughter was born I got overwhelmed with cleaning and organizing. My mom told me “if you can’t clean a room, clean a closet and if you can’t clean a closet clean a drawer.” To this day I have followed her advice. I have the most organized and cleanest drawers in town. 😂 I love your ideas!
Everyone has so much stuff and everyone thinks they can solve thier stuff with more stuff like containers.... declutter before you organise....and remeber container means your containing what you store in thier so don't jam pack container if it doesn't fit you have to much of that item so get rid of it.
Like that idea but with the dust dirt and slobber slingers from the bloodhounds it is hard to keep any kind of shelf sitters clean. I do have most of my medical stuff in a notebook. I like that I can go to tab and find things and it's portable. Except mine is so thick now I need to expand to a 2nd notebook. I've tried keeping it in a basket but same concept with the dogs.
Great tips, I am in the process of re-organizing my entire house. My husband of almost 47 years passed in September and I'm having to find where things were hid and bring things down to my reach. A lot of your organization tips are going to help me alot
Kim, I admire that you are using your time and energy to improve your use of your home. I know I and my husband need to do much the same so it's easier on the person who's left on their own. I hope I could be as motivated when facing such challenges. Take care of you. Maybe you can celebrate your accomplishments by taking a friend to dinner. You deserve it!
Thank you all for such kindness. It would have been easier and better to have done this together, but , when finished I will know where things are and I'm keeping busy and getting exercise at the same time
The use of colored duct tape to identify moving box content is GENIUS. I like so many of your closet organization tips, but...your closet is about the same size as my entire bedroom. I am so jealous. My goal is to reduce possessions to increase the ability to organize the space that I have. Thanks for the ideas!
An even easier way to keep ponytail holders together is to get an extra large carabineer and put them on that instead of a shower curtain ring, it's bigger and easier to open ❤
We use a ring holder ( I'm sure that's not what's it's called) for hair ties. My grandmother left it to us for my rings but the idea of people seeing my rings out in the open terrifies me. If they steal a hair tye I really don't care. Gives my bathroom a little nostalgia too
I put ponytail holders on shower rings too and use dollar tree pop sockets for phones inside a cabinet door in bathroom to hang curtain rings from. Works great
Tip back at you....I have a small kitchen and little storage space. I have a wooden cabinet in a corner where it's convenient for my coffee maker, but too small for containers for pods, sugar, etc. I bought a wire bathroom shelf organizer that is meant to set on floor, but it works great for my coffee bar. I used removable hooks to fasten it against the wall so it doesn't tip over and holds my pods, teas, straws, sugar, etc all together and no clutter! Got it at either Ross or Home Goods.
Thank you for helping me feel not so dingy - I am forever putting my phone dow in my closet and losing it! Definitely going to get remote containers!! One for my walk-in pantry, too!
I actually use the dish rack I got at DT, to store my frying pans and cutting boards with no problems. And I fold all of our tshirts into about a 3rd of that size as well as tanks or cami tops, so they sort of stand up in the drawers
I was watching u on the TV. I'm in pain and away from the phone, I am influenced by u. Your a great wife, an excellent and extraordinary woman. U are bless and this channel helps u to even go harder. U r helping many new home owners and old ones too. If u n ur husband didn't work hard hand out couldn't make ur life so fascinating. We can only comment because u captivated us we can't move I have to share ur inspiration. I love u and want to bo bless like you. Ur kids will inspire All the ppl they meet. Ur in a class by urself. Love ur content to the moon and back. Hope ur husband knows what he got.
I like those trays for spices too. I gather bottles that I use together: italian(garlic, parsley, oregano, basil); mexican(chili powder, garlic salt, cumin, paprika) etc.
Great organization tips. I use a similar rack for pan lids. Works great, now to get hubby to use it when he puts dishes away..lol..Im just thankful he helps put them away..
You have some great tips! Of course not all would work for me but that does not mean it isn’t a very good tip! Each person can absolutely take a tremendous amount of these hacks and apply them to their everyday life!! Ty for sharing
I have been color coding my clothes by type for a couple of years now. My husband was very surprised because I am usually very unorganized! I also only use the velvet hangers for my tops. The hangers are very slim.
The phone holder is a genius idea! When Delaney gets a little older, can't remember where her phone is with no one around to call it then she will appreciate that tip!😂
You don’t really need it. Just make a few assigned areas where you d always put your phone when you re there. It works exactly the same without adding unnecessary thingys .
Brilliant! I'm in an organization frenzy, and this was suggested at the perfect time. Your tip about breaking things up is on point especially for those of us with ADHD.
I love your hack videos so much! I did a similar thing with my ponytail holders, but using a Dollar Tree book ring. Anything you have on hand, even a carabiner is perfect!
One great hack I've used for years... I have a small galley kitchen. Only 4 cabinets! My biggest cabinet is for pots pans. I need it for lids and oven stuff. Soo..I got a really nice shower rod. Cut to length if needed. Put it on your wall. Make sure u use anchors for rid. Get s hooks. Hang pis on wall. You can use small towel racks too! Multi level pot wall racks. Put wood shelf above them fir spices!
Putting your phone by the light genius! How about attaching the holder to the table or wall beside your bed? I'm definitely using it beside my bed bc I'm always laying my phone down on my bed then fall asleep and can't find it to hit snooze when my alarm is going off! Lol, seriously. Thanks for the idea!
Liz love the phone idea in the closet i am always losing my phone when i am doing video for my channel v cosina. Love the idea thank you are a life saver.❤
Word of the day is organization. I think the phone holder in closet is awesome. I loose mine in closet to so this is great idea . I had to do the salt in mason jar as soon as I saw it.
I was sad those jars contained sweet formaldehyde for kids. That's why the aspartame in those sweet drink powders turns into in the brain: embalming fluid. Long-term use erodes holes in brain tissue. Very bad idea for children.
Amazing organization/hacks! When you were talking about the drawer with all the nails, I was thinking that it was actual nails, you hammer into wood, etc. not nails on your fingers lol
The remote organizers are a great idea for the phone. I’m guilty of doing the same. The slim canvas hamper is great also. I live in a condo n storage is limited.
Genius…..I LOVE your hacks. A lot of it is so painfully obvious and simple I wanna smh that I never thought of it! The spice organizing….ive bought so many things trying to organize in a way that will be easy and STAY organized. I never thought to keep my most often used jars together in a bin 🤦🏽♀️ Thank you!!
I highly recommend that you don't store nail polish remover on its side. When it leaks it can cause very bad damage to the space it is in and other things around it.
Spilled nail polish remover in my bathroom and it immediately ate the vinyl floor. I got a MUCH nicer floor after that, but it looked & smelled hideous til we could peel it up, and then we had to deal with the terrible old floor we had covered in the first place!!
I Love all your organization videos. I have to tell you I AM FOREVER LOSING MY PHONE!!! The remote organizers are a Fantastic Idea!!! Can’t Thank You enough for sharing all your videos!!❤️😊
The ALIX is an amazing system. We have a taller one we added to the large but cavernous RV closet. Had to get IN the closet to build the frame, but it has been in there for 5+ years, the drawers NEVER come open, even tho our RV is older with no air ride. Easy to see everything due to white color & also easy to clean with it's smooth surface. We added a scratch n dent IKEA melamine slab as a shelf over it, giving us far more space, and a custom look, in a dark closet (even with a light in there!). . My MD has two with a counter top across them as a desk- perfect height! One of the best things we have purchased at IKEA--And it's a good thing we live nowhere near an IKEA as I am addicted!!
I use a plastic kitchen utensil bind to organize my daily makeup. I store it underneath my vanity on top of my bench. Push the bench under the vanity and close the door. Next day, pull out the bench and set organized bind on vanity, sit down on the bench, and apply makeup.
Thank you... you I thank... omg... pieces it what I have been doing.. OMG... And with the Dollar Tree tips..UMMMM i was able to repurpose many items for organizing
Have a towel bar in bath tub area. Got dollar tree shower hooks, broke off the clamp, placed over the shower rod and hang up loofa pad, wash cloths, and anything else I use in the shower or tub.
A few years ago, I had no choice but going to Dollar Tree and I was amazed what cool things they had in suuuuuuuch great prices! Since my budget is very very tight and I would say I am creative person I fell in love with these low-cost stores and I enjoy watching videos like yours for more inspiration to make the home cozy and super super budget friendly. Loved the earrings organizer hack!!!! :-)
Organizing is so valuable it not only makes life easier but it is a plus to self worth. These remote pockets are super!! If only my Mr. Would use them. Cats love to play with hairties & I've found them under everything when cleaning. I also sometimes hang them on my booklight that i have clipped to the plastic drawer tower I use as a bedside table. You need a kitchen devil knife with two cutting sides . I bought one 20 years ago and still cuts really well . I don’t use it every day . Only for cutting thin bread slices when I made home bread
I think your remote holder gotfor the phone is absolutely brilliant! I do that same thing always set my phone down in the closet somewhere and I look for it everywhere else in my house 😂
I have two closets in my bedroom....I have short sleeves/tanks in one and long sleeves and some dresses in the other one. All color coded even in the stripe shirts (color coded) a whole lot easier finding something.
I love that I’m not the only person that puts my phone in “ridiculous “ places I honestly LOL when you said sometimes I put it here ( on the hanging clothes) which is just ridiculous 🤣
An even better idea to purchasing storage jars (cheap as they are in the £ shops) is to keep the jars that products come in! My coffee is packaged in an attractive, airtight jar so I use empties for all types of goods. They make excellent gift jars too.

Your paper towel hack. I used to buy the Lysol wipes. But after the pandemic hit, they were hard to fine. So I cut my paper towels in half pull the center out and put them in a container like a coffee can and poured my disinfectant over the paper towels, slowly, so the paper towels can soak up the liquid. I made my own disinfectant wipes. And now that’s all I ever use. They fit right under my sink.

@@lizfenwickdiytip for belts you can use that hanger with bathroom ring shower hooks you could probably get two belts on each shower ring

Kim,
I admire that you are using your time and energy to improve your use of your home. I know I and my husband need to do much the same so it's easier on the person who's left on their own.
I hope I could be as motivated when facing such challenges. Take care of you. Maybe you can celebrate your accomplishments by taking a friend to dinner. You deserve it!
Sorry for ur loss.
@LizfenwickDlyOfficial- thank you for your kind words
I received a message I had won a prize?

I use those and a tiny one for my travel bag.
Also, the red lids from powdered Coffee mate, fit onto regular size Mason jars! I love using them!
I put ponytail holders on shower rings too and use dollar tree pop sockets for phones inside a cabinet door in bathroom to hang curtain rings from. Works great
Instead of the command stripes inside the cabinets for cleaning sprays you could use over the door towel racks

A hint about putting the expiration date on your canisters-put a chalk label on the bottom, easier to write and erase.
Love them all. I am an organizing nut. I love doing, helping others and watching videos for inspiration!
Hi Liz!! Yu mentioned ponytail holders,, I slip mine on my hairspray can.. all accounted for!!
The over-the-door to hang brooms, etc ... what an idea. I got up & immediately put that idea to use. Tx
Yes...👻👍🐈⬛🎃
I like those trays for spices too. I gather bottles that I use together: italian(garlic, parsley, oregano, basil); mexican(chili powder, garlic salt, cumin, paprika) etc.
Phone holder absolutely genius I need in every room! Thank God for Apple Watch to notify!
Great organization tips. I use a similar rack for pan lids. Works great, now to get hubby to use it when he puts dishes away..lol..Im just thankful he helps put them away..

I’ve done the same for my tops: using the velvet ones. Got rid of the plastic ones years ago
@@Camille-wk9zs Me too! best storage saver ever!
Phone organizer is great idea, also to use for reading glasses, always losing those

Organizing is so valuable it not only makes life easier but it is a plus to self worth. These remote pockets are super!! If only my Mr. Would use them. He always looses his phone, glasses, wallet and keys. I have had the same system for 30+ years. He has used the system, on occasion. I cant change location because he would NEVER use it. Each house we have had, has the same kind of thing.. it has been the bain of my day. Right now. He has not had either pair of his eyeglasses.. who knows where they are.
You can also wash your ponytail holders in a mesh zipper bag on cold or warm. Then hang the bag up to dry. I keep my hairties in one of the nicer decorated Ziplock bags so my vats stay out of them & they stay clean until i use them a bunch. Cats love to play with hairties & I've found them under everything when cleaning. I also sometimes hang them on my booklight that i have clipped to the plastic drawer tower I use as a bedside table. Great spot for a book light so i can turn it on to check on cats if i hear something at night or whatever without bothering my boyfriend or take it with me to the bathroom at night so i don't trip over cats or housemate's dogs.
You do your own nails wow! It looks so professional.
I like that 'travel pack'. I don't go far but a neat idea.
Organization ! I think is my first video of you but I already love you and your content !!
Organization!! It’s addictive🎉
I think Brawny Paper Towels have 3 sizes to choose from on each roll
Love your videos. I didn’t read all comments so hopefully I’m not redundant but I frequently cut paper towels in half but sharpen my knife prior (since I had same experience). I use a steel blade as well🤷🏻♀️. A really sharp knife easily and evenly slices through.
Loved the suit case sto and go luggage hack, And the outlet concealer!🤩
I have two closets in my bedroom....I have short sleeves/tanks in one and long sleeves and some dresses in the other one. All color coded even in the stripe shirts (color coded) a whole lot easier finding something.
I love that I’m not the only person that puts my phone in “ridiculous “ places I honestly LOL when you said sometimes I put it here ( on the hanging clothes) which is just ridiculous 🤣
Now I'm ready to start organizing.
An even better idea to purchasing storage jars (cheap as they are in the £ shops) is to keep the jars that products come in!
My coffee is packaged in an attractive, airtight jar so I use empties for all types of goods. They make excellent gift jars too.
Bom dia, suas dicas de organização é fantástica vc é perfeita. Parabéns ❤
Organization! Loved this video. Took away several ideas. Thnx!
Kiss nails are the best. And the glue is amazing.
I also put mine in one of the little long trays. So they are all visible and easy to find. I put the glue and alcohol pads and nail stickers in one also.
