That was fun…seeing my girls together out and out. It breaks my heart to see those beautifully made blankets at the thrift store knowing that someone took a lot of time to make them. Hopefully they will find a new wonderful home. Thanks Glenda, mom and sis for letting us tag along with you. Stay safe and be blessed ❤
I see so many things hand made just given to the thrift stores. I have bought beautiful crocheted and knit items at of my local thrift stores. The stuff they price too high I will not buy. Nice to see yous having a day out together. Have a great weekend.😊
Hello silly girls, I love you all. I'm really quite silly myself. Ok you need to get that afgahn. We can tell how much she loves this and all the attention. I took care of my mom and dad until they past. Towards the end it got more and more challenging as my physical condition got worse. They were terrified of going to the nursing home so I promised them if I had anything to say about it, They would never have to worry about that. My sister is 16.5 years older than I & her husband was the executive of the whole works. They live 1.5 hrs from here & would only come for about 1 hour to visit them or her after dad passed & she wanted them to be alone with ty them. I will never regret all of this special time with them. So I really appreciate you are both with your mom every week. God bless to all.❤❤❤
Very pretty blankets. So sad they ended up in the thrift store, however. My grandmother (who taught me to knit and crochet) used to make exquisite doilies, bedspreads and tablecloths.
I made twenty baby blankets last year and put them in Goodwill so a new mom who doesn’t crochet could afford a beautiful crocheted blanket for their baby . I hope they went to good homes and were loved .
Karen Dionne, instead of donating to the thrift store, consider donating to a battered women and children's shelter. My church did that, and every single blanket went to a mom or child in need. Look online or ask your church charity minister for names of organizations you can donate to.
I've purchased yarn items from thrift stores before just to frog them and reuse the yarn. It was tough times and the only way I could get yarn then, Looks like a lot of fun!
This is what me and my sisters do on Saturday mornings. It's so much fun, you never know what you'll find. Your stores have so many crochet items. I never find anything this nice. 😊
Oh yeah since I started to learn to crochet I had no idea how much we put into each item we make also with the amount we spend to buy the yarn, needles, hooks, etc. Its a shame that they end up at thrifts stores and sell them for pennies. I recently went with a friend to a estate sale. I got to talking to the young man that was selling all the items. He said that his grandma had passed away and she left him every thing, but he was going to sell everything inside the house and buy everything new, but he was keeping the house. He was selling everything cheap. Me and another lady went straight to this room where we saw alot of yarns, needles, hooks, threads, material etc. Ho my God she had everything you needed to do every kind of craft you wanted to do. Well me and that lady took 3 of the large (30 GALLONS) bags. And he just gave it to us for $15.00 for all 3 bags so I paid $15.00 and that lady paid $15.00 for her 3 bags to. We made a steal. I felt so bad cause here we are we make all these items and once we all get old or pass away our kids or grandchildren dont care to save our most precious thing and they sell it or just donate it to the Goodwill or other thrift stores, cause they want all new things. But as I was walking out I turned around and looked at the house and said Dear God thank this beautiful lady for all these beautiful yarn and other items she has provided for me and another lady. Tell her it's not going to waste nor will it be found in any thrift stores. We will put it to good use AMEN. And me and my friend left. She also had 3 bags, but I dont know what she got. I was having a ball in that room. I felt like I had hit the jackpot. Ok well good bye again and you all take care of yourself😊.
My family hails from Missouri, but a lot of us have lived in San Francisco for a couple generations. We all still say "WORSH" instead of wash. Love it.
I enjoyed watching the 3 of you going to the thrift stores. Crystal at BOD would have been in heaven with the doilies. She definitely would have bought all of them at those prices. She loves using them. The prices on the blankets were amazing. I hope that someone gets and cuddles with them. You're right so much work, but at least available for someone who can't do what we can. Hugs 😇🙂
Love seeing you all together. It’s to bad people don’t realize how much the yarn costs and the time and effort to make those blankets. Thank you all for sharing
Good afternoon Glenda, Irma and Lori. Mom is looking amazing in that white blanket with the different colorways! They look like dryer balls? I hope you all have an amazing rest of your weekend thank you for sharing your thrift shopping with us!
Glad we got to go shopping with you. It seems their pricing is off. The afghans are cheap but the yarn is expensive in comparison. The pansy doily you saw I made years ago.
Hi Glenda sister and mom so nice to see all of you 😊😊😊. The 2nd thrift store the baby blue and off white blanket that is reversible I would love to make that blanket just don't know how to lol.😂😂😂😂
Hi Glenda and mom and sister how are you doing today I am doing fine today thank you for the trip everything are very beautiful thank you for sharing stay safe 💙🌹
Oh how I miss shopping in thrift stores with my dear mother now in heaven. With my health issues and the fact I don't drive I rarely get to places like that again. Enjoy your bargins you picked up. We used to also in the fall go to church fall fairs. Have a great day.
Hi Glenda, your mom and sister hi to all of you. Ho I haven't gone to a thrift store in a very long time. I liked that thread they had their along with some of the needle point stuff. Thay will also keep me busy. Thanks for taking all of us along to the thrift stores. It's to cold to get out here today, we are in the 30s our Texas weather changes from one day to the next. You can never tell with Texas weather. You all take care of yourself and God Bless you all bye.😊
So many beautiful items. That's such a shame all that work and cost sold for so cheap. It's too bad the big granny afghan was damaged. I haven't been thrifting in awhile. You've given me the incentive to start going back. Thanks Glenda. Glad you guys had a good time.
Lovely to see your mum and sister and you all going out together. I donate a lot to thrift stores especially just lately as we are packing up to move to a new home. I having looked around a thrift store in a long time. Maybe when I am settled later in the year I will get to have a wander around. Take care lovely ladies and enjoy your times together.
For folks who do mixed media arts, some of those partial skeins of thread would be a treasure. It was funseeing the thrift stores. I'm exhausted just watching!!
That blue afgahn Lori was looking at.would be a good thing for her to learn on and putting them together with the mattress stitch. Since she sees, she should already know the stitch.❤❤❤
Enjoyed tagging along with the three of you Glenda, I loved seeing all the crocheted items, compared to our thrift store here in Australia yours are very cheap, those crocheted blankets which you showed us would cost about $10 to $20 here in Australia, thanks for taking us with you on your shopping trip and take care and stay well all of you.
Those crocheted balls that you thought were 'cat toys' I think are really, "water balloons". You're supposed to soak them full of water, then have a "water balloon" 'fight' ~ no waste 'cause you use 'em over & over again! Thanks for the tour!
That crochet thread, a kid or teenager who likes to make friendship bracelets it would be good for them. I know I used to use crochet thread to make friendship bracelets when I was a teen because I could get a lot for a little and make a lot for cheap. Even when I taught my daughter to make them that's what I bought to show her how to make them.
So fun to go shopping with all of you! I have Been working so much lately I haven’t had a day to just go check check things out. It was like I was right there with you!😊
292, that was fun!…lol!…I feel like was with you and Laurie…you are so good at anticipating what we want to see…close, farm…drape,…and loved the fall granny,…and the sc ripple blanket…now I can put my feet and relax…oh, wait,..my feet were already up!…I think I would have $3’d myself through the aghjans😀
The doily with purple around the edge reminds me of some doilies my grandmother made. She was always making doilies or bedspreads. I never enjoyed using the thread to crochet but I made myself make a set of doilies. I have made several over the years with a very light weight yarn and I made them very large. I think when I finish projects I'm working on ( baby blanket for great granddaughter) and a poncho for the other great granddaughter) that I would do some doilies again. I enjoyed this video to see items others have made.
I loved your thrift store shopping. Lots of beautiful blankets and doilies. We are about to head to Denver and you have inspired me to tell my husband we are going to go thrift store hopping while we're there lol. It's so fun to see you and your mom and sister together. Thank you for taking us along your journey. 🙂
This was fun checking out what people donated. BTW, I think those crochet balls could be “dryer balls” used in laundry dryer machines. They say it cuts down drying time by 30% lol. Thanks Ms. Glenda.
Great modelling ladies!!! Here in the uk charity shops the crochet items are a little expensive, when I think of the work that goes into items they are worth every penny!! Looked like you had a fun day!!
Wish I had someone to share Thursday morning breakfast and thrifting with. I might have been tempted to buy couple of those blankets to donate to a charity.
You can’t buy the yarn for those prices! Nice to see all of you together and having fun! I always look for yarn at the thrift stores. Your store has way more than mine. Those doilies are shamefully priced! I would have grabbed them for sure! I love to frame them for my walls! Laurie was getting into the modeling!❤️
Im part of a knitting group, we knit for charity. Im often thinking, these items might end up in shops like this, or worst landfills. I hope we arn't part of a problem. Oh well I keep knitting for the tree of warmth. Hope for the best.
I have come to the conclusion since seeing your mom and sister together that she is indeed your mom's clone. Lol. Three lovely ladies enjoying the day!
You have good prices at your thrift stores. I live in Oregon and the prices are crazy and items are not as nice. We still love to shop for those special finds. ☮️🌍🌲
Yes, I enjoyed seeing you all on your outing. I haven't been to the thrift store in yrs. Ours are not as kindly priced, but for something to do I'll check them out this week. You just never know LOL
I love this video Glenda! It's so fun to see you together with your Mom and Sister! Looks like you had a wonderful time and you found several beautiful crocheted items! I love to go thrift store shopping too! Great video, thank you!
Some of those afghans had so much yarn in them. If you crocheted or knit mitts, hats you could frog one and make something for a bargain price and give it away.
What fun you have with your mom and sister. Our thrift stores price yarn the same as in the stores, which is frustrating. They have good buys on made items usually though.
I loved this video, I never thought of checking thrift stores for those pretty items! I can do a little knitting but have never really had any success crocheting. Wish I could do just some simple crochet items. But I will keep trying. Take care and stay healthy and safe!
Great video Glenda and Fam. I really enjoyed you showing all the crochet items. Maybe you have to do crochet yourself to appreciate all the work that goes into them.😊
The small dark colored heart doily is pretty and I wish you could do a tutorial for that pattern if you know or could figure out how they made it. I haven’t seen that particular heart design and I really like it. Glenda the doilies that you (purple flowers edging) and Lori (pink and white) liked are ones I would have purchased. Such great prices in your thrift stores!
What fun! Nice to meet your family, too. Prices reflect, that they, don’t understand the work & time involved.

Hi Glenda Laurie and mom. Thanks for sharing. I loved it!Just love seeing you all having so much fun! Take care!😊
My mom used to have doilies with those little pansies - she used to starch them so the flowers would stand up.

Truly enjoyed this video. I wish I had someone to go "Thrift hunting" with.
I feel so sad to see beautiful crochet rugs and patchwork quilts in op shops selling cheaply. Robyn from Australia
Thank you for taking us with you girls, it makes me want to go out and look for something special 😊. Have a wonderful weekend 🥰
My family hails from Missouri, but a lot of us have lived in San Francisco for a couple generations. We all still say "WORSH" instead of wash. Love it.
Hoosier here, we use worsh and torlet. Darn autocorrect kept changing them on me.
Nice to see you 3 ladies. Looks like you had a good time together. Happy crocheting 💜🙏🤗🧶

In the 2nd thrift store, they really took the time to display the items nicely. Makes such a difference.
What a fun day with your Mom and Lori!
I'm not big on Thrift stores but enjoy watching you guys together. Precious
Wouldn't it be fun to collect doilies using similar thread and join them together to make a table cover or a bedspread?

I’ve gotten, crochet doilies at thrift stores and sewn then together to make garments.
Some of those afghans had so much yarn in them. If you crocheted or knit mitts, hats you could frog one and make something for a bargain price and give it away.
Luv the Watermelon 🍉
What fun you have with your mom and sister. Our thrift stores price yarn the same as in the stores, which is frustrating. They have good buys on made items usually though.

That looked like a lot of fun!
Thank you Glenda for sharing. Take care 💜
Yes, I'd love a tutorial for that heart too!
what amazing finds.. love the bunny your sister found...This was my plans for today, but the weather decided we needed more rain lol lol I don't drive in the rain on purpose..too many people without insurance and more are out driving with no brains on rainy days... LOL
