I want to thank you as a person for taking the time and effort to film this I mean walking and filming this for a hour and a half you've managed to get this poor man a good look of his dream place that I'll probably never get to see
Honestly I watch these and sometimes think wait a minute maybe I should pause this or leave this video from for another time because maybe one day I will see this and I don't want it to be spoiled for me. But what do I know it's still fun to watch and I probably won't be able to visit every location or even any and even if I do the little details won't be memorable
I visited the park on September 7, 8 and 9 (2016) and it was just amazing. Everything there is just huge: rides, streets, parade floats, the castle (which houses a fairytale walk through, so it couldn't be much smaller). There is free drinking water at every toilet group, lots of places to sit and relax, the food is delicious, I loved every single thing about it! This video really is like walking through the park! Awesome job!
This park is not worse or better . . . It's just a bit different just as you would expect to be. I actually think the patrons look cleaner and better dressed than in the American parks. If you have very been to Disney during crowded days you would love all that open room.
It looks absolutely beautiful. I think Bob Iger nailed it on the head when he said this, “authentically Disney, distinctly Chinese.” I watched the documentary where they were building the park and they really did tap into the ancient Chinese culture for the design aesthetics and the attractions. I love how much attention goes into every single one of their parks and they don’t miss a detail
so, i read the comments about the WIDEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE open spaces and at first i didn't like the wide spaces but i thought about it and it makes sense. i am a frequent visitor to Disneyland here in California and on those long hot very crowded days in summer, i wish we had the wide open spaces here.the park is beautiful. it will be better once the trees are fully grown. overall, i like it. dont compare it to other Disney parks. i am different from my sister but we have the same parents.
That's exactly what I was going to say. It looks unfinished. Disneyland has almost no waisted space. This looks more like a park, than a Disney theme park. It doesn't have that Disney charm that Disneyland and Disney world have
This park was bizarre and beautiful at the same time. Huge open walkways, lots of stairs, water and gardens everywhere. Not very crowded. Hard to tell what some of the rides were. Not jam-packed with rides. Gorgeous buildings. To me it seemed they wasted a lot of space. LOTS of places to sit (benches) which is something our parks need more of. Are they eventually going to add more rides? The castle is amazing. Our parks have a lot more rides. Glad we don't have all the stairs. Aesthetically beautiful, but like I said earlier, lots of wasted spaces filled with either water or garden type settings. Huge theme park!!! How does it compare in size to Disneyland in Calif. and The Magic Kingdom in Orlando? A lot or most of the rides seemed different than in the states.
All that space allows them to have room for more rides. They can take out a large open area and turn it into a ride. If that was done intentionally for that purpose I think it was pretty smart for the imaginengineer's. I'm not 100% sure but I think it's about the size of Disneyland and DCA combined.. maybe a little bigger..
Thing is, a Disney Park doesnt need to be jam packed, its almost impossible to move in the Orlando Park. California or even Paris and Hong Kong. The good thing about having big wide open areas is that it also allows themes to not be so close (aka, not being able to see Space Mountain from tomorrow land all the way from Adventure land). Also, this camera use, does seem to fool are perspective, an object looks like its far away, but its not.
By the looks of it, the benches that were there weren't even being used.. Either benches are for the weak or America is just incredibly lazy (which is true)
Jacob Bonlender There are times when families with small children need to sit and take a break for a few minutes. Young children do get tired. Also, elderly people that visit may need to sit down every now and then. Then there are those that may have physical disabilities that need to take a break every now and then. I'm amazed you never considered any of these circumstances. BTW, your perception of Americans being lazy is totally false, just like all stereotypes
Looks like the biggest attraction there is space! Just a gigantic space with an attraction here and there. If ever there was a need for Walt's People Mover... Thanks for the look-around.
I think that the ridiculously wide open spaces in this park make this park seem not very crowded... meanwhile, the cramped spaces in the American parks, especially the California Disney resort, make the park seem very crowded all the time
Disneyland is international and so interesting to see how it's now not just in English but many other different languages, I've always adored the Shanghai castle so breathtaking and sooo gigantic ❤
This was great to get a great view of the park, which I've never seen. This Disneyland in Shanghai looks so much more wider and spacious than the Anaheim one, which is a big plus. But the Anaheim one seems to feel and look more magical. This one seems kind of corporate and boxy for some reason. Some are saying this park doesn't seem to have many attractions, but it is pretty new. The park opened in 2016. When Disneyland opened it didn't have that many attractions and many of them broke down on opening day. It was a nightmare.
I wet here on Christmas, so beautiful. The fireworks contains lots of beautiful music from 8:30 - 9:00, I'm going back to today! I love only being 45 minutes from this beautiful place. Even though people get into fights and squish around each other. There's popcorn, food, and drinks all over, so much stuff around.
This is the first and only Disney "Castle Park" without an American flag - anywhere. Walt Disney was an outstanding entertainer - but, first and foremost, he was an American. And that "Americanism" spirit is reflected at all other Disneyland Parks around the world (California, Florida, Tokyo, Paris, and Hong Kong) EXCEPT here in Shanghai. (PS, outstanding video, thanks for posting)
It's amazing at how quiet it is compared to the American version. The attractions are quieter and even the guests are quieter and more respectful of each other.
Park looks great, yes there's a lot of 'dead' spots... but The parks only a year old,... and looking like THIS on opening week is an amazing achievement - The park just needs to mature and grow into itself which I'm sure It will! To all those saying its strange and not-classical disney......I think the park was intended to not compete too much with Hong Kong Disney which is modelled on the traditional disney parks.......I think the two parks COMPLEMENT each other rather well by the looks of things!
Harry Peach Eh.. sort of. The reason why the park is so different to all the other Disney parks is because of the government. Basically, they didn’t want a lot of Americanisation going on in China (which is why it was so difficult for Disney to finally persuade the government to actually build a Disney park in mainland China as Disney is considered an American icon). Because of this, they had to change the park design immensely so that it didn’t match the pre-existing parks in America and across the globe, which is why none of the “classic” attractions are at Shanghai DL (Space Mtn, Big Thunder Mtn, Splash Mtn etc). I know POTC is there, and whilst it’s considered a classic, it was put in because of the popularity of it’s movies within China (Hence why there’s a whole land dedicated to it).
Great Video !!! Although I think no Magic Kingdom style park is complete without the train and also... Mickey Avenue (that's what its called I think?) is very underwhelming compared to a Main Street
T.F Studio Disagree. It's a great, beautiful park, but lacks the charm that the only Disney park truly has, Disneyland USA! Out of all the Disney parks I have been to that is the only one that truly has it.
+Tbone1725 i agree but THE attractions at Disneyland paris are THE best, and them im talking About big thunder mountain pirates and space mountain, paris had also THE most detailed mainstreet from al Disney parks and to THE best castle!
I love the transition of music as you change lands. Also, this park seems massive. Which American park can I compare it to, land scale wise? It just seems so endless and so open. Wow.
I love your video I mean everything was just timed right. The people, the music, the fact that it looks straight out of a tv show special like full house or something lol it awesome. The park looks great the fact that it's so big means they can keep building more and expanding. Keep up the great work.
Wow, it's beautiful, but the size and lack of attractions makes it feel really sterile. I don't like how you get to the end of Mickey Avenue and the castle still seems like it's a mile away. Definitely feel like they could have made the Park smaller.
@@_btsarmy-_9266 Magic Kingdom is definitely the cutest and the best theme park because the themes are all on point. However all the other Disney parks are top-notch as well they're just made for a different purpose I think. I like how Paris doesn't have Tomorrowland but instead has a Discovery Land based off of DaVinci and other great Visionaries and scientists and then the Tokyo and Hong Kong versions have cool rides that fit better in those locations even though they be fun for anyone to ride but thematically it just works better in other locations

I have GOT to get their entrance plaza audio. It was playing a rendition of Baroque Hoedown (aka Main Street Electrical Parade) as you entered. Thanks for the video!
Thanks for the video! Very beautiful theme park. I'm not that fond of the big empty spaces though.Sometimes it seems like you're just in a regular park.
I guarantee kids ask "are we there yet?" more here than any other Disney park in the world. I got exhausted just virtually walking to the castle. Pack your redbull, kiddos.
This is a late reply but Its a Small World would most definitely not see the light of day in Shanghai Disneyland, since it has a meaning that I forgot. Basically, it was opposed by the government.
I'm glad I watched this....Pirates of the Caribbean would be the only reason I'd want to visit. The rest of the park appears like it was designed by first year Imagineers. Tokyo and Hong Kong feel like "old school" Disney....I don't know what this is. Thanks for the awesome video, though! Much appreciated.
I dont think its necessarily prejudice. some comments did make a point. from the video, I personally dont like this disneyland park. It looks very wide open and less immersive. but it is practical when you consider its potential market size.
Epcot is known for its wide open spaces and focuses heavily on landscaping and paths weaving through hills, lawns and bodies of water. This is to highlight each of the pavilions and its purpose. Epcot is basically a representation of earth. Castle parks (i.e. Disneyland or Magic Kingdom) rely more on being tight and charming. Every corner is supposed to be pure sensory overload no matter where you look. Shanghai is a bit too open to have the charm of a castle park. Although I believe the dead space is for future plots for expansion.
totally agree with this analysis, I don't think all the dead space is necessarily for future expansion, there is extra wide paths, or in the case of in front of the castle; multiple rows of paths (probably for people standing watching shows, taking photos). The reason all the places where there is foot traffic being, big, open and feeling less themed than other parks and less detailed is probably a conscious choice of the population size in China and the fact they expects huge crowds.. At least that is all I can think of.. although there are reports they had major issues with the local construction companies (which the Chinese government forced Disney to use) not completing the more detailed work properly so its possible they scaled back theming for that reason.
wow its crazy how different this is from disneyland in cali. Granted thats expected but this seems more like a nice park not ''disney'' like at all...and barely any rides!!!
I know right? China is the biggest country IN THE WORLD! So you'd think that Disney would've made the park extra big to manage the tourist, but they didn't. Disneyland in Cali houses 85,000 people, Walt Disney World houses 100,000 people, and Shanghai Disneyland only houses 35,000 people. This is the smallest Disney Park and It's already having massive traffic jams and crowds. (Worse than Disneyland). Disney should've really thought this out ahead of time!
........this park is the largest Disneyland style park in the world and can accommodate more people at one time than both the Magic Kingdom and Disneyland Park in California.....probably should do more research.
So you’re just going to ignore the fact that this park alone costed $3.5+ billion dollars? You know there is such thing as expansion... which is evident with their new ‘Toy Story Land’ that they just opened a few days ago. I personally think the park is great... yes, it’s very spread out but it has to be... have you seen the crowds? Not to mention that Shanghai alone has a VERY high population (Something that Disney knew the park would have to accomodate for). I know it has limited rides, but you have to admit, the rides they do have are AMAZING (I mean look at Pirates and TRON). I think Shanghai DL is a prime example of “Quality over quantity” in my opinion, and for that I believe it still offers an awesome experience.
What An amazing video. Thankyou so much for taking the time to film this for people who can't be there. I'm curious as to know what type of Camera you are using? And is it maybe a chest mount aswell? :)
Overall, I think this is a very good park. But can it stand comparison to the other Disney parks in the world? Well in my opinion, absolutely not. From what I can see, this feels like an enormous public park filled with gardens and flowerbeds. ....And some theming here and there. The castle sure does look impressive, but I'd rather compare it to a realistic royal mansion than a fairy-tale castle like it's supposed to be. None of the "themed" areas feels immersive here, in part due to the small shrubbery that still needs to grow, but mostly because of those insanely wide paths. Wide paths won't let any kind of landscape feel realistic to walk in, as they keep reminding you you're actually walking in this huge, marvelous, Disneyfied version of Central Park and not themed lands you can explore and unveil (except for the Roaring Rapids waterfall segment, I really enjoyed that part). But the thing that annoys me the most is how blatantly they insist on using this ocher yellow and bright red colors literally EVERYWHERE. Was it necessary to cozy up to Chinese people this much? After all they should come to Disney to experience Disney itself, and not a carbon copy of their everyday culture. So basically buildings, paths and some rockworks are yellow and red no matter where you turn. From the entrance to the very bottom of the park, yellow and red is almost all you see. Where are the beautiful Victorian white and pink colors of Main Street USA? Where are the many shades of brown of Frontierland? ...In a sense I appreciated they tried to go for something new, but Chinese culture is too much in the way of Disney's vision of things (including the language, that makes it quite a challenge for foreign tourists to find their way or even enjoy any simple show or ride which isn't provided with an English version, ergo, all of them), and like some of you said, wide walkways and bare landscapes won't fit and just take away all the huggy feeling that made Magic Kingdom parks famous all over the world. At least the music and some of the (few) rides in here are absolutely great.
but yes i do agree with you on how disney is trying to incorporate the Chinese culture into their park but it takes away from the fact that this is a place of fantasy and enjoyment, but this is assuming that most of the people going to this park are Chinese then i guess they have to make it more on the Chinese side than here in america.
+Mr PJ Well I live in France and I'm only 30 minutes away from Disneyland Paris. I can tell you I am in love with that park because it stays true to the original Disneyland concept Walt conceived when he built the original park, and I know what I'm talking about since I had the chance to see Disneyland California with my own eyes ^^, in spite of this, Disneyland Paris is Europe's n.1 tourist destination, even if it feels much more American than European, people love to go there, mostly due to the fact that it feels so different than our everyday life. Same thing can be said for Japanese and their love for the much Americanized Tokyo Disneyland, so there's really no excuse for the Chinese park... x)
I'm sad that when we went, the Challenge Trailes were closed. Whomp whomp. Anyway, one cool thing to note, if you stay on Disney property (Toy Story Hotel or the Shanghai Disneyland Hotel), there's a second entrance that you can use to enter the park to avoid the large crowds in the main gate! Annnnnd, it's the closest entrance to get to the TRON ride! I posted a video about the park on my channel!
Im do not like the wide open walkways were you can pretty much see everything. Ill give it time, for the trees to grow and fill in. But for now, just looks like Disney plopped a park down in an open field. I don't know, by watching the video i just don't get the same atmosphere as the other parks
C Haack Productions The wide paths had to be built to accomodate the huge crowds and the large population of Shanghai (Just look up how crowded the park gets!)
Great video! You guys should do a video like this for every single Disney park! As for the park itself, it is quite neat and definitely impressive in terms of sheer scope and size. I woild love to visit eventually. I think in time once the foilage grows in and a few more attractions and/or areas are expanded it will be amazing.
the landscaping and attention to detail here is breathtaking.. and that tomorrowland.. my god, i'm speechless

Thanks for the video! Very beautiful theme park. I'm not that fond of the big empty spaces though.Sometimes it seems like you're just in a regular park.
Thank you sooo much for this video! It felt like I was kinda there for a moment..
Shanghai disney is on the top of my list to visit given I’ve never been to China, and this park has exceeded Disneyland’s size and limits.
The cameraman's total disregard for families taking photos is almost heroic.
I guarantee kids ask "are we there yet?" more here than any other Disney park in the world. I got exhausted just virtually walking to the castle. Pack your redbull, kiddos.
🏰Shanghai Disneyland is so beautiful! I hope they plan to add It's A Small World and Space Mountain in the future.
This is a late reply but Its a Small World would most definitely not see the light of day in Shanghai Disneyland, since it has a meaning that I forgot. Basically, it was opposed by the government.
im going in November im so excited
happymarkkj How was it???
Great video! This really gives a good view of the park and its set up
my right ear really enjoyed this
Interesting to see! The castle looks pretty nice, the blue is neat. And pretty big.
Hopefully when the trees grow the park will feel more intimate like the original Disneyland.
Nice video, thanks for sharing
Would love to see these tour for the Magic Kingdom
LOL at the father and son at 1:00 taking a picture with the son trying to do his best to smile and the dad not even trying
I am going to shanghai Disney soon so this really helps me get a good look of it 😁
I'm glad I watched this....Pirates of the Caribbean would be the only reason I'd want to visit. The rest of the park appears like it was designed by first year Imagineers. Tokyo and Hong Kong feel like "old school" Disney....I don't know what this is. Thanks for the awesome video, though! Much appreciated.
Whenever a video is related to China, there'll be hate comments with prejudice lol
Yes, its seems people that come to see these videos have already decided to leave negative comments before seeing the actual video
Not me, I would love to visit.
Stop torturing dogs for fun if you don't like hate comments.
I dont think its necessarily prejudice. some comments did make a point. from the video, I personally dont like this disneyland park. It looks very wide open and less immersive. but it is practical when you consider its potential market size.
Watched the whole video, the park is gorgeous!
The best Disneyland I visited
This Epcot style scale just does NOT work for a Castle Park.
What do you mean by Epcot style scale?
Couldn't agree more, Castle Parks should be very compact
Well remember that there are hundreds of MILLIONS of people within three hours of the park. On a busy day in peak season it's probably horrible.
Impressive at times... but after a while it all starts to look the same. Pathways and trees.
This park is so different. It lacks so many classic disney rides and doesn't have a Main Street. Still I'd like to visit it one day
FallinShade its not called Main Street its called Mickey Avenue
FallinShade its different
wow its crazy how different this is from disneyland in cali.
Kim Kardashian wtf are you even talking about? Do you see how massive the park is?
AussieSorcerer Even though I’ve never actually been to the park, I 100% agree.
What An amazing video. Thankyou so much for taking the time to film this for people who can't be there.
I'm curious as to know what type of Camera you are using? And is it maybe a chest mount aswell? :)
THANK you very much for uploading this!
They have Tron, the best Pirates and the biggest area but they need more magic!! it is so empty..
Amazing Video!
Holy crap is so BIG. Like all that space! Wow!
love it
thank you so much!!!
So much better than Disney world. Every other person in Orlando is 100 pounds overweight!
Love this, would love to visit here one day x
Jesus Christ their castle Is huge! I bet you can see it from a mile away!
I do agree with you but everything is different in person so we really don't know 100% what it's like
That's true! I'll keep my final judgement for the day I'll see it all in person
I completely agree
but yes i do agree with you on how disney is trying to incorporate the Chinese culture into their park but it takes away from the fact that this is a place of fantasy and enjoyment, but this is assuming that most of the people going to this park are Chinese then i guess they have to make it more on the Chinese side than here in america.
Same thing can be said for Japanese and their love for the much Americanized Tokyo Disneyland, so there's really no excuse for the Chinese park... x)
WOW!!!! the castle seems sooooooooooooooooooo far away from main street. speaking of main street, i love this version better then the others.
Beautiful… not one tattoo or obese person in sight.
I'll be doing Tokyo and Shanghai next year...and then I have been to them all~!
GREAT LOVE FROM PAKISTAN
great video!
The Disneyland Hotel at Disneyland Paris was the first to feature these 'private' entrances... Very useful tho 👍
I love the Pirates of the Caribbean play area should have one like that at Disney World
Went to Hong Kong ......gotta go to Shanghai! Looks like a great park!
The first part is like the opening of a bioshock game.
44:53 Where my fiance proposed the very next day!
Great video! You guys should do a video like this for every single Disney park! As for the park itself, it is quite neat and definitely impressive in terms of sheer scope and size. I woild love to visit eventually. I think in time once the foilage grows in and a few more attractions and/or areas are expanded it will be amazing.
Its amazing! It is very very very big!
Thanks for this video! Is the park usually this light on crowds or did you record this video early in the day?
gorgeous park!
I thought Magic Kingdom was big. This park is gigantic!
Is there a "Here You Leave Today..." plaque at the entrance? I didn't see one on the archway.
Also, no circumference train?
