I'm pretty stoic but when Walker sings this and you just see Lloyds face breakdown it got me. Time has past, friends and lovers have moved on and his mother is probably gone and he's just old and tired and alone in the end but time just keeps on moving no matter what.
It’s good to see the Yellowstone fanboys and girls appreciate Ryan’s music 13 years after it was released. All Choked Up Again and The Poet were both released on his Junky Star album back in 2010. As someone who’s followed Ryan for more than 15 years, it’s good to see him finally getting some credit.
I discovered a gold mine of music after watching Yellowstone. I made a Ryan Bingham radio station on pandora and became a country music fan. Colter Wall, Ryan Bingham, Tyler Childers, and Zach Bryan are all top notch artists and story tellers.
@@jflannel1965 Right on! I also tried whiskey for the first time in years. Last time I drank it I got shit faced and threw up all night, back when I was in the Marine Corps. Never touched it until I started watching the characters drinking it nearly every episode on Yellowstone. Love it! Especially when I’m building furniture and listening to come good outlaw country.
This guy is good! And this song is great. Im a lifelong metal and punk fan. Never thought I'd love country music but Yellowstone has great music on it.
And as I get long gone Out where the wind blows The desert sky, she flies by for miles And as I keep walkin' People keep a-talkin' About things they've never seen or done Homeless sleep in the park Sweet hearts kiss in the dark I myself just move on through town Moon keeps on shinin' And the rich keep on dinin' And, oh, how I love the highway sun And out to the back The poet writes his songs in blood Where the coyotes are callin' Stars keep on fallin' Your mother, she won't be around A feather blows down the road And the wind is cold, your wings are broke And your heart is livin' on the run Lonely and wasted Her eyes replaced it And I don't think I'll make another mile Town to town I run My horse ain't too drunk The wind is singin' to the sun And out to the back The poet writes his songs in blood But the jukebox is barkin' I'm just gettin' started I've yet to see the light of day Senoritas lose it To the Mariachi music 'Cause New York is too far away And the band keeps on playin' With beer bottles breakin' And the barmaid, I heard she pulled the gun Poet takes a pistol Points it at this sister Says, "Honey, your day is done" And out to the back The poet writes his song in blood Out to the back The poet writes his song in blood
No doubt after hearing this on that episode of Yellowstone, i found it on Spotify and just absolutely needed to get these lyrics. So many caught my attention when listening to the song It's so relevant on so many levels to so many people. This is an absolute kinda song that'll choke you up after a long night out and you come home from the bar and put it on. But i love it.

So here I am rewatching Parenthood on Peacock and I hear this song on S2 Ep15. It was faintly playing in the background but I looked it up and sure nuff, same song. Good for Ryan..
I wasn’t much into country before. My how Yellowstone has changed my life for the better. I know it’s just a dam TV show, but it’s more than that if that’s what you make of it.

Do yourselves a favor and check out Mescalito. Long Way From Georgia is a song that has haunted my soul since '08.

God this makes me tear up everytime I hear it.
And as I get long gone
Out where the wind blows
The desert sky, she flies by for miles
And as I keep walkin'
People keep a-talkin'
About things they've never seen or done
Homeless sleep in the park
Sweet hearts kiss in the dark
I myself just move on through town
Moon keeps on shinin'
And the rich keep on dinin'
And, oh, how I love the highway sun
And out to the back
The poet writes his songs in blood
Where the coyotes are callin'
Stars keep on fallin'
Your mother, she won't be around
A feather blows down the road
And the wind is cold, your wings are broke
And your heart is livin' on the run
Lonely and wasted
Her eyes replaced it
And I don't think I'll make another mile
Town to town I run
My horse ain't too drunk
The wind is singin' to the sun
And out to the back
The poet writes his songs in blood
But the jukebox is barkin'
I'm just gettin' started
I've yet to see the light of day
Senoritas lose it
To the Mariachi music
'Cause New York is too far away
And the band keeps on playin'
With beer bottles breakin'
And the barmaid, I heard she pulled the gun
Poet takes a pistol
Points it at this sister
Says, "Honey, your day is done"
And out to the back
The poet writes his song in blood
Out to the back
The poet writes his song in blood
Wow amazing!!!!! 🔥🔥🔥
Not all hero’s wear capes, thank you for the lyrics to read while listening to this beautiful song!
