At the time Etsy didn't have the capabilities to do the options I needed (like have multiple variant choices or item specific choices per product). Plus I wanted to start collecting customer email lists which Etsy didnt allow back then. I wanted something I can control. If Etsy ever went out of biz then I lose all of my customers info and contact mailing lists etc...
