Awesome dude, you really seem to know what you're doing. It LOOKS like you're GREAT at the game but even after Day 8 and trying to set up shop in House #2 (Silent Forest), I'm getting ROCKED lol. Some nights are fine, other nights I'm barely hanging on lol!
@@avian12311 Thanks a lot xD but I'm not so sure about knowing what I was doing, though just avoid making too much noise as those things can and will hear you xD that's what I did for a lot of my runs, totally scared nonetheless. But yeah, some of the nights are truly a horrendous time, you will make it, though, just be more on your defensive side.
@@soulessx28 Thank you! Not to bother you again but would you happen to have any recommendations as far as the Skills (and their Negative Perks..) go? I'm seriously unsure as to what I should go with and what would help me the most in the long run, even for ALL of the tiers lol!
@@avian12311 I always used the ones I imagined would be the most useful for my playstyle. Navigator is the one I never go without because I remember many moments where I couldn't stop to loot or go near interesting places, whether it was too risky or I was carrying a lot of stuff. So, I used Navigator to leave a mark and then I could go to my hideout, drop off my items, and check the map to see where the hell I marked to go and loot it or check it out. xD It's also a really helpful tool if you think you're lost and it's getting dark. Acid Blood was the second one I mostly used because I leaned more toward an offensive playstyle, though Runner is pretty useful too if you know when to use it, like when you're running out of time and you're not near your hideout, or to safely avoid some enemies chasing you. (Also, some people don't know, but randomly throughout the maps, there are some roads, and while you're standing, walking, or running on them, you regenerate stamina more quickly, and it drains much slower too, so it can save you if you happen to get chased near a road.) Appetite is a must-have for me as it offers a new and cheap way to heal. The last one I always get is Vitality. It might sound stupid, I know, but that extra health can save you from some awful deaths. Adrenaline can be useful too if you don't care about firearms; I never used it since by that time in the game, you're pretty stacked on ammo. I would advise you to use firearms, as they are great, and you shouldn't be scared to use them while exploring and such. But if you're in your hideout at night, it's better to go melee. You really don't want to make too much noise at night unless you have plenty of ammo.
@@soulessx28 Oh my goodness dude, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! You have NO idea how much you've helped me! It's difficult to find guides and tips in 2024 for specific things sometimes, and so I can't tell you how much I genuinely appreciate this! Would you say that firearms and ammo are WORTH using, or should I be saving up as much ammo as possible, only firing when I absolutely HAVE to? Or can I sort of expend the ammunition as I go and not worry TOO much as the game progresses? Lastly, any tips against multiple Savages as well as Chompers? Thank you so much for your time, energy, patience and help man!!!
@@avian12311 Nah, don't worry, just ask me, it's fine. And yeah, use the weapons you have. The only really limited one is the Assault Rifle. While it's useful, it's not that worth it because the ammo is so scarce. If you're in Silent Forest or Old Woods, it's better to use the pistol as your main weapon. The ammo for it isn’t that costly, and it'll be more helpful than you think. I find it really fun and effective, at least for me xD. I usually keep a pistol and a melee weapon in my hotbar no matter what, as if the gun fails, the melee weapon could make up for it. The third slot in my hotbar was for the shotgun. If you have a shotgun, even if it's the single-shot reloadable one, carry it with some shells. Just one stack of shells is fine if you're on Silent Forest or Old Woods, as you won't need a shotgun in Dry Meadow but, **if you're not on any of these parts, then carry more shells**. Use it for chompers or any other tanky enemies you encounter, and/or the ones that are risky to take down with melee. Those little fuckers are a real pain if you don't give them the attention they want since they act pretty fast. If you see a Chomper charging its attack, just do sidesteps or rotate around it, or stop aiming and run to create some distance. That way, you can avoid the attack or get behind it with some space. You can take them down with melee or the pistol, but they're tankier than most enemies, so unless you have a Shovel or an Axe as your melee, don't even bother xD and using the Pistol against them could be a waste of bullets, that's why the shotgun is almost needed, all of the shotguns can one-shot those assholes. Just be careful to not miss the shot xD. Also, if you're just scare to use the firearms and wanna melee them, be even MORE careful, because when you melee them, you're also gonna split them in half and make them chase you, crawling and slower, but it can be a bit more exhausting to kill them, specially if you have more than one attacking you. As for multiple Savages and Chompers, well, maybe even with molotovs and running around can be enough? though I don't really remember how the molotov works. I always kill Savages with the Pistol once I have it with ammo, though using melee with them it's fine too if you know how to deal with them, evading rocks, knowing how to dodge the stick and stuff, then it's okey. Evading the rocks it's as simple as just not standing still, the stick range IS HUGE so be careful, it can and will fuck you up if you're not careful. What I used to do with the Savages that carry sticks is get close enough for them to attack me, and as soon as I saw that they were about to hit, I'd move back to dodge, then hit them myself. Though if you have a pistol just shoot at them xD Firearms are worth using, and you should spend more on ammo if you're not already xD they're helpful and should be your main weapon in the game once you have enough ammo to start using them without the risk of running out of ammo. Don't go around trigger happy either, obviously xD like yeah, if you see some enemies then shoot them, like a pack of wolves, dogs, some 3 savages or stuff like that, but if its like one savage just mindlessly eating shit then go and kill it with melee and stuff, just be more confident xD Also talking about dogs, if you find yourself with meat and those nasty fuckers wanna kill you, just throw the meat at the ground away from you, so they'll leave you alone and go eat it; don't get close to them anyway xD killing them with melee is risky but easy if you're experienced, I'm not that experienced though, that's why I usually shoot at them with a pistol. Also, if you see those chomper-like bodies on the ground that explode, throw rocks at them if they’re blocking the way of something you need. That way, you can blow them up safely without the risk of dealing damage to yourself in the process. Oh, and I just remembered: if you've killed Elks, they drop Antlers. The Antler is a unique healing item that restores a lot of health. But, they’re also worth 100 rep. I always sold them xD. So if you have them, sell them if you need the rep. You can also store them if you don’t want to risk dying or something, though I never really used them like that since I always had enough healing items around me xD. I've said "if you've killed Elks" because.. well let's say they're tanky, a bit too much tanky, idk if it will be worth it for you to kill one, you'll see for yourself depending on your situation xD I'm bad at explaining stuff, so if you wanna ask me for something more detailed I'll do my best, and yeah, guides about the game could be a bit hard to find, though, I'm sure you yourself can learn almost everything by yourself without my or anyone else's help xD be more confident at trying the items you find in the game; If it's giving you a firearm and ammo, healing items, pills, planks and nails, upgrade materials and stuff, use them if you can xD You'll learn more about the game as you're playing it, but if you want some more help, ask mee it's okey
you should buy things from the merchant. i ended my first playthrough without using most of the guns, so i had to play it again
Thanks, I did actually use most of the guns later, I just like the melee. I don't play it that much now, though.
