There was an assassination attempt on Bob Marley,in December 3,1976 by a group of gunmen while Bob and The Wailers were rehearsing inside his house.
One bullet struck Bob in the sternum and the bicep and another bullet got his wife,Rita in the head.Fortunately,they were not severely injured.Despite the attack Bob still played at his scheduled show!
Bob Marley loved playing football!He's been quoted as saying,''Football is freedon,a whole universe.We love it because you have to be skillful to play it.''
Bob Marley was in a serious romantic relationship with Miss World 1976,Cindy Breakspeare,who is the mother of Damien Marley.
Marley's nickname was ''white boy'' due to his father who was a white British naval captain.He's been quoted as saying,''I'm not on the white man's side or the black man's side.I'm on God's side.''
In 1977 Bob was diagnosed with cancerous cells in his previously injured toe.He denied to have any form of surgery or treatment.
The cancer discovered in Bob's toe spread throughout his body.He fought the cancer for months but he eventually died,in Miami,Florida,on May 11,1981.
Bob Marley is in the Rock Hall Of Fame since 1994 and has sold over 20.000.000 records...He received The Order Of Meit from the Jamaican government and had been awarded The Medal Of Peace from the United Nations!
According to a myth,there were found 19 different species of lice in his dreadlocks.
