July 2024. In the late early '00s or so, I purchased a TFM 8000W used on EBay to make up for first one which was stolen back in 1980. The FM was OK, but all AM did not work at all. I waited years to have it repaired repaired in early 2024, for hundreds of dollars. I don't know if it was worth it as any AM, not to mention shortwave here are so poor. I lived at different location than back when bought and mostly used the first unit. But analog tuners are still better here on AM than the PLL ones.
That was my first sw in 1975 as a kid. Received for Christmas that year. Wish so bad had kept it. Dad took me to henry radio and wanted the big tube radios but the salesmen said this is really what you want. He was right....

I have recently acquired that one. 50 years old and still working as brand new. Amazing quality.
