I could see Johann standing next to you and smiling doing his work with perfection.
epic organist Anna Lapwood
So incredible to see a young organist, of such talent, rapidly rising on the world stage. I came of age listening, teary-eyed, to the genius of Virgil Fox and E. Power Biggs, neither of whom are with us any longer. She's just incredible, and such a joy to listen to, when it seems everyone else in the world is listening to "music of lesser stature."
I would SO MUCH love to her performing Bach's "Toccata and Fugue in D Minor (Dorian)" ..... a lesser-known piece, but one of my own all-time favorites. It was the introductory piece to the "seating music" when my lovely bride and I were wed many years ago.
It made me weep it was so beautiful
My opinion on my multitasking abilities may never recover! A fantastic piece of music performed on a fantastic instrument... By a fantastic musician!
I wish I had words to match what she's playing, to explain how beautiful that was.
She explained what “pulling all the stops” meant and demonstrated it in one of her other videos.
❤her!
Those white knobs are stops
I love her for her interpretations and collaborations with Bonobo. And, of course, for beauty ;) just to be clear...
I could sit and listen all day to this young lady work her magic on these classics.
She's an amazing talent and I always look forward to her videos.
Amazing talent; a joy to listen to and watch.
Excellente organiste! un talent fou ! bravo
Anna channeling her inner Bach. I'm sure he his looking down smiling.
Absolutely beautiful piece of music brilliantly played by a very talented young lady keep playing Anna as you are my favorite organist n always will be
Fabulous performance with awesome control. I thoroughly enjoyed listening.
Beautiful 🎵🌾 thank you
Absolutely wonderful.
Fascinating that this wonderful piece of music is interpreted in subtly different ways by different artists. This is one of my very favorite interpretations.
What a remarkable young lady, this Ms. Lapwood!
Brilliant on so many levels !
Just wow! Awesome skills🎉
I love you Anna ❤🥰 you are the best❤
Anna you are AWSOME. ❤
So beautifully played ❤❤
Divine!💓
Wow !!
Es una gran organista, para lo joven que es, además de directora de coros 👌❤
Wow !!!!
Crystal clear playing - very enjoyable, thank you
Fabulous
Great... Waiting for Toccata and Fugue in D minor....
Molto brava
Es maravillosa...
go girl go😛
Brings back the joy of hearing the great Gillian Weir, then just a bit younger than Anna, in her debut concert at London's Royal Festival Hall. Both players are hugely affirmative of new young talent. That's wonderful.
Wow. Enjoying your incredible talent here in Indiana USA.
Really love the music, just can’t see where you would start learning how to play a machine with so many controls!!
You start on a piano or keyboard
Most that I knew, started under an organist at churches or cathedrals.
If I remember correctly, it wasn't complicated, it just looked imposing.
But yes, as someone said, learning klavier, keyboard, piano was the first step. I could never get the foot work down, so I never took it seriously. Mainly just trying to pretend I was Phantom of the Opera or the like (the first few bars of Toccata and Fugue) when the cathedral was empty.
No requirement to start on piano... in some cases knowing how to play the piano can actually get in the way a little and cause complications.
It's not that hard if one is interested. I'm a helicopter pilot. And I love this music :-)
I think you start by growing a few extra pairs of arms.
Amazing performance!! Does anyone know if there is a video of her playing the associated fugue?
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
the business..simple as....👍
Anna please play Widor soon?
Нестандартное исполнение, мне понравилось. И хорошо, что без фуги.
Impressive on ear 'phones but live would have been insane!
Better with ear protectors
Do you mean youtube compressed and crippled recording? For sure high definition sound recording is the best source for high definition earphones..
How do you know what the numbered couplers do and what are the extra pedals please?
The simple explanation is that she can set those numbered buttons to any combination of stops she wants so she can change things around quickly during the performance. I presume what you mean by the extra pedals are the extra toe buttons that are above the row of regular pedals. Those are exactly the same thing as the numbered buttons under the keyboards only you can press them with your foot if you need to.
@@sueboettcher also in the middle there is a swell pedal to open the swell box, which creates a crescendo effect for certain stops
@@jeannebouwman1970 The RAH has three expression pedals, as three divisions are enclosed within large boxes with shutters, the Orchestral Swell and Solo divisions. Apart from the usual toe pistons there is also a sequencer piston for very rapid registration changes.
Great performance, but what's with the horrid recording?? I thought my headphones crapped out.
Maybe they did? Unless you are nitpicking the highs and lows. I’m using mid-range JBL over ears and I had no issues.

Non si possono non notare molte libertà esecutive che all'orecchio poco allenato cambiano poco o nulla alla pagina dell'autore.
It's reading that fearsome music that I find incredible (especially three lines at once) even if it is only a reminder for an expert. The staff/stave seems such a useless tool for accommodating the range of notes available!

Always a shame that the organist's back is towards her audience, as with a conductor.
