I live an hour east of Morgantown. Garrett County, Maryland just had our first Pride ever. On June 15. Probably smaller than Morgantown but it was nicely attended and very positive. I’m a gay Christian and my church will have a table at Cumberland Pride next weekend.

No one is pushing it on kids... but it's important that kids DO know it's ok, if they're LGBTQIA+ and that they know their parents will still love them. There's far too high a number of kids dying by suicide because of their homophobic family.
@@Countryperson666 Some leftists may push it on the kids, in the schools and libraries especially, when kids should be learning Math, Science, Reading, Writing, Critical thinking. I'm also apart of the LGBTQ (Bi) and this is my opinion. IMO, I would put LGBTQ education in health class for 11th, maybe 12th grade (ages 17-18) which is when kids start developing more and are getting out to the real world (i.e.-Trade school, undergrad, etc.)

Let's not forget the amount of movie where characters constantly talk about heterosexual who they are interested in , locker room talk , furthermore married couples either talk about having sex or get ask repeatedly by their family If they are going to be having unprotected sex soon. As they want grandchild. It's a common topic in the work place. Asking or telling people you and your partner are trying. Not sure gay people are the ones who are broadcasting bareback sex with each other. Then for the next 18 years that person identify is influenced by the event of that unprotected sex. The twice a year those parents are then given a reminder that they reproduced when it comes to mothers day and father's day . Unless they've been adopted.
Funny how that's not treated the same. Before we jump to pride which stands for Personal Rights in Defense and Education . Pride is still protest because trans people are still being oppressed and forced in to segregation. Intersex children are still being operated on and forced in to a male or female binary when they bodys is physical outside of that binary. Gay men are still being attacked. Globally people are being killed. Indonesia still has public lashing for anyone caught, that includes breaking in to people homes recording them and handing it over to the police.
Now as far as I'm aware, noone is being forced to say happy Pride during pride month. Noone is asking people to do it.
Yet if we fast Forward 6 months we have an entire month of a Christian holiday "forced" on everyone. From coffee cups not being Christmasy enough to demanding people say merry Christmas.

I have gay family members and i have no issue with any of them but there isnt a black history month parade everywhere every year or a womens voting parade every year. Just do what you want to and do it by yourself that would for one, make people respect it more and not feel like its something being pushed and also its just not right to think you need a parade and party just about you.
