I love how the comic writer took the ‘harder daddy’ “son?” Joke and made it an actual heartwarming plot point
Yeah I was legiterally thinking about that. “Son?!?” Hits way different with this.
Well if you think about it, that is pretty much confirmation that he has a son, and he got mad when he realized it was a joke

this comic actually makes a good way to show how yes he is a good person but reminds us why he was in hell in the first place
First off, no one really knows what gets people into Heaven or Hell at this point - although this incident might have played a role in it, it's impossible to say what the deciding factor was. Secondly, one can interpret his motives in multiple ways here: for instance, when he tells the kid that he doesn't love him it could be him telling the truth (he only learned to appreciate his son after he was gone and lived with the regret of his actions ever since) or it could also be an attempt to dismiss the kid with a lie to cover up the fact that he really did care about him deep down (even if he was terrible at expressing it) and he was so hurt by the loss that he tried to forget about him (perhaps by burying himself in his work with machines - perhaps going so far as to convince himself that he has a machine-like personality that doesn't feel anything to escape the pain).
The dialogue here is layers upon layers of possible interpretations and I absolutely *love* that!

1. We don’t really know why people end up in Hell - while his treatment of the kid may have had something to do with it, we don’t know what the deciding factor was.

Emily once again shows that she's the ideal example of what an angel should be in the Hellaverse. Compassionate, kind, understanding, empathetic, patient, and wise beyond her years.

I have a theory that when a soul enters Heaven, if it’s before they turn to an adult, they stay a child until both their parents are in Heaven with them. If one of them dies, however, they stay a child perpetually.

I absolutely love how this actually made Sir Pentious a bad person when he he was on Earth. That may sound a little strange, but i see alot of comics saying how Sir Pentious was actually a good person and he was in hell by the wrong judgement. so I love how this one actually showed how much he'd changed its a beautiful piece of work.
I don't think this comic show him as a bad person at all. This just made him a very hurt, very scared, father who didn't want to see his child suffer and die and didn't have the power to make it better.

Its funny to think that Emily and pen are just having an emotional moment right in front of the child he just told that he isn't their father, also a playground FULL of other children, like can they not hear him sobbing his eyes out?? 😂 /Lh /nm
What's even sadder is that there are children in hell. Earthborn demons who died as children. This is another serious red flag in the system. Children are too young for something like this, no matter what they do.
This hits different when angel dust said “HARDERR DADDDYYYY!!!!” And sir Pentious says “Son?…”
I love this comic. This discussion makes sense. He had no real idea how redemption works.
I would love for it to be part of the show as another way of showing redemption.

Well, given what we know about her character, her role in this society is ensuring the happiness of the population - by acting as a counselor to Sir Pentious, she's fulfilling that duty to both him and his son.

Oh man this was amazing you have to dub the other comics from this artist. I love their work and the va’s sound amazing to the point they actually sound like the real ones.
This makes me think that what decides if people go to heaven or hell is where they believe they belong, i mean Adam is in haven and we saw how he is, who's to say there aren't more like him

The reason he thought angel dust was his son was when Angel said "harder daddy" the reason he has his EGG BOYS! Egg as in child, and he has a *son* being a boy!
1:57 I love it when characters with extra eyes have multiple focuses. And I ADORE that 'whuh' expression you gave Emily. I also love that next scene where Emily is having a Steven Universe moment while Pentious is on the verge of crying.

I had seen this comic before on RUclips and I was sad that it didn’t have any kind of reconciliation between him and his son.
Never thought I would cry at a cartoon but here I am… waterworks and all
Im gonna be honest, this comic was heart-wrenching. I was in tears by the time this ended. This is.. powerful to say the least and you know, sir pentious as well as he's one of my favorite characters, is a sweet person underneath everything he did before.
Everyone makes mistakes, everyone fucks up now and again, but second chances can always be given. In his case, it was. and pentious, I am proud of you for admitting to this, and i am especially proud of you for what you did at the hotel.
