Are you planning to travel Switzerland and are curious about what is the best travel experiences in Switzerland and what to do in the Swiss Alps? My travel diary on what to do in Switzerland in Summer will provide some inspiration.
Lucerne is probably the most beautiful city in Switzerland, and amongst the nicest places to visit in all of Europe! If you are planning to visit Switzerland in summer, make sure to plan for a stop-over in Lucerne. This striking medieval town sits on the edge of scenic Lake Lucerne and looks up at some of the most impressive mountain peaks in the country.
The Kapellbrücke, the Chapel Bridge, is certainly Lucerne’s most famous landmark and one of most famous buildings in the city. The bridge and tower are among the most photographed scenes in all of Switzerland. The iconic 14th century wooden bridge is best known for its tall stone water tower and restored paintings in the roof of the interior. This winding bridge runs diagonally for 200 metres. In the ceiling you can view 30 triangular 17th-century paintings depicting events from Lucerne’s history. There used to be many more before a fire unfortunately destroyed most of the bridge in 1993. Back on the old town side of river Reuss, take a walk along the riverside with all the cafes and restaurants and head towards Spreuer Bridge which was built in 1406 and mimics the design of the Chapel Bridge.
The Hofkirche is Lucerne’s medieval Romanesque basilica. Its architecture is in the late Renaissance style, with elements from the original church, like the pair of towers and some medieval and Renaissance ornamentation in the interior. Schwanenplatz is a square in Lucerne old town, right next to Lake Lucerne, where you can frequently spot swans enjoying themselves - that’s where it gets its name.

Now the prices are extremely "flexible". A bottle o Coca Cola for 1.35 francs. 500ml. But here in U.S., at the grocery store (big chains) it is $1.99. If you want just one. The box of 6 is $3.50. But I bought from Walmart with $2.89 box of 6 bottles online. A few months ago, at Wegmans for $2.50 (4 boxes of 6 bottles each for $10) .
Thank you for watching Valentin. Yes, the prices seem to fluctuate quite a bit. But overall, I'd say the prices in Switzerland for everyday items and food are still much higher than in the US.

@@TheFlyingDutchMan8K I’m still experimenting a bit. Currently between FInal Cut Pro and Davinci Resolve. But also just using iMovie for some videos. I read that Premiere takes a lot of time to render so didn’t add it to my list.
@@januslog ok , ive seen video's online that Adobe premiere pro fade the color with export ! so i made a export lut so i can get my contrast back in my video's ! thats why i ask ;) i'm not a apple guy ;) i think Final Cut Pro is more stable app for video . . . Davinci Resolve is a good program ( i think its a free program ) but to difficult for me ;)
@@TheFlyingDutchMan8K I agree, Davinci is quite powerful but also a bit of a pain to use. I don’t like the interface
I was in Lucerne end of August 2019.
I was amazed at the lack of crowds in the video. Must be due to lack of tourists from the "four corners"...mostly just locals...due to Covid 2020.
It is a beautiful city to walk around...
Yes, it wasn’t too crowded but I also went fairly early on a Sunday morning to avoid the crowds 😊. Not sure how it is now though. Maybe my subscribers from Lucerne could give an update.

It really is. This was recorded during the summer. At the time, the covid numbers in Switzerland were super low. Masks were mandatory in public transport but not outside.

Such a peaceful and relaxing ambience & you made it even more so by those lovely background music... wish I could be there... and ironically while surrounded by peace and serenity, there’s indeed a strong message conveyed by each of the paintings on the bridges..
Thank you Aishah. yes, the paintings in these bridges are quite amazing. It feels like going through an art museum but your crossing a bridge at the same time. Some of the paintings on Spreuer bridge are quite spooky though :)
Enjoyed watching Pt II of the Lucerne walk - very nicely done, edited and got a great overview of the city. Really enjoyed the bridge info and amazed by the Dance of Death paintings. Will have to research a bit more of those to learn their history. Keep up the great logs! And yes... I need to check out your other countries’ coverage as soon as I get over the Swiss fascination. do you recommend I should base in zurich and vist lucerne for day trip or base in lucerne and visit zurich for day trip ?? after spending two days in zurich/ lucerne , i plan to stay in jungfrau for 6 nights...
Good question. I would probably stay in Lucerne (in fact I did 😊) as it’s closer to many of the landmarks and sightseeing locations and I just find it the city more cozy. Great choice to also visit the Jungfrau region 👍😊

Hi, very nice and informative video about Lucern. I am from Malta and I am planning a 10 days holiday in Switzerland for the end of May or June and I am considering staying 4 nights in Lucern and 4 nights in Lauterbrunnen and the last night in Zurich. I am not planning to rent a car I am going to travel by Trian if you don't mind do you have any recommendations which places should I visit during our stay in Lucern and if you know even in Lauterbrunnen? If I go to Mout Pilatus from Lucern it take a whole day? Thanks a lot and have a nice day.
