Thanks for this scientific dissection of the script of antivaxx lies brought to the Westminster parliament by a corrupt MP. I dare not think what the way of thinking behind the antivaxxer lies he reels off would mean if ever translated into a position of power. Bridgen is well known as a liar who associates with the thoroughly discredited and despicable.
@@DC-wt2vi Ditto, the despicable Dr. Aseem Malhotra seated behind him and to his right.

Thanks Dr S for another down to earth debunking. Bridgen is puffed up as usual, and he looks as though he is about to burst through that suit of his.
Another much needed video on excess bollocks.
It's a bloody shame that this constantly recurring nonsense has to be debunked again and again.
In any case, well done once more.
Below is a list of registered deaths from England and Wales ( as used by Bridgen at the start of his speech). He states the figures are oscillating, when in fact as Dr Susan shows there is somewhat slow but steady rise from 2009.
Bridgen states all the sick and elderly passed away in 2020 so there should have been a dip thereafter. The difference between 2020 and the previous 2 years shows an excess of 60,000 deaths in 2020.
Does Bridgen believe all of England and Wales sick and elderly are encompassed in that figure and there was none left to pass away the following years. I live here there are plenty fit baby boomers over 70 around. I was sat in the pub last week with a 91 year old, 3 in their 70s. All mobile, sorry Andrew the elderly didnt disappear in 2020.

This is indeed what they "believe". They've clearly never ever "understood" that an infectious disease like COVID does not have a simple dichotomic end-result (death or completely fine), but actually creates loads of new sick people.

No need. RUclips demonetised them long ago. RUclips is good because we get to hear both sides of the argument. Censorship achieves nothing because people will believe what they want to believe and no one can be trusted to be the sole arbiter of truth.
Bridgen's talk about "sacrificing" children for adults brings to mind the story of an old lady here who told me about how her parents and sister were found dead in bed from the Spanish flu, and how she and her remaining sister were then shuttled around the country to various orphanages for the rest of her childhood.
There were a lot of people who tried to guilt trip the elderly for wanting to live, instead of sacrificing themselves so that the kids didn't get to miss any school or a party at the height of the pandemic. They seem to forget that losing a parent or having them end up handicapped, has a really bad impact on a kid. If that kid was the one who brought the disease home that killed or ruined the parent's health, it's going to be a lot worse for them psychologically, than having to homeschool for a couple of terms and meet their friends online. Most kids have the bulk of their social interaction via a smart phone these days anyway. There are about a quarter of a million covid orphans in the USA alone. Some of these lost both of their parents.

It is hard to take aboard at a time of sadness, but SARS2 and the disease covid set up circumstances that accelerate illnesses such as dementia. A previous covid infection will have been taken into account and its part recorded on the certificate. Sadly, we will see more accelerated dementia as the terrible effects of covid continues across populations.
@@DC-wt2vi I'm not sure whether it's people's preconceived Ideas or a reluctance to accept some things during the pandemic were not quite right. But, to clarify, my dad never had covid, not at the time he died nor previously. His care home were very, very good in this respect - the residents were monitored for any symptoms and tested regularly and staff protocol was spot on. The care home did have systems in place, and unlike others were well equipped to deal wit the pandemic.
He was however, in the final stages of vascular dementia (also had Alzheimer's) and was expected to enter the final stage where the patient usually succumbs. It was entirely expected, and it was nothing to do with covid: bear in mind the there was pneumonia stated, which he categorically did not have, and that was a straight out lie.
@@markburton8303 Sorry for your loss. Have you asked the hospital to provide to you evidence that he had Covid-19? Freedom of information should give you the right to request his health records. Just to clarify, this wasn't in parliament, it was in a hall that him and his bunch of antivaxxers hired within the same building that houses parliament.
The meeting you are talking about was on 4th December last year, he hired a room in Portcullis House for his anti-vax mates, Kirsch et al.
This footage is from 16th January and he had to apply for this time period back in December, and they offered him Westminster Hall.
Although not in The House, it is in the Palace of Westminster and debates in Westminster Halls are sanctioned by the "Backbench Business Committee
The Backbench Business Committee meets weekly on Tuesdays to consider requests for debates from any backbench Members of Parliament on any subject.
The Committee then has to decide how to allocate the limited Parliamentary time it has at its disposal."
Interestingly, the chair at this debate was Sir Gary Streeter. Apparently, he is a right wing Christian Evangelist who supports capital punishment. Sound familiar?

4:31 clearly the honourable member for Leicestershire North West didn’t look at the excess death profile after the 1918 flu pandemic, particularly between 1920 & 1925.
This brings to mind a paper from 1932 Dr Oliver mentioned in her video "Dr John Campbell responds to excess deaths criticism with misinformation" from July 2023.
*Abstract:* It was found in this study of the weekly deaths from all causes during 1918-29 in 35 large cities of the United States, that during every influenza epidemic the excess mortality from all causes was appreciably higher than the excess mortality credited to influenza and pneumonia, i.e., the excess above the median expected figure for the seasons of the year. In the minor epidemics since 1920 about 40 per cent. of the excess mortality from all causes was due to organic heart disease, nephritis, cerebral haemorrhage, diabetes, respiratory tuberculosis, bronchitis and puerperal conditions other than septicaemia. In the epidemics of 1918-1919 and 1920 respiratory tuberculosis and puerperal causes were more important as contributions of excess deaths than in any epidemic since 1920.

I hear from antivax land that Bridgen is a hero. Not the word that springs to my mind.
In ruling against him in Bridgen's case against his family/business, a High Court judge said that Bridgen "lied under oath and behaved in an abusive, arrogant and aggressive manner", was "an unreliable and combative witness who tried to conceal his own misconduct", and "gave evasive and argumentative answers and tangential speeches that avoided answering the questions".
Bridgen claimed that his brother kicked him out of a (£1.5m) property. The judge said that was a lie, and that Bridgen had moved out to reduce how much he would have to pay for his divorce settlement.
Bridgen was evicted from the property, and ordered to pay £800,000 in legal costs
In April 2022 Bridgen stated that "in actuality I won the case and my brother will be compelled by the Court in due course to repay considerable sums of money back to the business".

I remember during the vax roll out that during the 15 min period you had to wait, I was in a room with about 50 or so other people. You telling me people didn't catch covid then and could be contributing to the uptick in death around that time.
Also, most of the people that would have died during the pandemic were sheilding, so didn't die!
Now we are mixing and covid is still around, it's not really surprising that deaths are still high
Our local surgery got people to wait in their cars, for that 15 minutes, if they had come by car, unless they had a history of anaphylaxis, in which case to wait in the waiting room for 40 minutes. I have had anaphylaxis in the past so waited in the waiting room. I was the only one there for that 40 minutes. The surgery was also very heavily ventilated - all outside doors and windows open, and we had to queue outside in the open, until called through to be vaccinated. And all had to be masked.

There was a period not so long ago when ambulance waiting time was really terrible in the UK. My friends son, a man of about 50 slipped on a wet lane and had a compound leg fracture. It was raining. He was left waiting for 16 hours for an ambulance. Luckily for him some people found him and looked after him with blankets and cover from the rain, and refreshments. Those were dark days, and caused by a huge increase in need for ambulance transport, and very busy hospitals. Yet an antivaxxer slipped into the hospital and filmed an empty concourse which would have normally been filled with visitors and outpatients and tried to say the hospital was not busy with Covid patients.
That is terrible. The poor man.
@@Backtothescience Shocking at the time, but he is fine now. When I send new pilots to fly solo I recommend that they make monthly donations to the SCAA. Since the SCSS was founded in 2013 at least 60 of the pilots I have sent solo, are still contributing regularly.
Unfortunately some of the pilots have had need of the SCAA's services.
Another rationally explained episode. Choose your ‘heroes’ wisely.
