Rabbit hunting was the number one activity for us after Christmas when I was a teenager. We had a mixed pack of hounds and beagles , and an endless amount of property that folks gave us permission to walk over looking for rabbits . How times change.
Small game hunting with good friends or family is some of the most fun I've ever had. Chasing rabbits, hootin and hollerin the whole time, shotguns going off everywhere. If you find a pile of rabbits it can be constant action. The other day my uncle and I had 4 dead in 5 minutes all inside 1 blackberry thicket. Ended up with 7 that day and 3 got away from us. Plus they eat good too lol
Yes! Been binge watching all rabbit hunting videos. Got 6 off public in Missouri last week. Running solo and no dogs. Most fun hunting I had in a long time. Next year I'm looking forward to going with my son and some friends.
Like a couple others said, would love to see you guys work in a little more cooking/eating the game you kill into some videos. Always good to show the animals being utilized and the cooking and hanging out eating makes for interesting content. Keep up the great work all. Best hunting channel out there in my opinion!
We used to go snow shoe hunting in northern WI when I was a kid. The whole family (9 of us) marching through the woods pushing rabbits. Great memories.
When you crowd the pan when searing, it's called braising. Use a skillet, single layer only with some space between the pieces, you want to brown it not steam it. It's the only chance to get the flavor from a maillard reaction.
Looks like it was fun. My brother used to rabbit hunt. My job was wash them off after he skinned them. Here's a tip. Take a butter knife around the inside edge of the soup can and the soup will mostly plop right out.
I started hunting with rabbits. Lately it's been ring necks and deer only. I'm 65 now. After watching this I am going to take up rabbit hunting again. What great sport. And maybe I'll dig out that first shotgun to do it with.
I use a similar recipe= but after searing/braising in olive oil, I mix a can of cream of mushroom and a can of cream of chicken with a 1/2 cup milk for every 2 rabbits in the cooker. Cut up the rabbit same way you did. Literally falls off the bones and is tasty AF! Great job all
Jake, for the health and safety of you and your family, throw that skillet in the trash and buy cast iron. The nonstick is coming off and you and your loved ones are eating it. Research it. Good recipe. Love THP.
Great American Outdoor Show in Harrisburg is this week. I've been there 2 days and have seen a bunch of people wearing THP hoodies and shirts it's awesome.
Sheds! I'm more excited to see those, even though the rabbits looked fun. (As an old firehouse cook, you can speed up the crock pot method by baking in a closed dish for a couple hours.)
I've always enjoyed rabbit cooked in the slow cooker. Alot of people don't care for it, but we were raised up on it. Great bush wacking to spook em out too, I used to be the hound as well! Lol Love ya'll ❤️
I love rabbit hunting! Pro tip you can clean them in the field. Grab them by the head shake them really hard a few times then you can squeeze the guts rite out their butt then stick your boot on the head and pull it off. Saves on the mess at home.
Guys, go to wal mart and get an “insta-pot”, it’s like a crock pot and pressure cooker all in one. You can throw a bunny in there with all of your ingredients, and it’ll be done and so tender in 45 min. You can put chicken breast in frozen and it’ll be ready in 20 minutes from frozen. Hamburger is the same. I use it almost everyday. Ribs are the best! Lots of videos and recipes on yt or just browse the interwebs 👌
The good news is that when they measure like that it somehow always tastes good. Bad news is it's never exactly the same next time you make it. My wife does the same thing, be cool if THP had a dedicated small game person. Most people have no idea what small game has to offer.
Y'all need to get yourselves an "Instapot". They will cook that same meal in a quarter of the time it takes a crockpot to cook it. I'm thinking around 30-minutes to cook that in an Instapot. And it cooks it just as tender and good.
Ah, that brought back So many wonderful memories for me. I haven't hunted since the late '80s due to a back injury. We always hunted with dogs. I used to carry A Stool/Storage Backpack with me. When I got too sore to walk anymore, I would sit on the stool & wait for the dogs to Run The Rabbits Right Back To Me!!! I'll never forget the one time, a rabbit caught me off-guard & I shot him as he was crossing a creek bed. Needless to say, the Richochet off the rocks came back thru him & just Shredded Him!!! lol
Awesome hunt. Hopefully in September yall can dove hunt and post some videos. Can't wait for the turkey tour. Keep safe and keep videos coming. Would love to see some videos on supplemental feeding to grow bigger racks and healthier deer herd.
Put a drone up next time to watch the rabbits run around the hunters. Larry Smioth had that on one of his rabbit hunting videos, and it was cool to see.
Many reasons to hunt bear, but bear stock is great. I've been cooking game for a long time. Gifted bear. My first tag this year. Give me the carcass. Never have had prime cuts but I understand deer and bear stock. So many ways to use it.
Dudes, you guys had rabbits and antlers and not a single one of you thought to make the mighty jackelope appear in the video?! Awesome hunt guys. 🤘🏻
Yep, thought for sure we were going to catch a blurry glimpse of the legendary Jackelope in the brush.
That first one was nearly as big as a swamp rabbit!

I’m not much of a small game hunter but I really enjoy watching the hunting public smoking Peter rabbit 😎

My favorite kind of hunting, quality rabbit hunting videos are few and far between. I'd definitely like to see more from these guys
I grew up hunting rabbits with my Dad and our beagles. Good times. My favorite part of this video was Ted tucking in Jake tho… that was heartwarming 😆
Definitely going to have to try that great video. Nothing better than chasing bunnies when snow is on the ground 👌

Absolutely love these small game videos! Best thing to do this time of year!!
Small game hunting, a lost art. Thanks for the versatility!!
Love to see the cooking after the hunt. It would be cool to see some deer recipes as well!

Jake and Chrystal those are some nice recipes. Like your vintage birch cabinets made right inside your house back in the day.

I love how you guys let Aaron hold one of the rabbits to feel included in the thumbnail😂… awesome video!
I love rabbit hunting! Pro tip you can clean them in the field. Grab them by the head shake them really hard a few times then you can squeeze the guts rite out their butt then stick your boot on the head and pull it off. Saves on the mess at home.

With Jake, a spoon full paprika goes a long way. #spicyketchupintolerant
Jake I hope you do a lengthy video this year on sturgeon spearin...

Reminds me of being a kid in NJ when you could start hunting in the back yard and continue into the woods
"Like hunting in Michigan boys". as a Michigan boy that's a true statement.

Great content and even great music.
Thank you Guys.
Always wanted to try rabbit hunting out. Love the videos in between Deer and Turkey season. Good eyes on the sheds!!

I'm not going to lie. I'm southern born and southern bred, but it does sound pretty good to have a woman serving you rabbit hot dish on rice.
Nice shootin fellas! Sling some arrows at them next year, it was fun doing it this year for us with the recurve 🤘🏼🤘🏼
Gonna have to get out and get a couple more rabbits and try it out! Looks good!

Awesome hunt. Hopefully in September yall can dove hunt and post some videos. Can't wait for the turkey tour. Keep safe and keep videos coming. Would love to see some videos on supplemental feeding to grow bigger racks and healthier deer herd.
You guys gotta come up to Vermont and hunt hares with some of the best dogs this side of the Mississippi !
Ted tucking Jake in was the highlight of this video! 🤣
Put a drone up next time to watch the rabbits run around the hunters. Larry Smioth had that on one of his rabbit hunting videos, and it was cool to see.
Heck yah great video as always and some good eating guessing y'all don't do any squirrel hunting around there
Ya'll scared those antlers right off them jackelopes before shooting em. Pretty cool.
Can't wait! Thanks thp!
Rabbit ala Teflon. Yum

Please tell me you didn't put the middlins in the hash. Middlins is for frying and breakfast with gravy.
It’s called Hasenpfeffer!
Lmao nice of u to tuck jake in Ted! 🤣
Rabbit stroganoff, yummy!
That looked great.
Prucha for President
Lemme guess... Midwesterners, upland game, crockpot full of cream of mushroom... Shocker!
You guys are awesome
Love it looked like so much fun
Look's like fun! Great video!
We need Jake, Ted and Aaron to do that gangster walk like on office space.
Good sear on rabbit and venison before braising is important. I'm a believer in whole deer shanks for stew braised in bear stock. Any stock.
Many reasons to hunt bear, but bear stock is great. I've been cooking game for a long time. Gifted bear. My first tag this year. Give me the carcass. Never have had prime cuts but I understand deer and bear stock. So many ways to use it.
stick one of those magnetic mount metal plates on your phone, then you can go magnet fishing for it next time.
BUSSIN!

7:00 is that another shed in the treeline? I'd assume you'd have seen it but there's a chance
Pretty sure I saw a rabbit get by Aaron upper right corner around 11min 03sec mark lol
Awesome!
Ted, for goodness sakes, learn how to hold a fork like a gentleman.
