Hey, I have a 85' FXR and due to a fused left wrist and painful AF tennis elbow, I'm having a hard time riding because the clutch is really hard to pull in. Think it may even have some kind of aftermarket/stronger clutch. Any suggestions on what I could do to make it pull in much easier without compressing too much? Thanks
On my dyna I have a stock clutch, with a 1fngr brand EZ-pull lever and that feels like butter. I have a video on my channel in the “Harley tech tips” playlist about how to replace a clutch cable, and have that lever featured in there if you want to see how it looks. They also offer it in chrome.
the early clutch arms are a lot stiffer than the later ball and ramp style clutch set ups. lightest set up is a 89-93' ball and ramp w the later diaphram clutch spring. currently have an 82' fxrs w a late model 98' trap door bagger plate / ball and ramp with a primo rivera pro clutch. its pretty stout but it grabs. originally on my 91' had stock primary and clutch they are relatively soft. now it has an evolution clutch, really nice engagement and smooth but not super light.
Great shop talk. You guys really know your bikes!
Only enough to be dangerous!!
Nice bike!
Good to see the younger generation still wants to actually ride instead of bar hop with their buddies on their black street glides...
Good man going with a thunder header
If it doesn’t have a thunderheader, he’s not interested

Also, adjusting could help you a lot too. I’d recommend adjusting the clutch, and an EZ-pull lever. Another brand to look at is elite mototech.
@@highoktanegarage Sounds perfect, thanks.
Will check out your other video.
No problem

Definitely needs either more chrome or more black. One or the other
It’s in the process of a lot more chrome
I gave you a thumbs up, but your wife needs a good life insurance policy on you! Keep riding...
If she’s smart she would!
