  • Here is the 10 improvements I have implemented to my 2D RTS Godot game:
    1- Proper interaction with NPCs on the map scene. You can have a chat, build alliances or break them and attack. You can try running away from wars as well.
    2- Day-night cycle implemented and it even affects soldier performance on wars. During night range of archers drop.
    3- Weather system implemented and it also affects how well your soldiers fight wars. Again, archers are the main group that are affected by the weather.
    4- Now NPCs have emotes that shows what is their goal Recruit Rogue-Sword-Shield-Bow, Chase, Wander around ... They are not black boxes anymore!
    5- Now NPCs can fight other NPCs from their enemy kingdom and even level up their soldiers while doing so. You can use this to weaken enemy forces and then attack them.
    6- Now there are monster NPC lords along side Monster Dens. Dens train monster lords and even let them increase their lord level. If monster leaders left unattended, they may be a significant threat after leveling up many times.
    7- Locations are now means a lot more than soldier recruitment. Now, you can visit locations, wander around, interact with resident NPCs and even accept quests.
    8- Of course war mechanics also improved a lot. You can now actively select a group and command them separately. Weather also take effect here! There are night wars as well.
    9- Now depending on the size of armies, a war scene with appropriate sized war scene is loaded. For a small army, you won't be fighting in an endless scene.
    10- The position of your army is now affected by invisible areas on the war scene. Going up increases the range of attack while fighting around a forested area give advantage to rogue class. Positioning your archers on hills will give them range boost!
