You're welcome - I know how many people couldn't get tickets (including me, until a few days ago) or couldn't make it to London. So glad I could share this!
@@SimonSanders1 : Thank-you SO very much from the bottom of my broken heart in Toronto. I still miss Mark as badly as I started to when I heard the tragic news. Widowed myself almost 20 years ago, at 46, I can relate to Shelley as best as I can. ~ For you to have gotten tickets almost last minute and then to graciously upload this, I honestly can't thank-you enough for this share. If I'm not actually watching, I have it on in the background as I work away on something on my computer. Blessings to you. 🙏
So strange. Mark's been the go to for so many years when in need of the friend to help carry any particular emotion. Cried for days when he died, and bc rarely using social media, just found out about this concert. Can't believe it happened, still overjoyed and plus so fking pissed of not knowing about this sooner so I'd have been there. Grateful you took the time to bring this online. I adore every moment. Thank you so much!
Lanegan is smiling right now, I can feel it because I’m in tears…this is sooo good! Thank you to whoever recorded this entire show to share with the world! This is absolutely amazing!
Great show!!! QOTSA brought me to Mark Lanegan. What he added to their albums was ethereal, magical, unforgettable. As are his very own enchanting, mesmerizing, boundary splitting, inter dimensional, haunting works of art. I’ve only gotten to really know his solo work this year. But he seems to have known me FOREVER. RIP Mark Lanegan. From NL 🇨🇦
Listening to the beginning where they had his vocals playing through the p/a system I wanted him to come out so bad from behind the curtain I know it can't happen because he's passed on but I wanted it
troy is such a king to partake in this - if i'm not mistaken, he wasn't with QOTSA when Lanegan was with them. but he killed it. i love that man so much.
@@3doubles Troy joined in 2002 for the songs for the deaf tour when mark was with queens. And he contributed to bubblegum which also came out a bit later. Since Mark was afterwards still in touch with queens I'd say they had been in good contact with each other
Haha that's so true. I still think that, for one song, everyone should have to put their phones down, everyone experiences everything unmediated, and then it is lost forever in the memories of those present.
What a great show! I particularly enjoyed all the bluesy Bubblegum songs sung by Mosshart, "El Sol" by Homme and Garwood’s appearance (love his work with Mark). Also the performance of “Judgement Time” by the background singers was stunning. Thanks to everyone who made this possible. I will never forget Mark and his unique voice. Greetings from Germany to all his fans around the globe.
Rest easy, Mr.Dark Mark and happy heavenly Birthday, was so happy to met you three times..always friendly, always a fantastic show… love to read your book… Sing backwards and Weep, Mark 🖤
My man getting his due. My homegirl and I were just chatting across country, reminiscing of the days Mark lived down the street in Altadena. Back when he was Between lives and getting his sea legs back in 2001-2002. So many of the faces on that stage that I hold dear and have brushed by, in different cities known, loved, or all of the above over these mad years. Its amazing how things converge around a man who was so guarded, private, troubled, and genius. That stage has some real souls there on it. Who is there and who isnt equally speaks of the purity of this show. Much like the Nico tribute which Mark sang at. But where is brother Jeff Fielder? Mark's right hand man. I gotta check into this.
I was hoping this would be posted somewhere, and I'm thankful it was! What an awesome lineup of musicians celebrating the life and art of my favorite musician. Mark Lanegan would be smiling. I'm familiar with the majority of these artists, but only became so after falling in love with Lanegan's discography and features. He had a nack for finding and working with good ones. Particularly, I've fell in love with Josh Homme and Greg Dulli, they're fucking fire. My top 5 artists this year were Mark Lanegan, Afghan Whigs, Queens of the Stone Age, Mondo Generator, and Tom Waits. Tom Waits musically is basically Lanegan's wierder doppleganger, and Lanegan worked with the other 3 artists. He worked with Greg Dulli in his side project, The Twilight Singers, as well as the duos supergroup, The Gutter Twins, and they were both present in each others solo careers. Then it was a similar deal with QotSA, with Lanegan working contributing to their early albums and tours, and with Josh Homme and Nick Oliveri working with him in his solo career. And same deal with Nick Oliveri's Mondo Generator, Lanegan sung the song Four Corners and did Auto Pilot with him live, and with Oliveri contributing to Lanegan's solo career. Nick Oliveri is the only artist I was really disappointed to not be involved in this tribute concert. It's unsuprising though with Oliveri's history, but still disappointing nonetheless. I would've also been happy to see PJ Harvey, Isobel Campbell, and Mike Johnson involved here, but this was still a fantastic concert in their absence. Fantastic tribute to a fantastic artist. Thank you for posting this, and thank you Mark Lanegan for the gift of your amazing songwriting.
Who were we missing: PJ Harvet, Isobel Campbell, the two remaining Screaming Trees or anyone from Seattle, Duff McKagan, Skeleton Joe, Martina Topley Bird...
Thanks so much, Simon, for posting this. What a magic night it was, hard to pick a favourite song because all present put their everything into this, but Josh Homme's rendition of Carnival and Alison Mossheart's performance of Wedding Dress were right up there. I flew in from Berlin and seeing folks travel all the way from the U.S., Canada and even Australia just to be there that night speaks for how big a part Mark was and continues to be in so many peoples' lives. What a legend, he'll be forever missed
I was lucky to see mark live once in a tiny club in Massachusetts I believe in 2019 amazing show obviously but I wish this wasn't just a one off show I wish these folks could tour this celebration of him
Do you remember the lady that kept yelling for nearly lost you and he said back 15 years to late and wrong band lady then she kept saying it almost after every song and he said something like lady were trying to do something here ...great show great venue I love the Sinclair such a tiny venue but still has incredible sound which can't be said for alot of those tiny venues
Most gracious to Mark LanegaN for his brilliant compositions and contributions to R&R-as it intends..Mud,blood,piss&Vinegar and debauchery-pulling no punches expressing all the ups & downs, highest highs 2 the dirty low downs 2 the ground.. unmitigated, unregulated and taken away way 2 soon..miss u mate~much luv and respect my brother..RIP Mark LanegaN may the Lord have mercy on us all~Amen..
thanks for uploading ..saw Mark twice on stage in Paris and Antwerp..carrying on listening his legacy..all my respects to the musicians that pay tribute...😎
He deserves this recognition. One of the artists that shaped my musical landscape. Losing Chris Cornell and him in such a short timespan has been terrible
